Been coming here for years. In the past the clothing colors were like prison colors. But I went by to get some undies and the clothings are now bursting with color. The place is clean and well managed. I love the old school sewing machine that greets you at the door. I have a singer that is about 80 years old; so I like them old, they made them so pretty. The owner, Mr Dash; a sweet, insightful, kind man; listened to me draw on about tRumpTurd. Found him easy to talk to and will be back to ungraded my wardrobe. I like hemp as it does the least destruction to the earth. Buy local folks. Its good for our economy. Eschew big box stores and help the little owners still recovering from the Pandemic. And avoid Amazon as bozo, the richest man on the earth who refused to put part time workers on health insurance then dipped into their paycheck to steal. If you are a union person, due boycott Amazon. Theft. Amazon concluded a settlement with the Federal Trade Commission Tuesday to pay a total of $61.7 million that it had taken out of drivers' paychecks over a two-and-a-half-year period, from 2016 to 2019. Richard Dash and his Dash Hemp store offer great products and impeccable service. I called the store to correct some errors I made online when I placed an order and Mr. Dash took care of me personally. He corrected everything for me and sent the right product out immediately. I was surprised and grateful. This is my third shirt from Dash Hemp so I obviously approve of them. Thank you!

It’s great to find sustainable clothing right here in Santa Cruz. The owner is very helpful. He explained all about how good hemp is for the environment. The selection changes all of the time so I will keep going back.

Great service . I ordered the wrong size and Richard Dash sent the return label with no hassle . I have lost 35 plus pounds during COVID and I didn't allow for size difference. With his guidance I ordered the same tee shirt in a smaller size . They are so so comfortable and feel great . I am ordering other products . Jay

Happened to discover the store in the Old Sash Mill by accident one day. Went in to check it out. Great selection of men's and women's products. I bought a pair of hemp pants and very much enjoy the comfort and that they're antimicrobial. Claimed the discount from Yelp and went in to buy a shirt. The owner said he wasn't honoring any promotionals since he says the prices are as low as possible. However since I was a return customer he did make it worth my while. If you want to support the hemp industry and have some casual yet not too casual clothes you should stop in. Take a left when you see Pacific Cookie outlet and then another left.

I had discovered Dash Hemp on Amazon several months ago. I had made a Power Point board, with some of their tees and over shirts, all which mostly compliment each other in color contrast. I'd say, this is a big strength of this business. However, you'll see photos of some of their shirts, in colors, which they do not have in stock and which they don't know if they'll get or not. Not all styles are offered in all sizes, at least online, but they may have one or two in stock at their store. I had ordered three long sleeved Horizon tees, all of which are generously cut. Unless you like very loose clothing, as I do, you might wish to order down in size on a couple of their products. A phone call to them would be best, in this case. The owner, Richard Dash is extremely personable, as is his office manager, Lynn. I was quite impressed with the three l/s tees quality and design features and decided to order two l/s button downs. The quality seemed to match the other shirts I'd ordered,but were unfortunately cut just a bit too small for me, unlike the pull overs. Knowing I'd been in Santa Cruz after Christmas, I hung onto the two button downs and retuned them in person, as I wanted to try on other button downs and tees. As a side note, all of the shirts I tried seems to be quite substantial in weight. These are not thin, cheap shirts, but instead high quality fabric, mostly made of hemp with a smaller percentage of cotton, depending on the style. I was introduced to hemp, as it has the look of linen, comfortable in most types of weather and mostly because it doesn't wrinkle like linen does. It also has a nicer drape. My wife perused through their racks and found a couple for me to try on. Of note, the cut on the same size was not the same, so trying on each shirt was necessary. Richard found one, which was cut a bit more generously and which looked great with all colors of tees underneath. While I was offered a complete refund for the two returned shirts, I was also offered additional merchandise above the store retail prices. It pays to shop directly from the store, as the prices are 20-30 percent below internet retail, which can be substantial, if you buy several items. Richard had a couple of Horizon tees in short sleeve, in the back and both were great colors for what I had already. I tried one on and knew it worked for me and was quite comfortable. I bought a pair of hemp socks to make up the difference of what would have been refunded and I had been interested in them, before coming in. I've worn them twice already and their antimicrobial property, which hemp offers, keeps odors away. No smelly socks here! The socks were nicely cushioned on the foot bed and hold up nicely. These are definitely quality socks, not too thick or thin. If your curious about them, order just one pair to try. Most likely, you'll want to order more. If you decide to visit the shop, be advised that it is not easy to find! A sign was placed at the corner of River at Potrero, indicating the shop was down the street. But as with many Santa Cruz addresses, there doesn't seem to be any rhyme or reason on the street numbering system. Santa Cruz is a funky and quirky place, but lots of fun, once you get somewhat acquainted with it. It's very easy to drive by yet Sash Mill complex as the street number 303 is not easily seen. As you turn onto Potrero from River, you'll easily see the even numbered addresses on the left side of the street, though they start high and go down, from 308 to 300. Across the street is a small coffee shop, with the number 317. I inquired about 303 and was generally pointed in the right direction, but where you expect 303 to be is the operation yard of some industrial businesses. You need to keep driving down Potrero and make a right what appears to be a completely different unnamed street, but in actuality is a driveway into the 303 Sash Mill complex.
