Amazing family owned paper and printing shop. They sell unique paper and wonderfully organized notepads. They use classic printing methods that result in a far superior quality product than digital prints!

I needed special printing paper, wanted to support local. Looked on google. Found this place. Called and confirmed they had what I needed. Walked in and was blown away by the customer service, how quick I was in and out, and kindness. They even gave my toddler a free gift. Hoping more people know about this place to keep supporting local small businesses. Plus very tidy inside store, easy parking.

Darco is a blessing on Santa Cruz

The owner is trying to bill/MAKE MONEY OFF A MAN who has autism for making his business ADA compliant. This is required by law and is federal law. It was out of ADA accessibility for wheelchairs compliant for a decade or more. And not till the car accident did the owner decide to get compliant and upgrade but hopes to get someone ELSE but himself to pay $ for it. The street is completely messed up on Doyle st and I will attach photos of the ridiculous street that caused a NON injury car accident. Who is supposed to fix this street? The business owners? The City or County of Santa Cruz. If you look on Google it's been like this going back to 2011 but likely longer. The cracks are so bad in the pavement coming out of whole foods onto Doyle there is grass growing out of them! This is NOT actually "family owned" as most of the reviews say. The couple that runs it are leasing/renting it from the owner. The owner of this store is Howard Allen and NOT The couple who work there. HE SHOULD HAVE MADE THIS ADA /AMERICAN'S WITH DISABILITY ACT COMPLIANT A LONG TIME AGO. NOT DO IT NOW AND BILL A GUY WITH AUTISM. Disgusting. Driver had full car insurance so Allen can take the insurance payment but he wants MORE and for the upgrades to be fixed that he was already required to fix per law. THE OWNER HAS PUT A FAMILY THRU UNDUE STRESS BECAUSE HE IS GREEDY. IT IS BAD ENOUGH TO HAVE A SCARY CAR ACCIDENT AND THIS MAN HAS NOT ONCE SHOWN ANY CONCERN OR HUMAN CARING. SOMEONE IS NEGLECTFUL HERE BUT WHO? Whoever is supposed to keep Doyle st in working order is negligent and should be held responsible. You have a moral AND legal obligation to make your small business accessible for wheelchairs. It is not something you do cuz you think you can force someone else to pay for it. Taking advantage of a bad situation. The car accident was unfortunate and very upsetting for all involved. The main thing is NOT ONE PERSON WAS HURT. But now the owner of Darco wants to profit? Come on.

They are OPEN. Front building is being renovated. Just need to walk down the driveway to the left. I needed to send a fax quickly. Called and Beverly answered all my questions. Got there and she helped me out with my fax. They have a nice selection of office and work stationary. Will definitely be back and support this business.

This is where I buy all of my paper supplies for art projects. I would not even think of going anywhere else. You can get wonderful card stock for absurdly low prices. I was horrified when I found out that the business had shut down temporarily because someone under the influence had slammed his car right into the storefront -- while one of the owners was in the building. I'm glad to report that they have reopened in the building that once served as their storage space, in a space adjacent to the original and still-damaged building. Darco deserves our support. I feel inspired just walking through the aisles.

Even after the front of their business was destroyed by an impaired driver, Darco Printing and office supply continues to serve the community from the back of the building. This amazing local business is celebrating 50 years of service. As always, the city is taking forever to approve repairs. Please help support this great husband and wife team and do your shopping/printing locally. Always personal service with a smile. (Walk down the driveway next to the building for temporary entrance)n

Locally owned and operated. Good selection. Reasonable prices. [Yelp would not let us post the above, saying, "Your review seems a little short." Yeah, because nothing more need be said about a 1950's style shop that refreshingly has no website and is not screaming Facebook in our face. Is this enough mindless yelping to post our review?]
