Auto-Motives has become SNOOTY. I have brought my truck here for repairs in the past. This time, they said they didn't want to work on it because it was too old (2001 Ford F350) and too many miles.

I'm giving three stars because I can't vouch for their work or quality of service. What I can say is that I called requesting a ball park price for replacement of shocks. The woman was friendly but said it would be $85 to inspect the shocks and "shocks range from all different costs depending on vehicle make and model." Well, I didn't push it, nor did I make a stink about it. I just simply called other places that provided a ball park quote and inspection of shocks for FREE.

Josh, Greg and Dana were such a pleasure to work with! I had my differentials re-geared on my F-250 and everything went perfectly smooth. They also installed an extra leaf spring for my rear suspension and an air-bag system for towing. Communication was awesome and I love the results!Services: Transmission

Leaky seals rear axel and pinion seal , rush job and did not install correctly , I do not recommend this shop .

Josh always provides great service and he is very friendly and great with communication. Their prices match up exactly to what you'd expect, you won't ever get ripped off at this place. Service is always quick. Everyone there has great communication, is very friendly, and I know I can trust them to look out for my vehicle. They're always checking to make sure everything looks good even if I don't ask, which is great because it gives me some peace of mind. They always inform me if something else needs servicing besides what I brought my car in for so you will never ever get workers who are just looking to do the bare minimum to get your money. I will always bring my vehicles to auto motives as well as recommend them to anyone who needs servicing. I have a Cadillac, which isn't the easiest of cars to work on, and most shops would charge extra just for the brand name, but this place beats the dealership and other shops in every way. Hands down the most trustworthy auto repair shop in the county.

My boss referred them to me 4 years ago now I bring both my vehicles here, a 2007 F150 and a 2018 Toyota Camry. Never have they price gouged me or taken advantage of me. They listen to me and don’t disregard what I have to say about the problem I want them to look at. For the Camry, they took over regular maintenance when the warranty ended with the dealership, they are so much faster, less money and do all the same routine stuff! I recommend this shop for any reason you need a mechanic!

I am so incredibly impressed with Auto-Motives and thier crew!! I had my 7.3 Excursion towed in to them last week. Finding a good diesel mechanic in Santa Cruz is slim pickings. Our friend gave them an excellent referral so there we went. Greg called me the next day with some choices and was completely supportive of all of my questions. He was kind and forthcoming and most importantly, he listen to me with enthusiasm. I called Greg back yesterday with the direction I wanted to go and he was right there with me on it. He called me today to inform me, We.Are.FIXED!!! I have to say.... Engines are Engines.... they are the constant. What makes this shop exceptional is the service and they have that 10 fold! I'm so glad and thankful. Josh, Greg and the crew will forever have our business and they will be the ONLY shop I refer. Thanks again Auto-Motives!!

This place has helped me out twice over the years, with my 7.3 L 2002 E350 camper van. Once with an oil leak and once with a fuel leak. They are very professional and knowledgeable and I am really grateful that there exists a diesel mechanic like this in Santa Cruz. They are a small operation so I imagine your mileage could vary if they were too busy and you were in a hurry, but I've gotten lucky both times, they are very flexible and accommodating and knowledgeable. 10 out of 10 would come here again.Service: General repairs & maintenance
