Stay away from this place. It's sad that places like this are allowed to stay in business when peoples health are involved.Go anywhere else but stay away.

STILL waiting for a prescription refill. Went in to the store three times (1718 Soquel Ave, Santa Cruz, CA). The first time they assured us they would refill the prescription ASAP and text us. Nope, never received a text, we've had to go in there a third time and are waiting yet again for a text saying they've finally refilled it. AND I called and waited on hold for 78 minutes--they hung up my phone call instead of helping me! I've gone to Rite-Aid and gotten excellent service. Save yourself this time-waster and skip Walgreens.ADD: The owner responded that they care...but looking at all the other 1* reviews they have done absolutely nothing! I actually spoke to the store manager today, Cristian. He said he couldn't do anything to help me, that they were short-staffed. Apparently they have been for the past 2-3+ years and STILL refuse to do anything about it!

I cannot shake myself free of this business. My new pharmacy had no issue in filling the prescriptions that Walgreens would not. However, they have been trying for days to transfer over all prescriptions and finally called me today and said they have had two stretches of over one hour each on two different days attempting to call and having nobody answer the phone. I advised I would have my PCP call in new prescriptions for all Walgreens had been filling. I was just reading the Washington Post and see this article that the problem is apparently not limited to Santa Cruz, as their staff are initiating a nationwide strike on dangerously low staffing and frustrated customers, who rather than post reviews like me are going in and making serious threats of bodily harm or worse to their staff. washingtonpost.com/busin…

If I could give them zero stars, I would they're so mean the pharmacy they always don't even greet the customers or even talk to them nicely and just talk like a person instead of cutting us off and being rude and talking down to us I don't know the guys name But the young kid there is very nice the however the oriental man kid is very rude and used to watch. How are you speaks to people I mean you work in customer service the only reason I go here is because one of my medication's only is available here, but I would not go there and how many bad comments I heard from other people waiting. It was ridiculous.

I wish i could give 0 stars. General ambiance of store third world. Pharmacy ridiculously incompetent. Waiting for scheduled covid shot, told to wait as pharmacist on break. Minutes tick by, maybe he/she on bender to try and forget crappy job. Drug tech at desk acts comatose.

It has taken 9 days to get a refill on an everyday, normal prescription. Every time I tried to check on the status of my request online, there were no updates for over a week then after I called the pharmacy to inquire about it, I was told it would be ready in an hour. When I went to pick it up, I was informed that the order had been canceled. This is after I had already paid for it. This is the fourth time within the last couple of months I haven't been able to find out if a prescription is ready or if it is even being processed. When I arrive at the pharmacy window, I have been ignored by the staff for close to 10 minutes when they can clearly see me and are within only a few feet of me. The service at Walgreens pharmacy has been falling off for years. Now it has reached all-time lows. It is absolutely unacceptable by any standard. I am a patient man, but this is ridiculous.

My husband's prescriptions got automatically sent to this pharmacy when Dominican Plaza closed. I called them to check on the status of 2 medications. The phone took forever. There were 3 callers ahead of me. I waited 30 minutes. When a person finally answered, he said hello, then hung up. I called back. There were 2 callers ahead of me. When I finally got a person, he put me on hold! The phone rang until we were disconnected. I switched from Dominican Plaza to Horsynders Pharmacy, 2 months ago. They're great! My husband is going to switch pharmacies. Walgreens is incompetent, obviously. BTW- IF YOU TAKE A CONTROLLED MEDICATION, DO NOT USE THIS PHARMACY!

Major HIPAA VIOLATIONS HERE in the pharmacy! First off, other patients can hear what they (pharmacy clerks) are saying and what you are saying too (name, DOB, RX name, etc) NO PRIVACY HERE!!! Secondly, when the cash register person was speaking to me he practically yelled out loud that my medication is not ready and cannot tell me when it's ready because of laws... which is fine, however he yelled out the name of my medication while the other customer was staring at us listening to everything!!!!By the way, HPAA, a federal law that required the creation of national standards to protect sensitive patient health information from being disclosed without the patient's consent or knowledge.

