I just returned home after having such a wonderful experience at Ideal Jewelry..the owner and young woman working couldn't have been kinder or more helpful..I bought a Timex watch with expandable band and tried to make the band smaller by watching a youtube video.Long story short , I had heard about Ideal and went right down and within 20min. my band was fixed and the charge was so minimal..I highly recomend Ideal Jewelry especially since it's family owned..Thank you so much for your kindness..I will be back.Trina

I had a cross pendant that I wanted engraved with the word "תמשב", or "Thou Mayest" in English. They were the only Jewelry shop in Santa Cruz that was able to do engravings in languages other than English and English. All the people there are very kind and helpful. I also got a new chain from them for my cross and it is very high quality.

We were pleasantly surprised by the kind and efficient treatment we received at Ideal Jewelry when we visited to get a new battery for my husband's watch. We will definitely return to this business if we need any repairs, jewelry or even advice. Very kind proprietor!

Didn’t have the best experience. Was able to get my repair fixed but very poor communication on their end about price point. They told me they would fix it for 20$ and then they say 38 upon pickup. Next time make sure you have in firm writing the price point. Owner was able to negotiate and apologize but very upset with the service upon pickup.

They are always fast and efficient when replacing my watch batteries and adjusting watch band links. The gentleman is polite and prices are very reasonable.

I brought my necklace in to get repaired 2 weeks ago. It was supposed to be ready on December 11th, according to the man I gave it to. When I went to go pick it up yesterday (the 17th), I unfortunately had lost the ticket with the number he had given me as a receipt. This resulted in me having to wait 20 minutes to find my necklace from my name, since it didn't seem like they had much of an organizational system for people to pick up the jewelry (part of that was my fault though for not having the number). When they finally found it, it turned out that it wasn't polished, so they sent it back to get it polished, and told me it would take 10 minutes. After waiting 10 minutes, they told me that part of the chain broke again while polishing it, so it was going to take a while longer. Part of me thinks though that it was never repaired to begin with...I went back later to pick it up and when I first pulled it out of the envelope it looked good. However, when I went to pull it out of the envelope again this morning I noticed that part of a letter (it was a Hebrew letter necklace) had broken off, which was not the state of the necklace when I brought it in; I only brought it in to get the chain fixed. It seems like part of the letter must have broken off in the repair process and they did nothing to fix it and simply gave it back to me in that state, hoping I wouldn't notice. It was pretty cheap for the repair ($18), but honestly I wish I would've just put that towards getting a new necklace since it is now ruined and irreparable. I would not bring jewelry into this place to get it repaired again unforunately. UPDATE: I went back in and showed them that a piece had broken off when they polished it. They agreed to fix it for no charge. Unfortunately it still doesn't look how the letter is supposed to, they unfortunately made the broken letter look like a different one . I do want to give them credit for an honest effort, but I will still be getting a new necklace.

I got a watch battery replaced here. I did my internet research and brought my own battery. The store is a little cluttered in a "family business" kind of way, but the service was quick, successful, and reasonably priced. Eight bucks, ten minutes, in and out for what I wanted.

They did a beautiful job making a stone I found into a necklace and making a stud earring into a ring. I'd lost its pair. I'll go back.
