made an appt after my teen daughter begged to get her hair cut short. Salon was fine with it until we showed up. the stylist(Rylie?) walked off and the manager said that she didn’t feel comfortable cutting her hair(too cowardly to tell us to our face) but i guess she had no problem humiliating a child. Bravo. Avoid this place at all cost. What a pathetic salon.

Good clothes. Good variety. However the JC Penny employee who assisted me and my husband, who is a cashier, was super rude to me and my husband. She literally grabbed all of the clothes we purchased and just dumped it in a plastic bag. She didn't even bother to fold it. She even went to the extent of clawing the jeans almost from my hand. I didn't like how she treated the clothes I recently purchased. I have worked in a clothing store before and I know that her behavior isn't ethical. Who claws at a customer's clothes and dumps the clothes into a plastic bag like as if it were just trash??? I spent $128.09. She is an employee, she is supposed to give us a good shopping experience. Her manners were disgusting. I had to get the clothes out of the bag to fold them myself. I think that her Associate number is: 0756. Really gross behavior. If I do come here again, I'm avoiding her and her nasty, aggressive behavior. I don't want my clothes scratched and clawed again. I definitely don't want it wrinkled and dumped into a plastic bag like as if it were trash. If she is insecure in some way, not my problem. She needs to set aside her personal feelings and be professional.

My eighty year old biracial black Mom visits once a year. She has a short hair about 2.5- 3.0 inches long which is tapered at the neck and sides. Her hair is very similar to the short style that Haley Berry wears. Last year she went to JCP Salon in the Valencia Town Ctr. The black stylist did an amazing job! Therefore when she returned this year her desire was to return to the same JCP Salon in the Valencia Town Center. This was a couple days before Thanksgiving. We were informed that the previous stylist (Mikesha) was no longer with the salon. We questioned if they had someone that was accustomed to doing ethnic hair? They informed us YES that they had a stylist (male caucasian) whom "DID" have experience styling ethnic hair. Therefore based upon our prior awesome results with her hair last year that she would have him do her hair. We trusted that JCP would only employ experienced staff and would know their employees capabilities. Mom said she question the sequence and the manner in which he colored, relaxed, cut, blow dryad and flat ironed her short hair. However, she told him to proceed as he normally would for she reluctant to instruct anyone how to perform their job responsibilities. She stated if she knew all about hair she would not be sitting in the salon chair. She also is aware that everyone does things differently. It's the end result that counts!! When I picked Mom up it was apparent that this stylist had no clue how to relax , cut, style and flat iron hair. (which most stylist are well aware that you must either hot curl or roll & set ethnic hair) . You DON'T just flat iron short ethnic hair. The cut was choppy and uneven. He didn't even edge / shape the back nape of her neck hair line with clippers. The side burns and edges of her hair were still grey! Since he ONLY flat ironed her short hair it was flyaway, uneven and wispy! I picked Mom up and cried in disbelief! They charged $180 for this childlike hair design from an inexperienced uneducated stylist. I had family coming from out of town & an animal which had to be put down due to illness. ( I truly didn't think I had to share that with the Mgr. Janelle). I was so upset and found it best to wait to contact JCP Salon after I knew I could converse and explain calmly. I was taught to never speak to anyone when upset for nothing is accomplished. until Therefore it took a couple weeks to stop by the salon and contact the manager. Upon contacting the Valencia Mgr she listened but did I waited too late to complain in order for her to compensate Mom in anyway. I explained to her that we located another stylist in Santa Clarita that was able to clean up the MESS that her stylist had made and Mom was very happy! It's NOT about the money but more about the untruth and the service received. I don't want this gentleman to take anyone else's money under the "FALSE PRETENSE" that he styles ethnic hair! Please DONOT entertain the thought of getting your hair styled if you have ethnic or biracial family members or children! Do your homework and DON"T take their words at face value! Request pictures and request copies of recommendations from previous clients. I DON'T want another person to hand over money to a corporation without receiving quality service in return. I've been a JCP card member for over thirty plus years. This experience has left a major bad taste in my mouth. I have also made all aware of this extenuating situation. Considering this is the holiday season along with our new COVID world we live in this is the last thing we needed or expected from JCP Salon (Valencia). Take care of your beautiful "Crown" and do your homework prior to allowing anyone to touch it! Don't take their words at face value. Even when it's a corporate JCP Salon or any salon! We just lucked out last year when Mom visited the salon. She's had her hair done by stylists of all ethnicities previously so the fact that this stylist was Caucasian didn't phase us or raise any flags what

The lady who works in the men's department as a cashier with blonde hair and has an accent was very rude to the mom with her 2 kids while I was next to her checking out. She had the nerve to tell the mother "Oh those are your daughters? One is dark skinned and the other is light, major difference" The daughter reacted to her angrily along with the mother, how dare that cashier talk about anyones kids like that

So I followed my stylist, Elia, who came here after working for years at Supercuts. I've never had a problem scheduling an appointment. It's never busy, usually only one other patron there when I come for a cut. Your haircut comes with a wash that's included, if you want it. Easy peasy. My cuts cost around $30. For Elia, someone who is trustworthy, reliable and cool, its worth it. I know I'm getting a good cut every time. I may be one of the few men who come here but when you find a stylist you like, you stick with her.

Angela was a great photographer. My daughter was shy at first but eventually she smiled, laughed, danced and enjoyed a good time. Unfortunately, Angela no longer works there. So the next time I took my daughter to the studio we were in the hands of a very lovely but amateur photographer. Even so, the results were decent. I like going to this studio because it's decent, affordable and familiar. If you aren't satisfied with the photo session, they'll reschedule the shoot for free. Which is what happened for me.

This is just for the entire jewelry department at JC Penny. They all are seriously so unhelpful all the time and we ALWAYS have issues each and every time we have to stop by. We purchased a ring from them last year. They never call you like they say they do when your jewelry arrives. They've literally handed my ring back to me with a missing stone and acted like nothing before. It takes MONTHS for them to have it shipped out to be fixed and about another month for it to get back to the store. The warehouse is in Texas, it doesn't take that long. This time, in November, I had to send it back for a cleaning and for a diamond replacement. We've literally go in every week to ask about the status of the ring and they always look confused and give b******* answers/excuses. We get told "oh tomorrow, tomorrow" over and over from one lady and just found out today from another lady that the warehouse JUST received the ring (again taking over a month.) Just completely miscommunication. We both work in retail and Amazon so we know how things are and work and aren't stupid and I know what it's like dealing with rude people and reviews but I seriously just don't understand what the issue is with that whole team.

Ordered a mattress and box spring. Received confirmation email. No delivery. They claimed my payment was denied. PayPal said I had plenty of funds and JC Penney does not know how to process their payments. This was insulting and stressful. Decided to go all out and spend four times the amount with another company. JC Penneys is dead.
