Valet parking only. Thin walls and we can also hear the upstairs guests.

Clean, comfortable, well-laid out place. This hotel lives up to many Hyatts that I have stayed at for reliable comfort in rooms and bedding, exceptional staff, and consistent breakfast and other amenities.

Great location with valet parking 24/7. A nice walk to the beach, shops and a music venue nearby. Friendly staff to greet you and comfy cozy clean rooms. Stayed on the third floor and enjoyed my stay. Gym, pool and hot tub available as well as a hot breakfast early mornings. The lobby has lots of seatings to relax, read or work. Bag hold came in handy as I didn’t want to leave luggage in my car. Will be back- thanks !!

Unfortunately, Santa Cruz is experiencing evacuation orders, king tides, and flooding at the coast and on the boardwalk. The only reason for the booking at the Hyatt was because of the the boardwalk. The manager Hector does not care that there are evacuation orders in effect, and a lot more rain on its way with potentially more evacuation orders to follow. Hector will only refund half of the booking, even though there is still 24 hours before the first day starts, and he will not budge about this. It doesn't matter that we've stayed at the Hyatt many times before in different cities and states, and he didn't care that we told him that we will not use his hotel again. We told Hector that a large percentage of his bookings are because of the boardwalk, and he knows that, but because they are downtown and about 1 mile away from the boardwalk he will not issue a full refund. There are even roads closed from flooding from the San Lorenzo River, and many other roads closed in the area including on Highway 17 and Highway 1.I asked to speak to somebody above Hector. He told me there is no one above him because this is a franchise and he is the top person at this establishment.I would've understood completely if there was some personal reason why we could not make it, but these reasons are out of our control.Buyer beware.

We had a blast. The hotel is clean, pool is heated during the Winter and is OPEN! You do have to pay a parking/valet fee if you are getting there by car, but most hotels charge some kind of fee these days! Better than the usual "free breakfast"! Nice gym that is open 24/7

Bed was very uncomfortable, could feel the coils in the mattress. Standard Hyatt room, just laid out slightly different.Breakfast was not good. Hyatt breakfasts have gone down hill. Not many places to eat within walking distance.Located in the middle of what seemed to be a residential area.Valet parking only.Staff was very nice. Can walk to boardwalk but it’s a pretty long walk and not open every day this time of year.

Had a very large room, Hotel was pretty empty and spacious, the hot tub was great, and the breakfast was good. I would definitely stay here againWalkability: It's close but not too close to the boardwalk and lots of convenience stores

As most Hyatts in CA I staid in last few years, this one was no exception. Spacious clean looking room smelled stinky feet which was grose. Loose shower head and buzzing up at night under window style air conditioning unit kept turning itself on even when switched off on thermostat. Two small items, hotel of this class should take care of. Hyatt don't. There's no parking on premises except valet which is $19 per night. No restaurant on site either, you can only order some simple appetizers by scanning barcode. Breakfast counter was really low with food served exposed without covers. We saw a kid walking around and caughing on every meal around the counter while trying to make a choice. Talking about covid spread prevention. Limited seats in dining area, be prepared to seat in the lobby or take your food to the room.Decent location from the famous Boardwalk takes 10min by foot. You will through residential area which after sunset may look sketchy with weirdos standing on street corners and taking to themselves or squatting on the sidewalk. Early morning on the 2nd day of our stay we saw 3 police cars in front of the hotel on the other side of the street, obviously taking care of some local business. There is a pool on site, it's open till late with swarm of small kids which can be a pain if you want to rest after road trip. So ask for room not overlooking at central patio/pool area.Thank god I paid with points, because service and accomodation I received here isn't worth $350 per night at all. Goodluck.

The rooms were not made up by 2:30 in the afternoon, we had been gone for 5 hours. They charged me $38 for a 9oz glass of wine when I questioned it she claimed that is how they billed as a half bottle when I wanted to buy the other half of the bottle she wouldn’t let me . I think this was a complete ripoff. The front desks never answers the phone . I would not recommend this place at all .Rooms: See above

Hotel looks clean and new. Definitely a lot of families with kids. We really enjoyed their breakfast as they had a lot of options from eggs, potatoes, cereal, etc - the usual fare but decent taste. The only downside I would say is that it is quite far from the beaches and could have been a walking distance, if the area was not so run down. We just spent 1 night there, but even on a 5 minute walk to a nearby restaurant, we didn't feel safe. Not the hotel's fault, but again their location isn't in the nicest part of town.Hot tub and pool were decent, but definitely lots of kids in both.

We opted for a less expensive hotel since we knew we’d be spending so much time off site, but I wouldn’t book here again. We had to request a room change because the AC was so loud. The AC was still loud, but since the climate was so moderate, we didn’t need to use it much. The best thing about the hotel is definitely the staff. They were all friendly and attentive. We didn’t use the outdoor pool or hot tub, but we all the screaming kids did! The walls are pretty thin, so we could hear people walking around. Fortunately, the door slamming issue in another review wasn’t an issue during our stay. The room is spacious and the bed was comfortable (not amazing, but adequate). The sheets were scratchy and the pillows were pretty bad (lumpy and thin). The TV situation is out-dated. Direct TV is terrible when it comes to programming choices. Infomercials or religious shows with a few other channel choices. A lot of reviewers rave about the breakfast, but it wasn’t all that impressive. I think it’s well suited for families with kids. Overall, this is a budget friendly option if you have kids, but not a great spot for a relaxing trip with your sweetie. Next time, we’ll spend to get more elsewhere.
