I can't thank Dr. Yao and the team enough for their incredible care during our dog’s recent medical emergency. We had no appointment and were understandably stressed, but they got us in right away.
Dr. Yao was not only professional but also compassionate, taking the time to thoroughly explain everything that was happening. The staff was attentive and supportive, making sure we felt comfortable throughout the process.
It’s clear that they genuinely care about the animals and their owners. Thanks to their quick and effective response, our dog is recovering very well. I highly recommend this veterinary clinic for anyone in need of urgent care or routine visits. You’re in great hands here!

All of the staff at Valencia Veterinary Center truly go above and beyond for their patients. We recently went for a screening visit for the first time and felt welcomed as if I had been a long time patient. My senior dog does not look foward to vet visits, but the staff were very patient and incredibly compassionate with him. I look foward to future visits knowing my fur baby, Bombón, will be well taking care of.

I have used VVC for 15 years. They were always good to my pets. Dr. Grewal treated my dog’s lymphoma and gifted her another 7 years of life. Now they are under new management and they are even better. I brought my cat in because she couldn’t use her back legs anymore. Doctor Yao saw my cat. I was floored by this man’s compassion, knowledge, and humbleness. This man is one in a million. He spent a long time examining my cat and explaining everything and all possible factors with such thoroughnesses and in a way that was easy to understand. Like a teacher. I am so grateful for Doctor Yao. I can say with confidence that if you have not taken your pet to see him then you have not experienced the way a veterinarian should be. This man is such a great human being. One in a million.

So I had the worst experience with Valencia veterinary center. I took my dog down and I needed to get him an appt ASAP. I called 4 different vets and this one had the soonest appt so I took it. They charged me $460 to sedate my dog, clean his wound and give me medication. I had the same procedure done at Pets R Us in Palmdale for half that price! That’s not the worst of it though. Once we got all the way home I was looking at my dog’s gauze that was around his leg and I noticed a small plastic cylinder underneath the gauze. (I live an hour and a half away from scv it’s a far drive). I called them and they asked me to bring him all the way back so they can take out his IV! They left the IV in my dogs leg! I was beyond angry and upset, the receptionist I was speaking to about it was a bit rude and kept telling me just to drive all the way back. I then spoke to the doctor and she was very non chalant about it and didn’t say much about it except the fact that I can just go to my local vet to get it removed for free. Luckily I do have a local vet and they were able to get it out. (I don’t go to that vet because it’s too expensive) She then hung up on me after giving me a lame apology. This whole experience was horrible for $460 there should have been no issues like that. It was purely irresponsible and they were insensitive. I would never recommend them to anybody!

Absolutely terrible place that tries to scam you out of your money. They tried to charge me $642 to euthanize my dog. That is almost double the national average for the high end! They also charged me $100 just to look at my old dog and say “yup, she’s old.” Stay away from this place if you don’t want to get ripped off.

We absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE Dr. Yao and his techs at Valencia Vet! I was hesitant to bring my kitty Bagel here because 5 years ago I was told by a vet that my dog was in her “final end stages” when she in fact was not and lived for another 5 and a half years, however, I took a limb and brought him back to this vet and I am so thoroughly pleased. Dr. Yao is without a doubt, the most educated, professional, kindest vet we have ever been to. His bedside manner is spectacular and you can tell he is so genuine and really cares about his patients and his craft. My fiancé and I have both agreed that if he ever left, we would follow him to whatever location and that he is better than even our human doctors! The receptionist and vet techs have also been incredibly kind and knowledgeable as well. We are very happy we gave this location another chance and is now our permanent vet office. Thank you for taking care of Bagel Dr. Yao!

I'd give my experience 10 stars if I could! I visited VVC for the first time a couple of days ago, and Dr. Yao and tech Shevin blew me away. From the get-go, Shevin took a thorough history,
including minute details even about my baby's parents. Dr. Yao then performed a head-to-toe exam and took the time to walk us through his findings. What really stood out was their kindness, patience, and compassion. They worked with me to create a personalized care plan that fit my budget. I've never met a more knowledgeable, thorough, and caring vet and tech duo in all my years as a pet owner. Their expertise is truly invaluable. I'm so grateful for their exceptional care! Dr. Yao took the time to thoroughly explain the vaccine routine and potential reactions, tailoring his advice to our specific needs. Just as we were wrapping up our appointment, a dog suddenly collapsed at the entrance. Without hesitation, Dr. Yao and the tech sprang into action, rushing to the dog's aid and carrying him inside. What really impressed me was their genuine concern and compassion, they even followed up with us to check on our pet after his first vaccine! It's clear that these exceptional professionals prioritize the well-being of their patients, treating them like family rather than just clients. I'm eager to continue our care with these wonderful professionals, knowing we're in the best hands. Looking forward to our next visit!

