Really worth seeing. Above all, there is a highlight at the end of the tour with a beach full of pelicans and other beach birds. The highlight are the sea lions on the cliff lying down to sunbathe

If you have little children, make sure to visit the house as there is a fun big tree with lots of very low branches and aloe vera (?maybe) bushes which have tunnels for children to explore. There is a beautiful loop trail along the bluffs which is perfect for a weekend walk with family and friends. Bathrooms. You can park on the road for free. Sea otters and harbor seals a plenty in the ocean and on the beaches.

I love the Fern Grotto Beach Loop trail, which offers stunning panoramic views of the coastline, with opportunities to see the ocean, cliffs, and rock formations.

Used our Golden Poppy State Park pass to visit twice on our Santa Cruz trip. Parking is normally $10. Clean bathrooms in the parking lot. Sweet wild bunnies running around. Nice area of historic buildings. We had to ask two separate rangers how to get to the Ohlone Bluff Trail because there aren't any signs for it in the parking lot. I'd recommend this trail so ask for directions at the parking booth when you arrive. You walk past an organic farm before reaching the bluff and can continue along the bluff for quite a while. Looks to be a popular mountain biking spot. The trail is flat and rutted from bike tires. Wear a hat and bring water. Views are outstanding!

When in the Santa Cruz area and want a nice relaxing walk? This is the place to go. The trails are well maintained with some amazing views. There is a small beach you can walk down to - but the trail is steep. But it would be a good place for a picnic.
I would recommend you wear a hat and bring a bottle of water. Walking sticks aren’t a bad idea either if you have some.
Listen for bikes because some of the riders don’t alert you when passing.

Breathtaking views of wildlife, hidden beaches, and sheer cliffs by the sea. Huge reward for minimal effort. Highly recommend dipping your feet in the water.
Restrooms: Only in the parking lot.

I visit Wilder to bike. Lots of trails for different levels. I use a hybrid, but most riders are MTBers and a few gravel bikers. A few rocky and single track sections are more technical, but my 38 cc wheels and hybrid do fine. If you bike just in the park and hit different trails, expect 1500-2000 feet of climbing. I incorporate Wilder into two loops involving Bonny Doon and UCSC. I usually see deer and turkey on my annual ride here. I like the old ranch buildings.
Restrooms: There are restrooms at paid parking area which opens at 0800.
