Looking at the catalog this company FAILS to see the beauty ALL women, regardless of skin color have. That is at a minimum discrimination... I do not want to support that.
For those that do not want to support discrimination either. ... take the time to study this company's advertisements ... it's disgusting!

I have been shopping at this location inside Santa Monica place for years. My mom in law likes this store so we come here and there to buy her a gift. Decor is nice here and updated to often to seasonal holidays, it makes the shopping more fun. The style is funky, good quality, nice embroidery and fabrics. Prices are high, so we usually get a blouse here and there. Decent fitting room. Customer service varies, sometimes we had good experiences, sometimes pretty strange ones. If you're looking for something more interesting to wear for a certain occasion, check out Johnny Was!

I love Johnny Was clothing and have been a customer for many years. My recommendation is to purchase from a store, NOT from the website. I have always received friendly, helpful service in Johnny Was stores, but the online experience is awful. More than once, the wrong item or wrong size has been sent to me, and their return/exchange policy is ridiculous. Terrible customer service. I recently ordered a dress in size small and they sent a size medium. They do not exchange. I had to re-order the dress in the correct size, and they refunded my original purchase price EXCEPT did not refund the $18 shipping fee from my first purchase. Hello? You sent me the wrong size. Why am I paying for that shipping? Every time I am tempted to order from Johnny Was online, I have to keep reminding myself "Don't Do It!" And I recommend the same to others. It's just too frustrating.

My wife loves this brand and everytime there is a store we stop and shop. Every location in beautifully decorated. The Staff is extremely friendly and helpful.The quality of their products are second to none.

The incompetence is unbelievable. Almost 20 minutes to buy a dress and they ordered another dress for delivery that took three weeks to arrive. Then tried to return the dress and they said it was wrong credit card. Had to go home to get my credit card statement to show that it was on my statement. Yet another trip to Johnny Was. Still an ordeal to return it but they finally did. Last time I will have a shop there.

I've had a good experience with the quality of their clothing. I did have one issue with an online order and they fixed it...with a slight attitude. But it was fixed and I appreciate this. I've been shopping Johnny Was clothing since the 1980's. My daughters now love the brand. I know Johnny Was probably needs some customer service training since the women in the brick-and-mortar stores sometimes behave like snobs. I was in the Hawaii store and the woman looked at me and treated me like I could not afford the clothing. I probably make over 10 times what she brings home. However, as long as the quality remains high then I will purchase this brand. I wish they would end the shirt hem cropping up in the middle and back of the tops. I like a regular hem or one that goes up on the sides (making my legs look longer). The shirts that have the crescent in the middle are weird looking on me and I like a top until I see the weird hem. I do get compliments on Johnny Was clothing and I tell people what brand I'm wearing.

on Saturday I bought a skirt and top on line from Johnny Was. today I got texted a code for a 20 percent discount from the company. when I called to get a credit for the difference I was blown off. yes I checked same skirt same top same size 20 percent less. really bad business practice. that's why I love department stores. I'll probably return what I bought and never buy from the store again.

Ordered a dress in white. The collar was stained with foundation. I called customer service 3 times. The recording states. No agent is available ( after waiting 5 minutes) and automatically hangs up. I finally reached an individual and they sent me a return label MINUS 10.00 shipping. Seriously. You send me damaged merchandise and you have the worst customer service and in addition your charging me for shipping. I will never purchase from this company.

Purchased several swimsuits. Sent them all back. For that amount of money - they should be of better quality and be chlorine resistant. The pattern on the fabric was beautiful, and they fit well, but for the price the quality was less than expected. How long will it take for the fabric to fade or degrade if not chlorine resistant?

I have been a customer at Johnny Was for at least 10 years. I ordered something online which didn't fit and I went to the Santa Monica location to exchange it, as I have done many times in the past. The older woman working was very rude and informed me that they wouldn't exchange, only return to the warehouse as they "don't do that anymore". WTH??? She was condescending and acted really bothered. I told them it's a bad policy and since they can't exchange I won't be shopping with them today. I've had much better experiences at the Long Beach store. Sizing is inconsistent so I won't be ordering online anymore and certainly won't be returning to Santa Monica.
