Banking here is a breath of fresh air.Excellent online services as well as a knowledgeable, helpful, friendly staff who smile & remember you. There's a brightness and efficiency about this bank, it feels good to be a client here. Just reviewing their easy to use website you can see they support the community with all the services of big banks without inch-thick barriers. If you banked at One West on Main St before they were overtaken by the worst bank Ever, this is the place for you.Validated parking in the underground garage is a bonus, especially in the rain!

I suppose BOW is adequate for the simplest of banking services, but everything else is just difficult, every time. And the conflicting guidance on what I'm told in the branch compared to my phone conversations with customer service; it's unbelievable. They don't seem to like documents prepared by lawyers very much -- wouldn't accept my power of attorney despite it being notarized and in perfect order, as one example. I am associated with multiple banks, and BOW is clearly the worst.

Went to our branch in Encino today - found it closed permanently, but got no notice. Sign sent us to branch in Sherman Oaks, When we got there, it was closed permanently and had a sign directing us back to the [closed] Encino branch! Tried to reach customer service in early afternoon, but kept on hold for an hour before we gave up and hung up. IF YOU GIVE A HOOT ABOUT CUSTOMER SERVICE, THIS IS NOT THE BANK FOR YOU.

If I could give this 0 stars, I would or even negative stars. This is based on the discriminatory practices The bank has a ton of negative reviews and I see why. Applying here for a position, they do not hire people who have banking experience and retail experience. They based their decisions on age discrimination and a person's looks. It's safe to say I would not recommend anyone to bank here, with high net worth or low income. Below sub par management who do not have the common sense to hire good candidates. Best to bank at your credit union and take your money out of here! I won't even open an account here. I never plan to no matter what.

I rarely if at all want to write anything negative however .. I would have given a 2 may be a 3 star but after 4 attempts to get any customer service from the CEO down - you failed Bank of The West Breakdown: -i have a mortgage with you - walked into Santa Monica location to talk about re fi- person at desk they said would get back to me with details - been 2 years.. guess that's not happening - Covid hits- I send a LinkedIn to the CEO and surprisingly she wrote back - my issue was your forbearance program, unlike other major banks, is you will give a forbearance BUT at the end of the forbearance you would have to true up to all those months! Who can do that? She said she would look into.. I was ghosted by the CEO- that was almost a year ago -next up the call center this past weekend . My house is closing escrow and I had some questions about my payment - specifically about pausing my auto deductions since I am closing soon- basically he put me on hold and said he took me off auto pay- I asked again will I get a late payment even though escrow closing end of the month- he said yea so I asked to not do that - I was told sorry can't and basically wrote me off - walk into bank again this last weekend to correct this error- was asked why I was there - explained - guy at a desk said we are closing soon it was 11:14- bank closes at noon on Saturday's - he just went back to his office. ..he left the poor teller to deal with issues he could not.... you get my drift It just went from bad to even worse than ever.... hence this review ! My next house that I am buying I will make sure my mortgage banker does not go with Bank of the West No matter what the rate is!

Bank of the West might wish to change their name to "Bank of the Old West". Their online options are absurdly non-competitive in 2020. My mom has an account here and the online system doesn't allow transfers between her 2 Bank of the West accounts! I could maybe understand transfers to external accounts? But 2 accounts that she owns? She has no way to transfer money out of the CD account either. The only option is to physically visit the bank - which for my elderly mom during COVID times just isn't safe. They are essentially holding her money hostage. If you are considering banking here, I'd highly recommend considering an alternative option.

Bank Of The West, Worst Customer Service EVER! Any time you call and are greeted by a message saying there will be a 40 minute wait, SOMETHING IS WRONG, way wrong with customer service. At least have an option where I can hangup, and be called back without losing my turn in the, WAIT LINE. The message states, "Because of a higher than anticipated call volume . . ." They didn't learn from last week when the message stated there would be a 40 minute wait, to this week where that wait may be exceeded? COME ON! I'll try to avoid any and all future business with this Bank.

Worst bank ever! Do not use them if you want to keep your money. They will find ways to take it when you are not looking. I closed my account in August 2019. Two CSR's went over my account to make sure all checks had posted. In September 2019 they sent me a letter trying to charge me $25 fee for Goldline overdraft protection ( which I had when my account was active.) Charged again in October 2019 $25. November 2019 another letter was sent saying I owed $75. December 7th 2019 another letter saying I owed them $100, another letter December 20th stating I owe them $572.75. When I called to ask them why I was being charged fees on an account that had been closed for almost 5 months, they talked in circles trying to explain why this happened, non of it made sense. Worst customer service ever, and obviously they don't train their staff right. DO NOT BANK WITH THESE CROOKS!

Worst customer service ever!!! I have been a customer there for over 15 years. I arrived two mins before closing and the doors were already locked with 4 customers inside. One at each teller and two in an office. I double checked my phone to make sure it was still before 5 and it was. A women arrived to check the doors a minute after 5pm (their regular closing time). Oscar Rodriguez came to unlock the door to let the customer out and the women next to me immediately asks if she could drop off her mortgage payment off to him. He declined and upon a second request he accepted. I asked to cash my check and he declined. I asked again and he said he they were closed. I asked why he accepted the other women's and he said because hers is different. I told him I'd been a customer for a very long time and didn't understand the difference between him choosing to helping her and not me? He looked behind him and the other teller was shaking her hard. He then closed the door on me and locked it.

Simply put don't bank here... Sitting on the phone for four days trying to open an online savings account. Then I went into the branch to verify the info they requested and they were like it's an online account we can't help. So you can't get anyone on the phone and the branch can't help. This bank already has all my banking info from an existing account, but they have to put you through the wringer again just to open up a savings account. My experience with other banks is its point and click once you have an account with them, but not this one. Tried to reach a manager that is also impossible as well. I was also promised online wiring services on my checking account which my other bank had and that is not true with this bank. I also tried to apply for a loan at the branch, but their systems were down for three days. Well, I think you get the point here.

If you even wondered what happened to the Wicked Witch from the Wizard of Oz, she became the branch manager at Bank of the West and her name is Theresa. Account is closing as we speak

Typically have quick transactions here. Sometimes new employees struggle with the system but that is to be expected. Front desk is always warm and welcoming, would be nice for the managers to do the same.
