Great local tennis and pickleball shop with a focus on customer service while being truly convenient. I have been a customer for over 10 years including the previous location. It is wonderful to support a small local business for your sport needs.

Had a great experience at the tennis shop. Although i'm not a member of their club, they were happy to help me get my racquet re-strung. Francis was very nice and provided great service offering me advice on strings. Very easy to work with and recommend to anyone for their tennis needs.

I came here to regrip my racquet and the workers here are so nice they explained what was wrong and how they can fix it for a super affordable price. Super polite and the store was easy to find inside the paseo club lobby. Not only was it affordable they were able to get it done super fast.

I usually don't write reviews, but this recent experience of mine just blew my mind. I went to First Serve Tennis a few days ago to buy a tennis racquet for my daughter. I am planning to introduce tennis to her and hoping that she's going to like the sport. At first, the store was closed and the sign was saying the store will be open in an hour. It was early afternoon, possibly it was a lunch time or something. I went back to store with my daughter again after an hour and this time store was open. A gentleman who's name is Frances was there, he greeted us and I explained why I am there. He told me, unfortunately, he does not have any junior racquet in stock but he recommended me to go to another store and advised me to what size to get and how much to pay for a first racquet for my daughter.Suddenly, he asked me to wait and he called his son and asked if he still needs his junior racquet. If not, then if it's fine to gift the racquet to my daughter. His son said he does not need it anymore and he has no problem with gifting it.I was shocked for Frances's generosity, and at first I could not believe it. I offered to at least pay some amount but Frances refused. I was very pleased and tankful of his gesture.Moral of the story for me is, there are still people out there who don't mind to help. And who knows, maybe, this first racquet for my daughter will create an appreciation and love for the sport of Tennis. Also, there is no doubt in the future, any tennis related merchandise purchases will be from Frances and First Serve Tennis!I would highly recommend this store for tennis related business, but perhaps it is better to call first and see if the store's open before heading there.

I lived in SCV for quite some time, and it was my first time finding this gem of a place. I needed to get my racket re-strung and re-gripped, so I thought Dick's Sporting Goods was my only choice (RIP Sport Chalet). I wanted to see if there was a more "dedicated" tennis shop in SCV, and I found this place through Yelp. For first timers, please note you do have to go "inside" the Paseo Club. I don't have membership, but I was able to go in. Just let the receptionist know you are headed to First Service Tennis. I was greeted by Francis, who was extremely helpful in recommending what I should do, and what the proper racket for my 10-year-old daughter would be. I thought he was extremely knowledgeable on the subject, and even fairer when it came to pricing out the repairs + new racket. I will absolutely be coming here for *all* my tennis racket needs. Thank you for the great first time experience!

Awesome tennis pro shop in the SCV (they also carry some pickleball rackets and balls). Jake really knows his stuff, super kind and patient with questions. Francis, the owner, seems like a genuinely nice guy who has been playing for a long time. Good selection of everything (racquets, grips, strings, clothing, and tennis shoes). No Paseo Club membership required, just let the front desk know that you're going to the shop. Demo racquets available, $5 each and you can keep them for 3-4 days. They also sell used racquets at very competitive prices.

Very helpful and knowledgeable owner. Great customer service. More concerned with providing you with the right product than making a sale. Highly recommend for purchasing your tennis gear.
