I've been attending Lift Society Gym in Santa Monica for 3-4 months, and it's been an amazing experience. One of the best things about this gym is the small class sizes. It feels almost like having personal training because the instructors can give each participant individual attention. I'm thrilled to have found this place and highly recommend it!

I found LIFT Society right here on Google Maps. I wanted a group strength training class that wasn't going to injure me so badly like Crossfit, and I'm glad these guys were right there in Santa Monica. I was a member for the past six months and then I had to move out of LA and so I had to leave, and leaving LIFT Society was the hardest part about moving away. I lifted here 3x/week, mostly with instructors Sage and Martine, and these were my happiest days every week. Over the course of six months, I dropped over 50lbs of weight, dropping over 12% body fat, and increased my strength more than I ever did with Crossfit. During my last max week, I kept hitting new PRs. I was blown away.
For each workout the instructors guide you through the warmup and then through each lift, including reps, tempo, etc. If you're new, like I was, they help you learn the lifts. And during the workouts, they will correct you to ensure your form is good. I started at LIFT with major lower back issues, but I was able to start light and work my way up to my biggest gains ever in my life. (I'm a 43 year-old man)
But besides the strength gains, this was just so much fun. Sage and Martine made classes so much fun, and the group training environment provided that wonderful sense of community. It was FUN. I looked forward to going to each and every class. Sometimes I would do the double header workouts on Sunday over at the Culver City location. I gave my all each workout and completely transformed my body to the point where some people didn't recognize me.
I complemented my workouts with prepared meals (Factor), calorie + protein counting on a Google sheet, and eventually Mounjaro to help with appetite suppression. These three together resulted in a fantastic transformation for me that improved my cardio, sleep, and overall happiness. Some say exercise is the best medicine, and LIFT Society became my foundation. Of course it's LA so I also did yoga and hiking, but LIFT was the core. Hiking was so much easier because my butt was so much stronger thanks to all of the regular hip thrusts here!
I love this place and i'm already missing it a week later. If you want to get strong, have fun, and not worry about what you're going to do in your next workout, this is the place. Join and lift heavy!

Great gym. All the trainers are very friendly and take the time to answer questions. The classes have a great sense of community and I can really tell the progress I've made since joining. Highly recommend

Phenomenal! Dave and Dylan have combined the best fitness program by utilizing everyone's unique strengths and weakness to maximize the best results. Can't recommend this boutique lifting program enough. Whether beginner or lifting expert, I guarantee you will fall in love with working out here.

I am so blown away by the staff, programming & community of this gym. I’ve never been in better shape, had a clearer understanding of how to progress (both strength and aesthetically) or felt more motivated to continue the grind. Membership to this gym has changed the game and every week I find myself excited and eager to see what new levels I will reach and how the incredible and singular programming will evolve. The other members are all so into it also & it really feels like home. STRONG recommend. Pun intended?

One class was all it took.Today, I attended my first class with Martine and immediately knew I had found something special. It was exactly what I had been looking for. You know that feeling, right? While I usually prefer workout classes, I've been wanting to delve into weight lifting. This gym embodies both perfectly.The small class sizes and individual racks create an intimate atmosphere where you feel like you're having your own private training session. But at the same time, there's enough space for you to go at your own pace. And here's the best part: you don't have to worry about creating a workout routine because it's all done for you!All you have to do is show up and be ready to put in the work. Can you believe this place actually exists? I'm still in shock over finding it. It's such a brilliant concept, and they're definitely doing something right here.Trust me, this gym is a game-changer..

Really impressed with my experience at Lift Society. Dynamic workout engaging all my muscle groups with enough rest to recharge between sets while still challenging me to push myself. Highly recommend!

I am obsessed with LIFT society!! Dylan and Dave are so knowledgeable about movement and how to safely lift no matter what level you are at. This is my favorite kind of workout that truly makes a difference in how you feel and look! Lifting in this type of class setting is the absolute best, you have to try it for yourself :)

This workout is truly the most effective workout you'll ever find. I have done classpass over the years in Los Angeles and never found something that actually made an impact on my body and also was enjoyable. This is a supportive environment, and not one where they "yell" at you, like many other exercise classes. It absolutely kicks your butt, but in a good and healthy way. They keep classes small so it feels like you are having a personal trainer, who is actually adjusting and making sure your form is perfect. I truly have not found a place that holds a candle to Lift Society.

I love this gym. So much that I don't want to leave a review because I don't want to let the secret out! Everyone has their own rack, and the trainers are great at checking form and technique! Everyone is super welcoming and it's a great way to learn how to lift from scratch or improve on current lifting program (and have someone hold you accountable!) such an amazing concept!
