Dear NMC National Mailbox Center,
This is in response to the owner's comment under my Mia Kodak page, as I can't reply directly from that account.
I’m genuinely baffled by your response. It seems like you’re trying to deflect the real issue here, which is the lack of competence and professionalism in handling customers' mail. Let's be clear: I came to your establishment expecting a basic level of service—receiving my mail and packages correctly. Not only was that expectation not met on multiple occasions, but your employee's attitude and offensive behavior were beyond unacceptable.
To suggest that this situation boiled down to my "civility" is quite telling. I, like any customer, expect to be treated with respect and to have my mail handled securely and correctly. Instead, I experienced neglect, disrespect, and incompetence. Yes, I was frustrated, and rightfully so. When a service fails repeatedly and then culminates in a racist slur, any reasonable person would be upset.
Additionally, based on the numerous 1-star reviews from others who have experienced similar issues with your service, it seems this isn't an isolated incident. I think it's safe to assume the obvious: this place has a systemic problem with how it operates and treats its customers.
I love that you took the time to reply to my review but not any of the other negative reviews. I wonder why that is. Your response only reinforces the lack of accountability at this place. A proper response would have involved an acknowledgment of the multiple failures and a commitment to address the issues so that other customers don’t face the same problems. Instead, you chose to imply that the fault lies entirely with the customer.
I have already taken your advice and found another postal center. It’s a pity you couldn't manage a simple apology or a promise to improve. But, based on my interactions with your business, I can’t say I’m surprised.
Best of luck with your "service."

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. The lady running the show here is not just rude and incompetent, but also downright offensive. The first time I came in, she was nowhere to be found for literally 10 minutes. Another customer and I were waiting, and there was not a single person in sight. I had entered through the rear entrance, and both the rear and front entrances were wide open with nobody around to oversee the packages just sitting out in the open. For 10 whole minutes, these packages were completely unattended. I loudly called out for assistance several times with no reply. Eventually, she showed up, but it only went downhill from there.
I use a virtual mailbox service in Burbank without any issues, so I know how this process should work. However, the woman here has no idea what she's doing. I received an email notification that a 13 lb box and some letters had arrived. I go in, give my mailbox number, and she asks for my ID. She walks over to where the mail is kept, shuffles through the filing cabinet and returns with just three pieces of mail, then tells me how much I owe. Confused, I ask if there’s anything else, specifically mentioning a large box. She goes back and miraculously "finds" it. I pay and leave.
Three days later, my company informs me that another package was supposed to have been delivered. Turns out, this "professional" had the package the entire time but failed to give it to me. I had to drive 1 hour and 23 minutes in traffic to retrieve it. Mistakes happen, fine. But the incompetence doesn't stop there.
The following week, I receive another email notification about new mail. I go to pick it up, give my mail box number, and again she hands me only one piece of mail. I ask, "Is that it?" She says yes. I tell her there should be a white bubble wrap envelope and ask her to check again. She walks over to the filing cabinet and says that she doesn't see anything else. I tell her that can't be right, there's a picture that was uploaded of the package. As she's walking back towards me she looks at the larger packages waiting be claimed to her left and says "OH! and this!" as she points to a large printer box that was literally sitting out in the open. How do you miss that?! I again have to press her to check for the bubble wrap envelope, which she eventually finds in a different file cabinet.
I ask her what the protocol is for checking mail because this is the second time she's failed to give me all of my packages. She says she "just takes ID and checks for mail." Well, clearly that's not working! When I ask if there is a system to track what's supposed to be picked up, she tells me they don't have one. What do you mean you don't have a system?! It's 2024; you can't just play guessing games with people's mail.
To top it all off, during this frustrating encounter, she called me a racist name. This is absolutely unacceptable behavior in any setting, let alone a place of business. It's one thing to be bad at your job, but to be disrespectful and offensive is another level entirely.
After calming down in my car, I went back in and asked for the contact information for the owner. Surprise, surprise—he turned out to be even more incompetent. I won't even bother telling you all the details of our phone conversation; let's just say I've had more effective conversations with a dog.
This place is a joke. The job is simple, yet the lady here makes it feel like rocket science. I could train a fish to do this better. If you value your time, sanity, and basic human decency, avoid this place at all costs.

Really bad experience, I spoke to a man over the phone. When I arrived there were two woman in the back who refused to help and did not speak to me at all. I kindly asked for a notary and they seemed as if they did not want my business. They looked angry and walked to the counter casually. Snatched by drivers license out my hand before I could finish my conversation. I asked for my license back and walked out of there. "Unprofessional".

I’m confused, last time I came here just two weeks ago they gave me a receipt for my usps packages. This time I came and they told me they couldn’t give me a receipt for my usps packages. Avoid coming here if you need a usps receipt, otherwise it’s just a waste of time.

I'm a long time resident in sunset Park. I've been going to nmc for years. Today, your employee, Hella, was nasty and rude. She always is. From now on, I'll go an extra block to ups. They're so nice and helpful.

A wonderful experience indeed.I called in advance and walked there before my evening excercise to send my son's laptop in for diagnosis and repair. All I brought was the laptop itself and Ms. Lisa was courteous right from the beginning to assist me with printing, packing, sealing and everything else. I used FedEx box to pack for free with her kind instructions. After all was set, the shipping label printed out from their printer should have cost $1. But amazingly and kindly, Mr. Dan just waved is hand and said not to worry about it. I did have $1 in my pocket. My printer cartridge was mulfuctioning for no reason before I went. I was ready to pay and making sure they could print labels. This nice gesture warmed up my heart for the cold weather. Mr. Dan and Ms. Lisa are a nice couple working together there. It may not look fancy outside (actually a bit run down from outside), but it is actually very warm inside with their energy and service attitude. Ms. Lisa was asking the UPS guy whether he needed a bottle of water to go, which surprised me because that was my first time to hear such kind of thing. It shows that she is just genuinely nice and a joyful person.I did not know why I chose this one out of so many options for no reason. This is by far the best FedEx/UPS/USPS center I have ever been to. And this experience is also the best part of my day today. What a wondeful experience to meet these beautiful couple out of nowhere. As I walked back, I purchsed 2 lottery tickets and hoped to extend the blessing today. What a wonderful day today!I came again just now and realized that they don’t work with QR code. You gotta go to FedEx shipping vertex in 4107 Marina del Rey.

I love this place. It’s a great small family business that’s essential for our community. GELA does a great job plus she’s a notary. She’s there every day except Sundays when they’re closed.

These guys are great. They're very friendly. They have many options to mail things. They have shipping supplies (boxes, packing peanuts, tape, etc). They also have mailboxes to rent (not sure how easy it is to get one). Cost of shipping can be a little higher than expected. But they have great service. They also have a notary that works there. Very convenient for neighbors.
