The stay was nice until I realized I had been charged incorrectly. The supervisor who “assisted” in resolving the matter quickly became condescending. I requested to speak with the General Manager who was quick to explain that the billing had been corrected but glossed over the rudeness of his employee.
I’ve been a 30 year customer of Marriott, and this is a location I will never return to.

Rooms are a bit old and the pool is more for the strong-minded. Location is perfect.

If you like the smell of urine this is your place! It's a dive. All around the building it's reeks of urine. And the hotel clearly doe5spay and clean it. Room. I loved that the water didn't drain in the bath. Plastic wrap around the remote(classy lol). Zero touches.
The area if your a tourist and if you like the smell of urine this is your hood. Me I recommend elsewhere. I've stayed at much better places in the Santa Monica area.
Didn't feel safe at night walking by myself. Lots of people tweaking in this area particularly.

I can’t believe the negative reviews on this hotel. First off, it’s an amazing location a few blocks from the beach/pier. Very clean, comfortable rooms and beds. The service is amazing. Especially David at the front desk. Great value for what you get. We will definitely stay here again the next time in the area.

? URGENT ? in this prestigious hotel I was a victim of robbery in the parking area I want you to know that the hotel to date has not been held responsible and what hurts the most is that one chooses these hotels for security but in this hotel the administration is the worst

I am absolutely Livid!! We have been loyal Marriott Hotels / Marriott Bonvoy customers for over 10 years. We have permanent Elite status because of this. Yet, our complaints have fallen on deaf ears.
It is 3:26am. Our complaints started at 10:05pm, but the noise started long before then. We have been listening to teens partying all night long in the room above us. They have been stomping, moving furniture, dropping things, and just being loud all night! We have complained to the front desk several times. Each time they say they will “talk to them” or “ask them to settle down”. It still has not stopped.
They offered to move us at first, but we told them that we are not the ones breaking the rules of the hotel. So we should not be the ones to have to move.
We were just told that they have been moved. They were NOT kicked out. They were moved to go disturb someone else. This is unacceptable!
Noteworthy details: They won’t care about you at all. They only care about the entitled, selfish, teens who spend Mommy and Daddy’s money there. They would rather anger loyal Marriott customers and risk losing them than kick out a bunch of loud partying teens. Don’t stay here!

Spacious rooms with good view of metro station below.
Cleaning staff was helpful and pleasant.
WARNING ABOUT VALET: left my vehicle for overnight parking... keychain ring was missing upon return, dash cam no longer working upon return, and passenger front seat left farther back than usual.

We were steps from Santa Monica pier very nice hotel clean and all amenities were ready available.
Very secure, and safe.
A lot of homeless around but they don’t bother no one.

Great location near Santa Monica pier.
Parking valet service is $50 plus $5 tax, but it is very convenient. All the staff was very courteous, especially the valets (both night and day).

Hotel very close to Santa Monica Pier: 5 minutes on foot.
Our room with balcony and kitchen area was very spacious.
The hotel staff is very helpful and friendly.
The only downside will therefore be the noise of the metro which runs almost all night and makes a lot of noise: earplugs required…

Lots of negatives -
- The housekeeping staff was on strike at the hotel. The management did not bother informing us before hand.
- Rooms were not cleaned the second night even after request and it was blamed on the strike. Some Marriott points were rewarded as compensation.
- While we understand this was out of their control, they could have taken preemptive steps to ensure a smoother stay for guests especially since this has been going on since Sept 2023 as per other reviews.
- Valet Parking is also overpriced at $50 , there is hardly any need for valet parking given they have plenty basement parking
- cafe below has extremely limited options.
- Hotel is Overpriced for the value that was provided.
Only positive was the spacious room and early check in and hence the 2 stars. Would not stay here again.

Horrific experience. I've stayed at this Courtyard twice before and had nothing but positive experiences. This time, however, we find ourselves in the midst of a workers strike and extremely loud protests (drums, horns, amplified chanting, etc) that began at 6:45am this morning (Saturday). Did the hotel not know this was happening or think to advise guests?
Add to that already-interrupted sleep due to loud upstairs neighbors who checked in at 12 midnight and proceeded to rearrange furniture while their child ran back and forth across the uncarpeted floor for 45 minutes. Oh, and there are minor misses like threadbare towels and the noise from the Metro Rail station across the street. Note to self: if there's a white noise machine in your room when you check in, you're probably going to need it.
Pluses? Good Santa Monica location. The lobby coffee is pretty good, and the parking attendant on arrival was very helpful and friendly. Can't say I'll be coming back at this point.

Room was a great size and we were helped by Aaron Greer who gave us some nice tip on how to enjoy our stay in Santa Monica! 10/10 recommend visiting while he's working.
