If you need an engine to be rebuilt or need machine work JGM performance is the place to go. I got my engine machined and rebuilt. I had an idea of what parts I wanted and they guided me to what will make power and torque. They explained everything they were doing to the engine and keeping me updated for any little changes or problems that came up. JGM is the place to go if your want professional work down to your engine.

Super good and qualified people that will help you through any engine machine shop needs. Ryan is just the best...despite that I was just having work done on a simple old Jeep flat head engine, he treated me like one of his best race motor customers. Best experience possible.

I have a 1969 Ford Ranchero with a 250 cu. in. I-6. It is a car that has been in the family since my grandfather bought it new. My dad drove it for a few years after my grandfather couldn’t any more and then I acquired it. Around 134K the engine started getting tired consuming a bit of oil and hard to start due to fouled plugs and low compression in a couple of cylinders. I also couldn’t keep radiators in it because the head gasket was probably leaking. There is no reputable machine shop/engine builder in Ventura to do the engine block and head together that I could find. I ran in to a friend of my dad’s and asked him who he used and he referred me to Ryan over at JGM Performance in Valencia. I called Ryan and we talked about my engine and the rebuild. He was very honest and up front about every aspect of the process. I had to wait a couple of months until he could schedule my engine in. Ryan called me out there a couple of times during the build to view the progress and see their opperation. Ryan and his employees do very professional and detailed work. I got the completed engine back after a couple of months. It turned out beautiful, like a piece of art. I got the engine and transmission back in the car and running maybe 5 days after getting it back. It fired up and it ran great after a couple of adjustments. I am very happy with the overall experience.

We set a date for Friday, I took the day off from work and had a 2 hr drive to give this guy my business. When I show up it's a ghost town, I kept calling and waited outside for another 2 hrs thinking they're maybe on lunch and nothing, that guy left me hanging. They never answer the phone and they operate out of a U-Haul rental shed. FTP for wasting my time. Unprofessional all the way.

My dad and I were looking for an engine builder to build a big block Ford for our 1967 F100. We found JGM by reading through a few Motor Trend articles. We drove up to Santa Clarita from Orange County and met Ryan. Ryan is a Ford engine guy and was very excited to build the 460. He even helped us find the 460 block to start our project. Ryan took over an hour out of his day to talk about the possibilities of this engine. He is extremely knowledgeable on the engine building process, very transparent, trustworthy and a genuine good guy and pleasure to talk to. We made the long drive to Santa Clarita multiple times and had numerous telephone conversations during the process. No matter how busy Ryan was he always took the time to talk to us and treated us with respect, this is a true reflection of his character. Ryan walked us through every step of his build process and their work is top notch. We got to watch a couple dyno pulls and this engine is a beast! Can’t wait to put it in our truck and are looking forward to coming back to JGM for another build. 5 star service from Ryan and the guys at JGM.

First and foremost I would like to thank Ryan and the JGM team for making this process of building an engine for my corvette one of the most fun experiences I've had with my corvette to date. Ryan has kept me involved and informed in the entire process and it's just been easy. I knew I chose the right shop when I visited the shop and Ryan and Gerry (I believe his name was) were welcoming and excited to show me my engine and EXACTLY what's been done to it. It's so hard to find shops that put pride into what they do and this shop certainly does. They stand by their engine building and repairs and put a whole lot of pride and love into everything they do. I will do business with no other engine machining shop and if you want a bomb proof engine built with love and years of experience, you should as well. Thanks JGM.Service: Motor building

My wife’s 2006 Tacoma 4.0L V6 needed a head gasket replaced at 275k miles. I decided to tackle the job myself and quickly realized the easiest way to do this was to remove the motor. After removing the motor and both heads, I realized the way to do the job right was to have the heads rebuilt and sealing surfaces refinished. By the way, resurfacing the sealing surface is a must if you are using the factory multi-layer steel gaskets. Asking around work, JGM Performance Engineering or “Jim Grubbs Motorsports” for the old schoolers, kept coming up as the place to go. I spoke with Ryan, the owner of JGM, and immediately I knew this was the right place to go. Ryan is extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of engine rebuilding and will answer all of your questions honestly. As an engineer, I tend to do my research and have learned the devil is in the details with this type of work. And JGM pays attention to those details and will get it right the first time. Even though they specialize in American engines, Ryan’s assistant Machinist used to work extensively on Toyotas and did a great job on the heads. I couldn’t be happier with the outcome. Both heads were rebuilt beautifully, sealing surface machined immaculately, and valve lash set exactly to manufacturer specifications. Almost forgot to mention, they polished the crankshaft and did a phenomenal job, as well as obtained the correct surface finish without taking off any material from the bearing journals. After it took me 2 months to reassemble the motor by myself, I can safely say the heads and crankshaft perform as desired. The motor runs like new and most importantly, the head gaskets don’t leak.Last, but definitely not least, Ryan is a stand-up person with excellent customer service. He is very personable and easy to talk with. He does not pressure you into any unnecessary work and listens to the needs and goals of his customers. Another thing that impressed me is his ability to remember people’s names and their projects. Overall, JGM Performance Engineering is definitely the place to go for your engine overhaul/repair needs. I am a customer for life.Service: Engine repair

My plan was to find a junk yard big block Chevy and have it rebuilt for my Blazer. I started doing heavy research on local machine shops and stumbled across JGM. After making my initial call and chatting with Ryan I knew I was in the right place to start my journey. Ryan went above and beyond to explain all the details and mechanics behind each part that we were adding to the build including a full shop tour! Today marked the end of the motor building journey as Ryan and I ran some pulls on the big block Chevy on the dyno and I couldn't have been more happier. Thank you to Ryan and the team over at JGM for a job well done!
