Lisa is the consummate professional. She has her finger on the pulse of every aspect of kitchen design. Kitchens on Montana did our first remodel 20 years ago and I always knew when the time came we would go back to her. Our new kitchen has just been completed and exceeded our expectation, thanks to her insightful recommendations and expertise. I will add that I really appreciated the fact that she didn't try to talk me out of my original vision (black floors) but worked tirelessly to find exactly what I wanted. If anyone desires an enjoyable kitchen remodel - RUN, don't walk to Kitchens on Montana.

Lisa at Kitchens on Montana is the designer you are looking for.We instantly clicked and you will have this same feeling when you consult with her. I had an idea in my head what i wanted but what she does is extrapolate, expand, export and transform that idea into a visionary masterpiece. She listens, can read your mind, has an meticulous eye for beautiful design and doesn't ever forget a thing. Talented & well experienced beyond what i had previously encountered- she a one stop shop from planning, designing, and executing, such as finding your perfect contractor, shopping for your stone materials, flooring guy, consulting with hardware, lighting, furniture designs - you name it, there is nothing she can't do. Her enthusiasm is also infectious, design is her passion and it clearly shows. She is a God-send, a skilled magician who has people up her sleeve to tackle any issue. Her favorite saying is- there is no problems, just creative solutions. Always there every step of your project to keep you stress free and everybody moving along- there's a reason why she is in high demand and have repeat clients. We are so grateful to find her and extremely ecstatic with our newly redesigned and impressive kitchen and bathrooms.

I have waited over 2 years without making a review in hopes, the owner Lisa would be true to her word & make the kitchen correct. My kitchen was completely designed by her & cabinets were over $150,000. After the installation there were 2 banks of cabinets on each side of the stove which had spots on them. After numerous calls & videos were sent to her, she came to see what what wrong. At that time she stated she would like to bring the manufacturer rep out to see what is wrong. That was over a year ago! The damage on the cabinets is obviously a manufacture issue as the spots are only on select panels. Further, with time the baseboards have absorbed water & discolored with very visible veins. 2 plus years after installation we are still waiting for the cabinets on each side of the stove to be replaced. We also are still waiting for the baseboards to be corrected! Apparently the baseboards are an installation issue in which the installer cut the baseboards to fit & put the wrong part to the floor so it broke the seal... so we have been waiting for the replacements.. still! Lisa has always said she would make this right but over 2 years later it still has not been done. While she pursues new business, she fails to take care of the customer La who hVe paid her A LOT of money! It's super frustrating we have to repeatedly call & ask & get pushed off. Today I called, she answered & said "I don't have time to talk" & apparently just hung up!? Definitely rude, & uncalled for as you shouldn't answer the phone if you can't take 1 minute to say, "I will get back to you!? I haven't forgotten... etc" From a distance, my kitchen is beautiful! The cabinets are gorgeous. I will also add, we relied on her expertise to guide us, as we actually use our kitchen regularly & host many parties, large & small. The cabinets finish shows EVERYTHING! Not practical for the hands to even touch leaves a grease stain but we can work around that... but wish we had known these are VERY HIGH MAINTENANCE cabinets! In this case, the beauty is lost in the details. We this is unfortunately a case in which customer service has failed. & without resolution & due to the expense, it will result in litigation to resolve due to negligence of customer service. She just doesn't care!

Top-notch from start to finish. We walked in to Kitchens on Montana last spring with only the vaguest idea of what we wanted. Lisa Schechter visited our condo, listened to our requirements, then translated them into a stunning kitchen. There were several consultations and reviews of drawings and elevations. Our old kitchen had a lot of problems: minimal counter space, dated appliances, dark cabinets and floors that made it seem like a cave, poorly laid out storage, and common condo walls that limited wholesale reconstruction. Lisa's plan resulted in a 50 percent increase in counter space, vastly increased storage and cabinetry, augmented lighting, and countless small touches that improved the kitchen's usability. Her recommendations for countertops, backsplash, lighting, a new floor, and cabinetry were just what we wanted. When people who knew the previous kitchen see the new one, they literally gasp in delight. A word needs to be said about the subcontractors. All of them were licensed and bonded, friendly, and had a can-do attitude. They were conscientious about the disruption, execution, and cleanup. They did not stop until we were satisfied. Our new kitchen is a huge improvement over what we had, and we truly believe that nothing short of moving would result in something better. Demolition started in late August, appliance installation was in October, we were able to cook by Thanksgiving, and we were completely done before Christmas. Recommended without reservation.