When I got there I greeted the first pharmacist I seen some fat lady with tattoos. No response at all looked like she was one of those Karen’s already with attitude. Was then greeted by someone else and said it was going to be a min. Until someone finally came to help. They all looked miserable in there too probably why they’re all in that mood they’re in .

This is the worst pharmacy. They rarely have the prescription ready. If there are 2 cars in front of the drive thru window, you are looking at 20 minutes. When I call the pharmacy for the status, they kept picking up the phone, then put me back on hold. After about 5 times, I'm getting annoyed at this point. Wow, someone picked up the phone. I get this man who says, "can you hold please?" Then he puts me on hold. He picked up and said the same thing, 3 times. At this time, it's been 25 minutes on hold. If you have time to waste, this is place for you. If you like to stand in long lines or short and very slow service lines, this is definitely bad, bad, bad. One added note. They are CLOSED SATURDAY AND SUNDAY'S. The next worse is CVS on Mission St.

I’ve been sitting in the pharmacy drive through for over 15 minutes and they same 3 cars are still in front of me, the line hasn’t moved. They began closing the pharmacy over weekends about 7- months ago. The lines are unacceptable. Time to change pharmacies.

These people working in this wallgreens Soquel pharmacy were very very very rude, bad attitudes, unfriendly.. it happend to me 5 times already, i just wish wallgreens screen their worker..because people who were picking up their medicine are sick people they should be nice to them and not rude ..1: if you call them to ask something regarding medicine, they will hang up and when they come back they will turn off the phone i called 6 times and they hang up the phone aix times..2: the pharmacist girl the one with a long hair, skinny an asian girl looking ohhh girl she is ao rude face to face really bad atitude. I was asking some medicine to the pharmacy assistant and she told the pharmacy assistant to never mind you dont need to answer her question... right on my face...3: i was picking up some medicin for two different names and i told him Picking up for this name and this name , and he said donygive names at the same time ok , then after one month im picking up again i told him one name then his finish he gave me the first medicine for the first name and i said one more name for pick up and he said next time give me the other name right away..And there's many many more rudeness in this pharmacy people in this wallgreens.. the only nicest worker here is ( Juan ) very nice guy he used to work at wallgreens front street, Santa Cruz. He is very patient, nice, very helpful, and very respectful specially to older people...and the rest were so unkind, disrespectful, not helful...

The pharmacists at this particular one are always in the worst possible mood and extremely rude and condescending. They’ve hired new pharmacists and they always end up like the last after a few weeks. My guess is understaffed but who knows. I’ve seen them talk to elderly persons like mentally handicapped children. I had one pharmacist make me wait 3 days for my daily medication refill and she kept saying that the MD had never sent the prescription. I would go in circles with them and the MD about it. I even had the doctor check her fax record, orders, EPIC, everything and it all had been sent. Every-time I would go in to talk to the pharmacist (the phone would ring , someone would pick up and immediately send you to hold for 40+min) she would LAUGH at me and say I just “needed to wait like everyone else, it must be the doctors problem”I can’t imagine if you were someone who needed pain medication, diabetes medication, or some other life saving medication and being told that after several days of waiting and no answers. I didn’t expect her to magically make my prescription appear, but I did expect some tact and compassion. At the very least to release my prescription since the MD said they couldn’t write me a new one because this pharmacy had accepted it and it would look like I filled twice in one month!I complained to a supervisor because ultimately I felt this behavior was horrible customer service. The supervisor and the pharmacist talked privately while looking at me, he rolled his eyes and then came over to me and was even more rude. He was a brown haired mid twenties something, and said there wasn’t anything anyone could do.Long story short, just don’t go to this one. There are so many other pharmacy’s in town with kind staffed and well equipped persons, it’s not worth it.I ended up signing up for prescription online through a different company.
