This review is not for the bowling alley as much as the surrounding patrons and lewd bar dwellers and lurch around like cackling sea hags at the bowling alley in santa cruz..please ladies that patron the santa cruz boardwalk and stalk the men their in and including the BOWLING ALLEY..women like myself and my children on a trip to Santa Cruz are INFURIATED by your disgusting parading, bending down, soliciting, etc of our men folk!! My husband and teenage child were solicited at the bowling alley by scantily clad very young ladies that appeared to be at the very least between the age of 12 and 16!!! Due to the recent news in the santa cruz area that has been plaguing young ladies illegally, we will not be returning to santa cruz until this horrible display is irradicated. Santa Cruz should be for families, CHILDREN, and for people that want to be a kid for a day..it is a VACATION SPOT!! My family went bowling, and we had to leave from the bowling alley and the incident almost destroyed our family vacation!

We got our names in and in the first round lane wouldn't rest after a 9 pin hit and then again for the next person after a strike. We went to get our money back and they refused to give the full amount and would only refund half (while the employees were laughing at us) because "their system" wouldn't let them. Manager was supposedly on break. Nope.

Picked up a "club" sandwich to go. 1, A club sandwich is supposed to have 3 layers of nicely toasted bread, our sandwich had just two pieces and was barely toasted. 2, a club sandwich is supposed to have bacon & avocado ( and said was included on the menu description) but both of which were missing as well as lacking a decent amount of lettuce and dressing. 3, the meat on the sandwich was flavorless and reminded us of bargain store bought cheap turkey. For $20, this sandwich was a joke and a complete rip-off. If feel like if we had said we were eating in, we probably would have gotten a better meal, but this felt like highway robbery.

I love this alley . Dave the old pro bowler is a legend and always helpful to lend a helping handAnd this new employee Heidi . She is on top of her stuff. Always coming around checking in on the guests and bussing people’s tables . What a lovely lady!

Fun place. I've been going there since the 80s, when I was a kid - back when it was "Surf Bowl" and it's essentially the same. Only real difference is now it's a bit more modernized for younger crowds... which is probably a good thing. I went on a Weds night and it was fairly busy, but weekends are generally pretty packed.All in all it's a good place for bowling - fun for you and your family and or friends whether you're in your late teens or late 70s (I've taken my mother in law before). Good stuff!

I bowled an extra shot, and my entire group was yelled at by a male employee. He "banned" us saying we should never come back because now he has to reset the pins. The pins are reset at the start of each game, so he doesnt actually have to do anything to solve the "problem" I created by bowling an extra shot. It seemed like it was blown out of proportion, and they never took a picture of me so the "ban" seems childish. I don't live in the area and usually bowl in my hometown with no issues.