When getting ready to do a full remodel of our kitchen, from top to bottom. we searched and met with many designers. We only wish we met with Lisa of Kitchens on Montana first, it could have saved us so much time.Because of the complexity of what we were doing, we knew we needed someone that not only could provide us with great ideas, but could also share with us people she had worked with and trusted to implement those ideas.Lisa, was there every step of the way. She spent time working with us to incorporate all of what we envisioned as our dream kitchen. We began with cabinets and went in a myriad of directions from there. She found the perfect contractor, who did an amazing job for us, appeared like magic every day and made it all look easy. She even took the time to take us personally to several stone houses until we found our perfect countertop.In conclusion, take our advice and go to Lisa first, you'll be very glad you did.Al & Virginia OvadiaCalabasas, California

After months pondering kitchen remodeling we contacted a few contractors, none of them offered us a good alternative of design until tired of interviews. I Googled and found Kitchen Remodel and Design Santa Monica CA. They understood our needs perfectly well and offered in record time, not only the design style we were dreaming about but also great ways to take advantage of the space we had. They conducted a clean, fast and perfectly well executed design and they went beyond our needs in customer service support. I recommend this great team. You will find excellent price, beautiful design, and caring people

I renovated the kitchen and one of the bathrooms in my Santa Monica Condo with KoM and I am happy with the final work. Jim was my designer and all the materials he chose and his drawings were superb. He is a great designer and has an excellent taste and recommendations. He brought all the "pros" in my project while the contractor brought the "cons". Due to the contractor and the city of Santa Monica, the project took longer than we originally planned. After one year I can say that I'm happy with all the work, the money and effort we put on it.

I love my new kitchen. We used Lisa to design our kitchen and she did an amazing job. She is very experienced and had excellent recommendations. She persuaded us to add a few elements that we NEVER would have added without her suggestion and encouragement; all of her thoughts made our kitchen absolutely amazing. Lisa has a great deal of kitchen design experience- she is a true specialist.

We had a burst pipe in our kitchen and needed to fix the extensive damage immediately but didn't know who to turn to. We had heard good things from friends about Kitchens on Montana but needed to research further. So I checked around and went with Kitchens on Montana. Can I just say, THE BEST EXPERIENCE EVER! Lisa, Jim, and Sarah took care of everything, designed our dream kitchen, calmed our frayed nerves, and delivered the goods on time. Our beautiful new kitchen is PERFECT, with all sorts of amazing features we could not have imagined, and they worked within our price point - we couldn't be happier. Highly recommended.

I recently moved from Boston to Santa Monica. I am in the remodeling business. In Boston, I had my crew.When I bought my place in Santa Monica to remodel, I decided to work with Kitchen on Montana. The products and prices were what I was looking for. By pure luck, I stopped by when Sarah was available to help me.It was a fun ride with her, fantastic vision and she follows through and supervising the project all the way. I highly recommend her. The kitchen in my place is state of the art. Thanks to Sarah extraordinary talent and vision.

Interviewing multiple designers for our kitchen, my instinct instantly drew me to Lisa. Her innate sense of distinction and style carried through in her work. I am relieved to say that my intuition lead me well! Upon the completion of our model kitchen, we requested her expertise on our master bathroom. Both have become high-end highlights that we are immensely proud to showcase. We felt comforted by her insight in both the aesthetic and technical aspects of design, and her ability to pull from a catalogue of luxurious and emerging designers and material, a broad swath of tastes and designs. On site, she patiently spoke our language as clients with a vision, and without missing a moment, seamlessly transitioned into a dialogue with our contractors, outlining succinctly what she anticipated in quality and measurements. Her sharp eye for detail caught quite a number of issues from the contractor, and she motivated the project back on track. Her communication skills were superb and left a lasting impression on me. Finally, after all was completed, Lisa remained thoughtful and present, offering her guidance through the final touches and last minute issues. Truly one of a kind. An incredible designer. Dealing with multiple vendors for nearly a year, she was and remained our most reliable and professional voice of reason.

I had a terribly outdated kitchen and even cooking in there was depressing. When my husband and I (who agree on absolutely NOTHING) went to see Lisa, she asked a lot of questions (What did I really hate? Was there anything I liked about the kitchen? What did I envision as my "dream kitchen"? We took down the wall between the kitchen and dining room and opened it up so that it's light, bright and cheery. Lisa guided us every step of the way, making suggestions, but being gracious when we had some particular ideas. The result: a spectacular traditional kitchen with a touch of modern. I even predict it will not look dated in 15 years. Lisa promised that everyone who saw it would have "kitchen envy" and she was right. It is truly spectacular and I love being in there. I happen to be a serious cook and it's a pleasure to putter away in there. We had plans drawn up by an architect, but Lisa made some adjustments that had she not caught would have been awkward (dining room chairs bumping into the island chairs!) She also made some great referrals (appliances, contractor, etc.) and frankly, we could not be more pleased. I would recommend Lisa in a heartbeat...and I have!
