My daughter and I decided to go into this shop and instantly regretted it, the person behind the counter did not greet us and immediately began hovering over us, bummer we were so happy to go in. we were very uncomfortable and did not end up buying anything for that reason.We usually got to the childish in the other location and never had a bad experience, however the one downtown was very disappointing.I talked to my co-worker about this and she told me she had a similar experience with same worker and store.Not very welcoming... was a larger woman working.

Omg this store is amazing. I want all their toys and we went for my 5yo. The amount of calico creatures they have is impressive! What got my attention was the rainbow display and a Dolly Parton tote ^__^ the owners love of toys, representation, and authentic existence is inspiring. It gave me hope to hear about story-time. Their associate that helped us (and successfully up-sold me) was delightful. Glad we came and love all the toys my child picked.

Childish toy store downtown Santa Cruz has decided vulgar greeting cards with F words are appropriate for a CHILDS store . Even my kids were like "that's sad they're even in our stores" . yuck

Toys look great, but *does NOT* have children's clothing to speak of. (Just a few t-shirts and ball caps, nothing for babies.)

Friendly staff here! Very nice collection of jelly cats. Small selection of legos and children toys. Cute little toy shop!

I love shopping local and this store has a great selection for all ages of children. Staff is extremely helpful. I want to bring my grandkids with me so they can pick out future gifts for themselves.

Not large but full of wonderful treasures. Just down the street from the Pride Center, this gem is super LGBTQA+ friendly with flags and stickers and such. Filled with toys from Legos to learning items like the bug magnifier I bought, I can not recommend Childish highly enough. Most importantly, the employee was super helpful and engaging. Not at all like the big box stores.
