Rufat Zokhrabov has the worst customer service attitude. We are not friends, and I don't want to joke around with you. When I'm looking for a car, which is a significant purchase, I expect to have my questions answered. If you find it bothersome to respond, then why are you in sales? Please don’t treat customers that way.

Alex is a very nice salesperson. Paperwork takes way too long, even in computer age. The main problem is that dealership has charged me sales tax and registration, but according to DMV car was never registered, as dealer didn't give money to the state, and the management is not answering calls, nor calling back, nor replying to emails. I am going to bring up this issue with State authorities, and attorney general office. Perhaps dealership will reply to their inquiries. Consumer beware!

The service department is awful.
1. I made an appointment through the inquiry made on my dashboard and connected with the service center. It was apparently a general service center, because the information was never translated to the Santa Monica Service Center. I show up at the appointed 8am Saturday morning and no services providers are there until 9am although the office opens at 8am.
2. I have complained about my brakes squeaking 2x. Each time I received a different response for the problem. Their purported solutions to the issue did not work either time.
3. Attempting to reach the service department is equally frustrating. The number is not answered, the call goes to voicemail but the voicemail box is full and cannot receive messages. I had to call the general number of the dealership and then got transferred to a service provided that was unavailable and his voicemail requested that I send a message via text or email. Neither could I do while driving. I was able to leave a message, I will wait and see if I get a return call.
The only reason they received 2 stars instead of 1 is because the sales department is great.

Alex, the young man who assisted me was professional, polite, and very helpful. The whole team was very nice and knowledgeable, not pushy at all. I purchased a preowned certified and so happy.

Scheduled a test for a specific time. When I arrived, no one was prepared for the test drive. The car was not ready, the person I had been texting with handed me over to another salesman.
Waited for 30 mins and finally left without a test drive. These are the differences between the Genesis experience and other luxury brands. Has a test drive at Lexus dealer an hour earlier and everything was ready to go when I arrived. Too bad

Absolutely ridiculous.
GV80 Prestige with 1018 miles on it.
Fourth time at the dealership for my key card which was provided to me non op.
Today was just a joke.
Two and a half hours waiting for a key card.
They handed one to me. Programmed? NOPE
They tried to program it. FAILED
Wanted me to leave my car at 2:30pm Friday. No car for the weekend.
“Can you leave your car”?
How long? THEY HAD NO IDEA.
Did not offer a loaner.
So I asked for a loaner.
“The girl who does the loaners is at lunch”.
Not a single person there takes any responsibility for themselves or their company.
It’s someone else. It’s “them” or “they’re “ or “their”.
The ONLY PERSON who says “I can help” or “let me see how to take care of you” is Christopher Jackson.
Love that guy.
Everyone else is just in “don’t give a F more and it smells of that”.
And every single time I go and try and something fixed and leave with nothing I will write another email with the truth.

Genesis Santa Monica was a pleasure to work with! Straightforward with pricing, polite, responsive, and very honest. Would recommend to anyone over other SoCal Genesis dealers.

I liked Brandon in sales. He knows the product. However the place is so busy that we couldn’t finish our sale that day. We had to go home and once that happened we found another vehicle we liked better and so they lost the sale - which is a shame. If they had us finish the sale while we were there we would have bought their car.

Got a flat on my way home in LA from Las Vegas. They were able to get me in and fix my flat and on our way within an hour. Great service and great staff.

UPDATE: Big changes!!!!
I took my car in for a safety recall and found new service staff, but this group actually knew what they were doing. There are new service advisors, service customer relations people and others in the service area. Erica joined from Hyundai, Frank from Mercedes, etc. it’s early but clearly there’s been a new regime installed who actually understand what a service department is supposed to be. It also appears the dealership GM has been changed which may explain a lot. I’m hoping this new group succeeds. Fingers crossed.
I bought a GV70 at the beginning of 2023. Since then the entire staff has turned over and the service staff has turned over at least twice. There is no consistency or continuity at this dealership. No one seems to take responsibility for anything. Over the past few weeks I have tried to call for a service appointment to fix a Safety Recall. On most days, no one answers and the mailbox is always full. They sell the cars and that's all. Like a previous reviewer said, the Genesis brand will take a hit because of how poorly this dealership performs. Most "luxury" dealerships have experienced and knowledgeable service advisors who really know the vehicles. Genesis Santa Monica has yet to understand that relationship management is a necessity with customers who are willing to throw down more than $60k for a vehicle. So disappointing.

The service department is horrible in communication.
Oscar and Jacklyn were testing my patience level, when I was waiting for their response.
I also cc'd Glenn(general manager) in the email, but it didn't help at all.
So I had my service done at Genesis of South Bay.
