1st gym experience so I do not have anything to compare to. BUT there are things that need to be addressed. Cleaning. The drains in the shower smell, the same moldy spots have been in the showers since I joined in January. The roof leaks in spots when it rains. People sit on equipment for 10 minutes and play on their phone then work out for 2 minutes. The name should come with 24 hour access. Why 4 stars? I knew the hours when I signed up. The staff has ALWAYS been friendly every single visit and they have made some repairs. When equipment goes down within 2 weeks or so it tends to get fixed. Please address the issues, showers should not smell like sewage and should not be getting moldy. I don’t expect you to police gym members who have a 10 minute rest for every minute long set but a little more than a sign would be nice. I wouldn’t want someone to go off on me for pulling my phone out for 2 seconds to switch a song. But there are a growing number of people that are always on their phone.

I signed up not realizing they were closed during some of my favorite workout times. I should have checked the hours here before signing up, but to be fair, it's not unreasonable to assume a 24-hour gym is open 24 hours, just saying. I'm tempted to file a report with the BBB for false advertising. Only reason I didn't try to cancel when I figured that out is because I'm moving to a different area with a better 24-hour fitness that's actually 24 hours, so I only have to deal with these people for a little while. Also this location is crowded, filthy, and has rude employees. Fortunately, the convenience of nationwide access means I can overlook one lousy location. I'll make sure the new location is getting my money when I renew, assuming they're franchises.

This is one of the few indoor pools around, but the locker room and shower area is thoroughly disgusting.

Lacks basic equipment, in a general state of disrepair. Even the name is a lie. Much better gyms in the area.

No policy about idiots sitting on a machine preventing other from using while they surf their phone. The pool water is filthy (chemically seems fine but sooo much gunk and debri in the water indicating that they are not turning the water through the filter enough). It's really disgusting. Come on management, you made things a little better by enforcing membership rules now take the next steps!

Staff here are deceitful and will sell you memberships under false pretenses. They sold me a year long membership that they said would NOT automatically renew. This was a lie as it did in fact renew and charge me with zero warning. When confronted about it the general manager called me a liar. The General Manager at this location was extremely rude and condescending and from what I can gather many other customers have had similar experiences with her. This specific 24 hour fitness is also disgusting. Equipment and Bathrooms are never cleaned. This is well documented by many other customers. The only response anyone get’s is the automated corporate response.Gyms in Hell would have friendlier staff and cleaner restrooms than this pathetic excuse for a gym.

This is ONE of many reviews I have to give Santa Cruz, CA 24 hour Fitness. But, this one is "dedicated," to one specific employee by the name of Delilah. Every, I mean every, interaction I have had with this young lady has been unprofessional. Today, was the cherry on top of the cake. Delilah's telephone skills is just as bad as interacting in person. I always tell folks, treat everyone with kindness no matter their race; gender; etc. Well, I've seen Delilah treat those of other ethnicity with more respect, than someone of my ethnicity. I love my black skin ??. So, ma'am, I pray this here review gives you the SIGN you need to change and deal with ALL your prejudices. God bless ya. (Later reviews for this specific location to come in the near future).

This place is horrible. All the equipment is sweaty and is greasy all the time and is not cleaned. It smells like a dog took the biggest s*** ate it and threw back up again and then was put under a hot light and left out. Also one time when I was there I went to the bathroom and there was to dudes f****** in the stall next to me it made me wanna join kinda. The manager was also very mean to me. Also a 500 dollar 6 month charge is crazy. 1 star review not bussin

Equipments in the weights room are extremely old. Especially the smith machine. It's super old and the weights as well. I go here since I have a membership for all of California so I come here when visiting family, but my oh my. This gym is rather small and there's only one in Santa Cruz! The restrooms are also quite dirty and need cleaning up.

I used to love this gym, and I’ve been a member on and off for a couple years now. I signed up for this gym THINKING it would be open 24 hours. It’s not. This gym either needs to rebrand and lower their prices, or go back to being open 24 hrs. I will be looking for another gym to go to since this one cannot fulfill my needs. It’s been 3 years, and the national emergency for covid ended on May 11th and there’s still no sign of this gym returning to being open for 24 hours. It’s kind of ridiculous that I’m paying $55 a month for a gym that’s advertised as being open for 24 hours, but it’s not. It seems like every single 24 hour fitness except for the one in Santa Cruz is open for 24 hours. I just got turned away because they’re closing at 9pm. Even the UCSC gym closes later than that. And I’m going to have to go all the way to San Jose just to use a gym now. Not a happy camper.

Not allowed to perform physical therapy in weight lifting room, other rooms were being used for classes so we to the weight room. After about 10 minutes one of the employees told us that we can't have people doing PT in the weight room. Seems odd for a gym to say this. I was previously talking to an employee at the front desk about buying a year long membership but the employee who asked us to stop, did not give a reason, just said you can't do that here. Her crappy attitude convinced me not to become a member. God forbid someone becomes healthier in there, they even had medicine balls on a rack next to us for PT. The employee is woefully uninformed and uncaring about members health and wellbeing, a liability for her company.