Utterly awful. Avoid. Had multiple bad experiences over 2 years.
They only care about the money, not the pet or the parent.
We question their knowledge and expertise as well.

This was my fourth time at Valencia Veterinary Center. The first 3 times I was there for emergency situations. This time I was seen as a walk in for an acute issue that my dog was having because I could not get in to see his regular vet until the next day. If I could rate my experience higher than 5 stars,
I would.
For starters, I called at 5:15pm and spoke to Jennifer, who was not only kind and understanding of my situation, but so very helpful! She assured me that as long as I arrived before 6pm, I could be seen as a walk-in. Before I arrived she had already filled the staff in on my dog’s situation and checked us in. She also spoke with me while I was anxiously waiting in the waiting room for my dog who was not doing well.
My dog was seen by Dr. Yao - I do not think in all of my years as a pet owner that I have ever dealt with a more kind, compassionate, and thorough veterinarian. After he examined my dog, he took the time to go over his entire head to toe assessment with me, explained my dog’s plan of care, and allowed me to alter it as I saw fit for our situation. While he was talking to me, one of the veterinary technicians, Brianne, was with him, and she was so kind throughout. She also took the time after Dr. Yao was done to explain all of my dog’s new medications, and she even emailed me some additional information after we had left to go home which I appreciated so much!
I really cannot say enough great things about my most recent experience. The staff was all so kind and helpful, and it made my situation so much more pleasant and less scary. Thank you to everyone involved in my dog’s care. You are all angels in my book.

I had a bad experience with Valencia Veterinary Center and would not recommend them.
I found a kitten on the 170 freeway. She seemed OK amazingly but I wanted to get her checked out. I called Valencia Veterinary Center to see if they had an appointment and they said they did, but that they also have walks ins. They said the vet usually goes to lunch but that since I was on the way they would take her now.
When I came in, my son and I were the only people in the lobby. They came and took my kitty and told us they didn’t allow the owners in the exam rooms. This was the first red flag for me and I asked if they could please put me in one of the rooms with her.
They had her for a full hour and at this point I was getting nervous. I asked if I could please just take her. A guy came out and spoke to me (not sure if this was the vet) and told me they found something wrong with her spine and that she needed x-rays and also that she needed to be dewormed. They also said she was 3-4 weeks old.
I waited another 15 minutes and then asked if I could please just have her back. By this point another walk-in client came in and they actually brought her and her dog to room for the exam, so alarm bells were going off for me.
They would not give her back to me unless I paid $145. They told me it was more money because I was a walk in (they did not mention this on the phone). I paid to get my kitty back. I believe this is extorsion, and will be looking into it. They did not give me any breakdown, summary or receipt. I didn't even get to talk to a veterinarian. What did I pay for?
I then took my kitty to Treehouse Animal Hospital. They did a thorough exam and found NOTHING wrong with her spine and also suggested testing her poop before deworming since she was so little.
DO NOT go to this place. Please read all the bad reviews on Yelp before bringing your pets there, I wish I did.

Very friendly staff. Dr Yao was very detailed in his explanation of my dog’s symptoms. Yes there was a little bit of wait, but understandable as there were a couple of emergencies. Overall, I’d recommend this office for your pet’s needs!

Great vet in town. I had a positive experience with the entirety of my visit. Most of the staff seem to actually like their job and take good care of the pets that come in from what I have seen. Will visit them again for future pets.

My dog had an eye infection and I was unable to get my dog into her vet all week. I had previously used Valencia Veterinary with my previous dog and while I received good service, I had issues with the owner and his method of business. Now that ownership has changed I thought I’d give it a try. I was able to get my dog in the day I called and was seen by Dr Yao. He was extremely thorough, explained everything he was going to do. Dr Yao even checked with me the next day to see how she was doing. My experience with Dr Yao and everyone I met with there was excellent.
