Dr Ryle, Dr Berry and all of the support staff are fantastic and make every visit as stress free as possible. Dr Berry recently removed a large 2” cyst from the back of our 15 yr old cat, Koda. 4 weeks later the incision is barely noticeable and Koda is one happy country cat again. Thank you all!

As a formal employee this hurts to write, but they will rob you of your money at this location! They are very disorganized and do not communicate well! They are money hungry and will add to there estimates because as the manager said “This area is more higher cost”, I was quoted $850 and ended up paying over $2,000 never again VCA Animal Hospital of Santa Cruz

Was thinking about switching over to VCA since I have been there in the past with my other dogs but since they turned me in for not having a license for my dog I will not go back.

They saw my boy right away even though I was a traveler just passing through. Much appreciation.

I love taking Finn to Dr. Laura Ryle..she takes time to listen , and suggest treatment plan. She really listens to me, as well as Finn, and I really trust her knowledge.

Very nice and friendly front desk employees, the nurses and vet doctors are all very kind and helpful and treat your animal with care and compassion. Would 100 % recommend taking your pet there for whatever reason. They also have a couple of pet care plans, depending on the reason for your visit, at different price points, and will help you decide which one is best for your particular situation. It's a clean well run vet clinic and 5 stars in my opinion.

Find another vet with better trained staff and more time to pay attention. VCA Santa Cruz vet techs traumatized my 11-week-old puppy. They show no awareness of dog’s behavior needs — like to give them a few seconds to smell a instrument or hand before shoving a thermometer in their ear, or not to over-stimulate them before an invasive procedure). It seems like they prioritize squeezing the most appointments into a single day, rather than quality care/time. There was vomit in my dog’s carrier when I picked her up that went unnoticed by the staff. We found a new vet and I suggested others look elsewhere.

The VCA team really care about your pet family. They genuinely care about my senior pup and understand how important he is to me.

VCA has been my go to Vet ever since the first week that I adopted my pup a little over a year ago. She had a bad reaction to a vaccine she had gotten from the shelter. As a new dog mom, I was extremely concerned and due to the positioning, thought there was something wrong with her microchip, which had also just been put in. VCA got me in right away, even though I had called other, more urgent animal care centers who said they would not be able to see me.The people at VCA are so warm, sweet, friendly, put the animals at ease, and make sure your pet (and you!) feel fully taken care of at the end of your appointment. I had an appointment this morning for some routine vaccines and they took such great care of my dog, Stella. She can get a little bit nervous, but they made her feel right at home, let me be with her while she got her shot, and gave her so much love afterwards that she left there in great spirits! Big shout out to Melissa and Michelle at the front for being so welcoming and kind, and Ellen for administering the vaccine so well that my pup didn’t even seem to notice! Could not recommend this place more highly.

Very diligent and pleasant staff. Boomer had an ear infection that rendered him ill. I tried to get Boomer an immediate appointment with his regular vet to no avail. VCA realized the the symptomolgy and was able to get him in the same day.

VCA Santa Cruz has been a great experience so far. They have friendly staff, knowledgeable vets, reasonable prices, and they are usually able to accommodate last-minute appointments.

I have to write about this place in hopes it helps anyone else. Don’t bring your dogs here because they are not treated with decency. Dog trainers will ask you not to yell at your dog, and here, the tech, Tania, was yelling at my dog since we first walked into the door. She was yelling at him to sit on the scale. I was very much thrown off and didn’t expect this behavior. Then, when trying to check nugget’s ears, she basically sat on top of him (he’s less than 50 lbs), tighten his head and out with so much force. I had never seen anyone treat my dog like that and traumatize him the way they did. The doctor, Riley, an older woman who didn’t seem to care, allowed it and was also quite rude. On another occasion, there was a tech walking to dogs that she could not control. As I was walking my dog back to the car, they both got loose and charged at us. Luckily, I was able to shield Nugget, my dog. I was very upset, but I’m not one to cause conflict. When I went back for another appointment, I spotted the same tech walking the same two dogs on one hand, while looking at her phone on the other. I couldn’t believe that after the experience we had, she still did the same thing again.Be careful, and stay vigilant because animal cruelty is all over us, even with places we are supposed to trust.
