I came into L'oliphant looking for a wedding ring at the recommendation of a friend who had a great experience here. I was looking for a very specific design to match a ring that my father used to wear. Immediately when I walked in here, I was greeted by the amazing team who helped me find my right ring size, and gave me a lot of options for either a totally custom ring, or one based on a previous custom ring they'd made to save some money. Eventually, they came up with the amazing idea to use my dad's old ring and resize it for me. My dad LOVED the idea, and the amazing team at L'oliphant was easily able to resize it. I'm overjoyed with how this worked out. I have the perfect wedding ring because of them. I can't recommend L'oliphant highly enough. They have a great selection and an incredible team who will make sure you get exactly what you're looking for.

Had a lovely visit today at L'Oliphant. I popped in one day to window shop and Janice was so helpful and mentioned their cleaning, maintenance and repair services. Had no idea that you should have your ring prongs inspected a couple times a year to be safe. They were so helpful in cleaning a family necklace piece and inspected my rings which did in fact need a bit of tightening. I'll be back with other pieces and so glad to have found them.

Outstanding business, staff and stakeholders in the community. I have bought beautiful pieces from L'Oliphant over the years, and I've taken jewelry in for repairs. Each piece I've taken in has a great deal of sentimental value and I knew that they were in the best of hands. Ken is an authority on gemstones and served as a mentor for a student of mine who was considering jewelry design as a possible career. He gave so much time and expertise to her learning, and she came out of the experience with a huge boost in knowledge, business savvy and confidence. I love the shop. The pieces are elegant and their prices are reasonable. The integrity of all who work there is refreshing and unquestionable. I moved from Santa Monica, and cried when I went by there to say goodbye. These wonderful people had become part of my life.

I've been a satisfied customer of L'Oliphant for over 20 years and they always have any jewelry we need at a price that works for us, and if we want something special they will have it custom made to our specifications.I was at the shop yesterday to have a piece of jewelry repaired and an obnoxious customer was giving the owner and another employee a parcel of $&# because he did not like the way an item was repaired. He was personally insulting them & calling them names.....The owner was so gracious and kept repeating that she would happily redo the repair and was trying to explain to the man how and why the item broke. He wouldn't listen to reason only wanted to insult and embarrass them. When he finally left there were 5 other customers in the store and every one of us said what a jerk than man was.BJ (the owner) kept her poise and professionalism and I have to admire her because I would have kicked the guy to the curb.I was saddened by the person who felt the need to be a bully to store personnel who were trying to work with him.L'Oliphant is a wonderful store, owned by lovely people who bend over backwards to provide us with beautiful jewelry and personalized service.

I've brought numerous pieces to OLiphant for repair and they always do a splendid job. Christina is a true artisan and I always appreciate her suggestions. Over the years, I've also shopped there and they have a beautifully curated selection of rings, earrings, necklaces and some other special items. I wholeheartedly recommend L'OLIPHANT on MONTANA AVE.

I want to like this local business but they make it so hard. First of all they have a table blocking the door. I was about to enter but I saw the local store lady yell at a woman who just moved the table aside to enter saying "why did you touch the table". Weird how is one suppose to enter the store. Second, they insist on face mask. Have you tried earrings or a necklace with a mask on? no way one can get the accurate picture of what it looks like with the on. Third, the women who were upfront are always rude. I was tempted by the turquoise ring and asked her and she yelled back "enter only with your mask". I get that local stores can refuse service to whoever based on their criteria but my son is autistic how can I enter with him and mask. I tried to explain. But figured I should just leave. Nothing more to say. I went to the next store down the road. Got better service, no table Blocking the door. No yelling. Thank you.

Have always had fantastic experiences. Been coming here for years to get my mom gifts, and have received as well. They have beautiful jewelry already made, and make great custom. They spend so much time making it perfect and give honest feedback. It never feels like they are trying to just get you to spend the most. Kind and helpful, and I appreciate that since you have to get so close to each other that they require masks. I love supporting this long time local business.

My wife has been a loyal customer of this store of the past 4 years. She has got a lot of her vintage jewelry appraised and repaired. BJ is an honest jeweler and the women working upfront are knowledgeable and helpful. They always make sure you get a good price and have very reasonable prices for their new pieces. When you get your pieces repaired they always make sure you get scrap metal for future use. She typically collects them, and sells it later for a decent price. We live in Mid-Wilshire but she will drive all the way to Santa Monica to get any jewelry. We both recommend this neighborhood gem.

I really have so much empathy for people and the hard time a lot of people have gone through recently. But I just couldn't ignore not writing a review right now. I have never stepped foot into this place without someone having such a strange and rude demeanor and attitude. There might be one or two people that work there that are kind or normal. But the owners seem to have major personalities/customer service issues. Unbelievably rude, hostile, and condescending. I basically will never do business here or advise anybody to strictly based on their attitude. I hope they can retire or find some thing else to do that makes them happier.

Where do I begin!? I was referred by a friend that had a necklace made by BJ that had her grandma's diamond put in the necklace. I went with a bag of broken jewelry and a ring that I never wore but, had sentimental value. When I left my ring was turned into 2 rings that will be keepsakes for my children and a stunning necklace made from the gem, and all my jewelry repaired and shined like new. Walking in is like going to an old friends house. BJ listened to my sentimental stories and together we came up with a design that was thoughtful and gorgeous. I was confident that my jewels would be handled with care and honesty. Such a rarity to find an artist such as BJ.

I hate and never post bad reviews for businesses. My family owns a business and I know how hard it is and how much one bad review from a misunderstanding or bad communication can really effect a business. BUT the woman/co-owner BJ should not be allowed to work with customers EVER. She is rude, condescending and demeaning. Her attitude is downright poor. I’ve come in here twice now and both interactions were so horrible I didn’t even buy what I thought was a gorgeous piece. Sounds like the other owners have great reviews but my interaction with her is just so disappointing. Going to patron a different small business.

We asked BJ to create a custom engagement ring for us and it came out perfectly! BJ and Christina were great to work with - professional, responsive, great expertise and fast! Highly recommend for anyone looking for an engagement ring!
