“I can't overstate how amazing our wedding at the Hollins House was. The staff at the Hollins House made every step of the process fun and exciting. My wife and I had an incredible experience that exceeded any and all of our expectations. The venue speaks for itself, but the food, service, and atmosphere match it step for step. If you're looking the absolute most picturesque and perfect wedding you could ever imagine, I would highly recommend considering the Hollins House. Read Less”

“Attending my second "Santa Cruz Old Timers" luncheon held once a year since 1939. This just happened to be the 80th year it has been held, and, with a record attendance of 200. A low key meeting, luncheon and raffle without any dues, fees or other meetings the rest of the year. You need not be old to attend, just a resident of Santa Cruz County for 20 years, so a twenty year old born in the county may attend. Attendees are a mixture of regular citizens as well as Santa Cruz influentials and some politicians.”

“I was invited there for bingo. Didn't know what to expect, but the area was clean and well lit. Everyone was friendly and helpful. There was food there for sale, will definitely go again.”

“Not a fan of paying for parking in an area that isn't walking distance to the local attractions, however it was only $12. Otherwise very clean mid tier hotel. Good pool/hot tub.”

“Was shocked to see their rating on yelp so low; then again standards and expectations are different for everyone. With that said found booking cheaper through hotels own website than on booking.com. Booking was simple and quick pay on arrival and room selected was as advertised. Cost was reasonable when looking at comps in area. The hotel is extremely quaint and architecturally beautiful. Upon arrival receptionist Jessica was very friendly, professional & knowledgeable of hotel and surrounding attractions as well as accommodating. She had 2 rooms available under what I reserved, due to having young toddlers I asked if I could see both rooms and she was nice enough to show me both rooms. We decided on room 202 corner queen 2 beds ocean view, not on street level with only one neighbor/room next to us, with shared big patio. Room had modern design, huge shower with nice rain shower head. The stunning view from room is as advertised online; right across from the beach, wharf and boardwalk. & although being right across from beach & tourist attractions noise level wasn't bad at all plus quiet hours were respected by other guest during our stay. Hotel is pet friendly which is always nice. Close to local attractions and numerous restaurants. Overall great experience and hotel stay.”

“I discovered the Chaminade in October and stayed again this weekend for 2 nights and overall I think this is a really nice and unique place. And they are very dog friendly which is great for me because I take my dog everywhere. Overall the staff is great, all very friendly and they work hard to make your experience a good one. Very convenient to have a restaurant on site -- the food is above average and the staff is great ( always brought my dog water and treats). And the service is fast, we were getting our food within 20 minutes for the most part. I like the setup of the main building, with restaurant downstairs, has very nice tile work, railings and decor. The amenities are great -- I've used the pool and hot tub both times I've stayed and my kids really appreciate the facilities too. The grounds are really nice and the hiking trails are great because with them you pretty much have everything you need here for a short stay. The rooms are really nice, simple, clean and comfortable. The one complaint I have is that both times I've stayed here, my first room had A/C or heating problems so we had to move to different rooms. This time, the heating in my first room wasn't working and it was quite cold , so they gave us a new room -- everything was working and comfortable in that one. I will keep going back to the Chaminade since I think it's a great place and a good value for the money and my dog loves their biscuits !”
