This Company was suggested by a major Employer in California ... and I've been calling the number given to me by the Purchasing Department and it goes to a line that says, "the mailbox you've reached is full". Now, it's been a few weeks and no change. Stupid is as Stupid does. They are not a company I'll trust to arrange for my shipment. Bye bye!

Edit: I just read the reviews below and am appalled by bad ones. How can a Company like this even go one more day knowing that people are so unhappy with their service. No shame.

S&M Moving was awesome. Joaquin, Raul and team, and Pam made our move to the Central coast painless. There was great communication with all team members and my move went off without a hitch. I would highly recommend them.

Overall: poor communication skills in getting a quote for a company sponsored move, then quoted a price 3x a similar moving service within the United Van Lines umbrella. We got a quote for a move within California between places that are roughly 180 miles apart. I called them and was directed to Donna because my new employer was going to pay directly. I called at roughly 2:45pm and was told she was at lunch, so I left a message. I called back the next day around 2pm having not received a call. She said she'd submit the request for a visit the following morning and I'd get called that afternoon or the next day. I didn't receive any call till the following Monday, when I called to check in on things, having received a quote from another United Van Lines company. Donna said she was at the front desk, so she had to call me back later. When she called back about an hour later, she said she could use the information in the other quote. She emailed me at around 4pm that day with a quote of $6k for a 2BR/2bath about 1100 sqft when all they are doing is wrapping furniture and moving boxes that we will pack. The other United Van Lines company quoted just in excess of $2k as a maximum for the same work. Overall, the reviews for S&M seemed better than the other people connected with my new employer, but with this unprofessional communication and excessive quote, it seems like they don't want business and will overcharge for those who go through the hoops to use their service.

Try to avoid this Moving company if you possibly can. The initial service is excellent. It's the moving part and follow-up that is absolutely terrible. The movers themselves are very nice and try hard not to damage anything as they move items in and out. But in our case, they lost 4 boxes of items, some extremely personal and a couple very valuable. They claimed the boxes were not in their warehouse and that we must have them. I thought they were kidding. They weren't. The follow-up to our Claim was even worse. Extremely poor communication, minimal follow-up, and zero sense of urgency on their The move occurred in January and we are still waiting for our Claims Check. We would have given them 1 star but the sales person and movers doing all the work garner this terrible moving company 2 stars. We would urge you to avoid S&M Movers and select another moving company.

S&M Movers was contracted by my employer to move our household goods from Oceanside, CA to Rancho Cordova, CA. After experiencing 11 corporate moves, this was the worst move we have ever experienced. The movers were inexperienced family members and friends of the supervisor. They rented two, Ryder, bobtail trucks to move a 2800 square foot home with a 3 car garage. I explained to the supervisor that this was not going to work. He assured me that they would be able to load all of our household goods in the two bobtail trucks. On the last day of the loading process, the supervisor came to me to tell me that they were overloaded in the two bobtail trucks and had to rent a third. We had already made plans to leave on this final loading day, which meant that we had to leave the last of the household goods in the backyard to be picked up on the following day. At the beginning of the unload process, the supervisor stated that they had a pick-up and they had to finish by 1:00 PM. The unload process was rushed with boxes and furniture placed in the wrong areas. These movers did not come with carpet protection and soiled the carpet with the move in process. The nightmare move continued with unpacking and inspecting the damage to our furniture and household goods. The claim process was completely unsatisfactory. Many of our claimed items were rejected by S&M Movers. They stated that the damage to our furniture was due to normal wear and would not either repair or pay for the replacement of this furniture. Please take my advice and DO NOT contract with these movers.

Joaquin was such a good help with my move from Los Angeles to Chicago. Everything went smoothly and he explained the process thoroughly. Also, a special thank you to Pam for being extremely understanding and patient.

This is the first time we've used a moving service and would highly recommend S&M Moving to anyone with an upcoming move. Joaquin and his team were fantastic! We moved from Santa Ana to Rancho Santa Margarita. The team arrived early, were very fast, professional, knowledgeable and polite. They were in an out of both locations quickly. The take down and set up of our furniture was impressive too, especially considering we even had stairs in both locations. Also - we met with a few different moving companies before deciding on S&M. We were really impressed with Joaquin's professionalism, honesty, prompt responses and follow-ups regarding the initial quote and all of our moving questions. With two little kids, we needed a some who could help us with all of the moving details. Joaquin was very easy to work with and we really appreciated all of his help - Thank you!

Worst place to delivery something
