I will refer to this establishment as Deadminican in my review. Let me begin by saying that I have a son who is 23 and severely handicap. He is in a wheel chare, does not talk, he needs everything done for him and needs 24/7 supervision. He had not been himself for a couple of weeks so I had some blood work done and come to find out his hemoglobin was dangerously low at 6.0. He was in need of a blood transfusion right away per is doctor. So, my Dr says to take him to Deadminican right away and that there will be orders already there to see him. We get there at 12:45pm and c heck in. The emergency room was full with lots of patients so I know it would be a wait but I had no idea what kind of wait it would be. They told us to wait outside because it was too full of sick people inside. We went outside and there were 3 benches that held 2 people each all in the blazing sun. We ended up having to wait 5 hours outside in the sun where we all got very sunburnt. My son is not allowed in the sun due to his condition and the meds he is on. They did not care at all when I asked to have somewhere else to wait. During our wait they did get him in for a blood test then sent us back outside to wait in the sun again. Blood test take 1-2 hours. After 3 hours I was asking for results. The little security man at the door was trying to prevent me from entering the ER after being in there several time to get blood test. While asking the nurse about the blood teat this little security man was in my face telling me I can not be in here and that I had to leave. I assured him I was just asking for some blood test results. He actually puffed his chest into my chest to keep me from walking to the desk to ask for blood results and continued to tell me to leave. I still did not get results and this stand off with the little security man caused the ER DR to come out and see what was going on. We discussed what was going on that we have been out in the sun for 5 hours, had a blood test 3 hours ago and wanted results. He realized our situation and got us a room in ER. When it came time to go back to his room this little security man tried to tell me I (my son's conservator) could not go back with him because I was being disruptive and only one person can go back because that is policy. Handicap kids need both of their parents with them when there is a stressful situation as going to the Hospital. You tell me is advocation for your handicap son who can not speak wrong and that up to this point had been treated like some Santa Cruz tweeker needing medical help. Well let me tell you how that went. We both ended up going back with him to help him for the other 10 HOURS it took to just get one bag of blood to give him. In all we were there for 15 hours of hell. Let me tell you, Deadminican is the worst (twilight zone) place on earth. The little security man was so rude and I hope that some day he too has a handicap child so he can understand what a douchebag he was to me and my family. I want him fired. I do have to say there were a couple of nurses that understood how to help people with special needs and were very kind and helpful but most treated him like a piece of meat. By 4:30am we had all we could handle. I had a nurse remove his IV after getting his blood and we went home. I am now going to Stanford Hematology where people know how to treat other with special need and not like a hunk of meat per their internal policies. Unless you want to be treat like a piece of crap, do not go to Deadminican or that is what you will be in the end.......DEAD!!!!

This used to be a wonderful lab, but things have radically changed. My husband needs a blood test once or twice a month. He has two different standing orders. They are constantly loosing one, so he has to wait around until they can get ahold of his oncologist. This is a big issue because this makes him miss more work. Also, they changed their whole check in process. What used too take 15 minutes takes over an hour. His doctor has dIscussed this with Dominican several tImes, but nothing changes, so his doctor is sending him to Quest in the future. On the other hand, the infusion center is very well run and has such a kind staff.
