I am truly truly blessed that there's really really good people at graves that they feed us really well there and they give us a lot of good food banks

Great selection of items, especially furniture, antiques, yarn, and crochet and knitting supplies. Staff is courteous and provides great customer service. Plus proceeds from the store go to a great cause! I could not recommend this store more highly.

If you are looking for a treasure, here it is one of the best places to find a little of everything and at prices that I can take everything with me.
They have a section of plants, clothing, glassware, shoes, repair materials, electronic and computer accessories.
I have found some beautiful rugs for a good price and good quality.
The personnel is very friendly .
I like this place because there is a great variety in one place!
I went on March 25th, 2024 it was a good place good deals and staff is so nice

I love grey bears and will continue to go there, but I do have to say I had one of the worst experiences I've ever had at Gray Bears recently with the women that work in the clothing shop. Not only were they extremely disrespectful and rude, but they were very condescending and weren't very kind to me since I didn't have a lot of money as a college student they assumed I did have a lot of money and we're saying I should be able to afford what I was buying, but I had to put a few things away anyways. It made me uncomfortable and just not want to go back to the clothing shop.

We love to thrift shop. Today we made it just in time before they closed. I found great deals on some doll stands Ive been searching for. $2 each :) The thrift store has a nice selection of books, Checkout their calendar of deals. Parking is limited on the street. But they have more parking in the back of the buildings.

I was told by someone at the store that they are no longer fulfilling Amazon orders. They tried to remove themselves from Amazon but don't know how to stop orders being placed. The person responsible for shipping books is away for several weeks, and no one else knows what the hell to do. Do not order anything from them. I will be amazed if I see my money again :-(

Some excellent deals on medical supplies and equipment. Bookshop is excellent. Unfortunately, in the last year, prices have gone way up in the China section. And also in the last year, the clothing section, which used to be very clean and well organized, is now so full and disorganized that it’s very difficult to find anything you might seek. Please do something to improve the clothing area. Computer area very comprehensive and helpful staff there.

A pretty nice thrift store ! Found what I needed quickly. They have a 50% off sale every 2nd Saturday ! Good stuff. Reasonable prices on most stuff. Fairly good quality items. They also have a return policy for store credit if your item doesn't work or has a problem. Great ! A great resource for the Santa Cruz area. When I need something, I always check Gray Bears first !

Grey Bears prices have increased, things sit on shelves instead of moving. The place is overwhelmed with stuff. Instead of having the weird half off sales and whatever, just price things low and get them out. The clothing is the worse. Too much, too much. The more crap, the more your staff have to re-arrange, deal with and waste their time on. You have to turn sideways to get through the racks. Let the senior staff who've been there for years discount prices, let them judge - they know the place better than anyone. I've tried to donate nice clean children's clothes - they won't take kids clothes at all. Probably because there's no room. You can't tell me families aren't looking for small people clothes. Re-using clothes & getting things back out there is part of an ecological mandate. The site is a complete mess, the county tolerates a lot allowing this place to run. I wish Grey Bears was more dynamic, less stuffy and more in tune with their community.

Just drove 10 miles to drop off a cell phone, the guy says they are closed at 4 (it was 4:15), everything was still out on the shelves, and he said he absolutely can't take my cell phone! No empathy or respect, I guess he hates his job, or life, or both

The young blonde white girl that works at the drop off Donation is very rude & aggressive. We came to drop off some items after cleaning my grandmothers garage, and she instantly got aggressive with us. Didn’t want to take things which is totally fine but she was very rude. Told us to go use our own trash kind of unnecessary. I understand it’s a hard job, but if you don’t wanna work there and don’t enjoy interacting with people, maybe find a different place to work used to be a local community and centers now everyone seems to have an aggressive chip on their shoulder… and apparently they don’t except cardboard anymore. Don’t even ask she’ll get really upset. Lol

I've donated and shopped at Grey Bears for years and have always found great deals and some very nice things. The book store is immaculate and organized well. Kudos to all the workers who devote themselves to making it easy to find what you're looking for. I'm giving them 4 starts because of all the good Grey Bears does for the community but I truly feel they need to relocate to a bigger place. I've always found them to be bursting at the seams and would like to shop there more often but can rarely find parking. I can certainly understand why they have to limit people's donations of used items. I'm sorry to say that I've seen utter trash being dropped off by thoughtless people who should have taken those things straight to the landfill. No big surprise that they keep a trash dumpster right next to the donation area. Grey Bears should not have to be hauling off unusable discards to the dump because of careless donating. That said, although it has been a bit cumbersome at times to shop and donate items, Grey Bears remains a worthy organization doing the community a great service, and for that I'm grateful.
