I had one good experience at the first appointment in July 2023. Every other appointment has been mediocre to terrible. They are understaffed and always take forever to start your appointment, but have no grace window on your side. Getting an appointment scheduled takes weeks, even for tech appointments or when there is something serious. They scheduled me for an imaging appointment once then 30 minutes before the appointment called to say they couldn’t do afternoon imaging appointments and we needed to come another day. My dog was diagnosed with a painful condition and they’ve delayed starting treatment and I had to ask multiple times about pain care for him. He still doesn’t have any pain care.On top of that, they’re more expensive than any other vet I’ve used. I wouldn’t mind if the experience was good and the care was worth it. It’s definitely not.

I feel very taken advantage of financially. charged $120 for an exam and the vet didn't even touch my cat. Spoke to me a few minutes. Im a senior living on social security and wasn't offered a slight discount. This after having done cat rescue for over 20 years. Had I known , would have gone elsewhere. Should have realized it is a franchise.

Not good. Can’t figured out my cats issue, but continuously sending me back to the hospital. And each visit takes time and money.I ended up shifting to another hospital and they figured out cats issue on the first visit. We then are able to treat specifically. It feels this store only wants your money, at the cost of your sick furry kids.

This one became the primary vet for my dog over the past year and a half. Service has gone downwards significantly. Today I took my dog for a follow up on a eye ulcer as suggested by our emergency vet. I waited for almost 25 minutes after arriving on time. The place was not busy and the nursers were chatting around until they noticed my appointment that was at “3pm”. They got us in and just took my dog inside to validate the ulcer was gone. No doctor took the time of checking with me or my concerns after waiting all this time, only to have the people in the front desk told me I could check out. Until I asked about the results or so, I was approached by the nurse with my dog just to tell me the ulcer is gone and they had removed the cone.I had to ask to show me it’s gone, and hesitantly do so. I came back home just to see that my dog still has a small circular damage that shows that the eye is not completely set. It’s a considerable expensive place to have that bad experience where the doctor doesn’t even care to address you and the response is “not sure if she has enough time, there’s another meeting coming up”I would suggest you look for another place where they would really take care of your dog

My favorite vet place, and good thing I have their care club plan to make taking good care of my kitty affordable. Always get great care and they do an awesome job of sending reminders/texting important information, or calling to check in when my pet wasn’t doing too well. Highly recommend this location!

Very caring and knowledgeable. Dr Vaid did a dental and tooth extraction on my dog and I was very nervous. She was so kind and caring and this extraction was not an easy one. Thank you Dr Vaid, Dr Lem, and Michael at the front desk is awesome! I definitely recommend this practice, but like everywhere in the Bay Area they are extremely busy. It’s tough but they do their best to get you in. Their prices are in line with their care.

This clinic is very caring, the vets, the assistants, and the front desk personnel. Dr Lem White is knowledgeable and very caring. Jenn is a fabulous vet tech, and Michael at the front desk was very helpful. I switched to vets and pets when my previous vet clinic had gotten very bad with care.

Avoid - they seem to care about their bottom line more than your pet. They will not authorize dry food, which they prescribed themselves, for your pet if it didn't have a recent exam (last exam was in 2022, and I never had a problem getting authorization before). I guess this is how they drive more business - by holding your pet hostage. A simple thought that I actually need to feed my cat, doesn't seem to cross their minds. What they don't realize is that I'd have brought my cat for an exam at my earliest convenience had I not been effectively extorted this way. Now they have lost my business (of 16 years) forever.

Idiots. I've been getting some "prescription" food they prescribed for my cat. Amazon started to require authorization for it some time ago, so I referenced this place. One day they called me saying my cat had an exam last year (not this year) and now they cannot authorize dry food because it "would be a legal issue" (which is a total BS, because "prescription" food is not something regulated by FDA like real medicine, so clinic employee is either incompetent or trying to push unnecessary exam). Unbelievable - I guess this is how you drive more business by holding your pet hostage.

Good vet care when you can actually get it. They are booked out many weeks in advance for routine care, but consider it appropriate to cancel appointments if you miss responding to 1 text. They'll defend it by saying they also sent an email, but all the email says is that the appointment is confirmed. It does not say a word about expecting a reply. I pity any non tech savvy patients who may not email or text because these guys won't even have the courtesy to call before canceling. Very poor service in this regard.

Avoid this place at all cost. You get charged at least twice the price of the same exam/treatment/medication at other hospitals, but what you get is doctors who are too lazy to care about your pets. I recently brought my dog to VCA for a dental exam. During the doctor consultation, we mentioned a small acne-like cyst on my dog's neck. While I was trying to find the cyst to show Dr. Lem-White, she just stood aside and told us they could have the cyst removed during the dental surgery. After she blurbed everything out and rushed out of the room to get the price calculated, we tried to find the cyst but could not. Therefore, with us not able to feel the cyst with hands and the doctor not seeing the cyst, we rejected having it removed in the surgery. However, on the official medical record, Dr. Lem put it under her exam findings that she found a "small dermal mass" on my dog's left neck, approximately 3mm in size. When I contacted her about her identification of the mass, she first claimed that it was found during a blood draw in the exam room, but then contradicted herself by saying it was found and measured during the our consultation, which never happened. The truth is that the cyst was never found or measured by the doctor, and it is actually located in a different area on my dog's neck and is smaller in size. It's clear that the staff at VCA are more concerned with making extra money than providing proper care for my pet. I will never be returning to this hospital and would not recommend it to anyone.

Ok care, but really expensive. They charged $70 for ear cleaning AND then wanted an extra $50 for plucking hair out.

It's impossible to get pet prescriptions refilled at Costco with this particular VCA. Very unprofessional, they take forever to send documents or to call the pharmacy and many times don't even do it. I have to check in multiple times throughout the day. It shouldn't be this much of a hassle for how expensive their services are.
