“I shop at the Santa Clara location often. Since they remodeled their store I did see their prices increase, however they do seem to have lowered them a bit because of so much criticism. I am not sure how the district office treat their employees . There are several employees at this store that are so dedicated and work their hardest to keep things clean and organized. One in particular is Tyler the Assistant Manager. He is like the Duracell bunny. He has great customer service, respect from his employees, is always moving and always trying to make the store look better. If anyone is looking for a great customer service person he would be a great person to take a chance on. I don't think Goodwill acknowledges some of these people. I would also love to mention Ray, Alban and Atsede for their hard working and customer server skills. They always have a smiling face and are eager to help. Again, I don't know if Goodwill always recognizes employees like this, but they have worked very hard to get where they are and I just wanted to say Thank You,not all people especially in retail are as caring.”

“Absolutely my favorite shop! Nearly New has such a variety of lovely items, from jewelry and designer clothing, handbags, antiques and artwork to children's toys and books, seasonal coats, modern and vintage glassware, clothing for the whole family, holiday decorations and more.
Bargains and "fabulous finds" are waiting for you here.
This is where I buy my favorite scarves, earrings and antique glassware. -Plus, a few nice gifts! ( Happy to share my best resource with you.) There are plenty of goodies for everyone to buy, with the sales proceeds going to scholarships for local women. Come and enjoy a great shopping experience here!”

“I'm not much of a Sonny Angel-head myself, but Classic Loot has always been undeniably cute. I've bought countless gifts for my wife and cousins here, even some DBZ socks for the bros. Def stop by and see what's in stock.”

“Love to stop by this well organized store. Yes prices are a bit high for a thrift store but they carry only quality items and proceeds go to a good cause - children's hospital fund. The volunteers here are always amazing!”

“I lost something in an item I had donated earlier that day and all of the employees and the manager were so so nice and helpful in looking for it. I found it at home later but I still greatly appreciated their service. I’ve found some great items there too.”

“First of all, i love the music they play on their radio-- haha! Everyone is very nice and the service is overall 10/10. their selection of items really surprised me. They have toys, games, books, clothing, phone cases, and a bunch of other random gems! Lastly, the price of everything is shocking-- like, good shocking! you can find some really sweet and absolutely CHEAP items! like 75 cents each for hot wheels!? there are some really valuable things there priced very low which can really save lots of money for people like me who really don't have lots of money on them. 5/5 stars!”

“donate to this homeless shelter if you want to help feed the homeless. this shelter does provide a decent meal in the mornings. 7am and evening 5pm everyday. For beds 3 pm.
SAD THING IS THAT MANY NON HOMELESS PEOPLE GO THERE TO TAKE FOOD LEAVING THE REAL HOMELESS WITH NO FOOD. I see people getting there in a nice car. Nice clothes not homeless at all. Some people live right in the block nice homes and cars . But they take the food from the real hungry people that live on the streets.”

Great store I'll keep visiting for sure. Antique store is nextdoor as well.”

“Dealing with them stared badly but ended well. The problem was that I wanted to donate a new, unused, still in the box toilet. They said I’d have to bring it to the store and would then decide if they wanted it. Lugging a heavy toilet and facing the possibility of it being rejected was IMO, insane. I decided to take the gamble and brought it immediately. They looked at the box to make sure it was a low volume flush model (it was) and I was quickly able to donate it. They should have been able to tell me that they would have accepted the toilet if it met the flush requirements and wasn’t broken without me phoning and leaving messages (which were never answered) or having to find and talk with someone in their main offices.”

“Good place to thrift for cheap clothes and accessories. Items rotate in and out, so grab whatever you want before it eventually goes! They have specific sales depending on the color of the tag as well, so there's a lot of savings here :)”

“I've been donating to the Discovery Store for the past year, and I've noticed they now have two gentlemen working there regularly since most of the employees are volunteers. This is great because, in the past, there were times when there was no one available to open the door for donations due to space constraints. Since employing these helpers, the situation has improved significantly.

They do a fantastic job merchandising and often have high-quality items, sometimes even collectibles. Anything they don't take or that we drop off, they send to Savers.

They accept new or gently used jewelry, clothes, purses, shoes, decorations, glassware, dishes, vases, books, DVD/CDs and small appliances, but not electronics, curtains, or large furniture.

I highly recommend supporting the American Society by donating to the Discovery Store as much as possible; they are a nonprofit, unlike Savers, which is a for-profit business.

Parking is super easy. If it’s your first time donating at the store, call for the donation hours; they’re slightly less hours and entrance than the store hours.”

“Had a wonderful experience, found things from around the world. Found some things to keep in my room to remember the places around the world that are in need of the Lord and his word. I pray that i continue to find more things and keep the vision of my ministry in the midst of my life and the future Lord willing.”

“Easy place to drop off your old clothes donations. Can park in the parking lot though it's hard to find a spot there. tip: Receipt is via the QR code now so no more old school paper receipts.”

“One of my favorite good wills in the area. I love the upstairs section there’s always something that catches my eye and the men’s clothes has some very good options that fit my taste. Down stairs has recently been reorganized for the better.”

“Good selection of clothing and friendly workers. Prices are a little high, but I'm used to non-California prices so Im not sure if it's the norm. They have days and weeks with specific discounts for all clothing or specific categories/tags, so look out for those. Also suggest joining their mailing list beforehand to get a coupon for 25% 1 item. July 26-27 is every clothing item for $3 each, so I'd suggest going then. Was annoyed one of the fitting room doors was broken, but the one I used was clean and well-kept.
Prices I noticed/bought from:
Shirts: $6-$12
Shorts: $6-$8
Pants: $8-$12
Dresses: $9-$13
Purses/bags: $15-$25”

“Store manager and I had a rough start, it was probably my fault. This place has grown on me though and slowly become one of my favorite local stores. Over the last couple years I've seen many local thrifts rise in price while the Dragon has remained steady. I've seen the manager and other employees at this store help out less fortunate thrifters a couple times as well. After shopping here for over a year and a half, I have to admit this is one of the better stores in San Jose.”

“I shopped at Talbots for most of my clothing for decades. I no longer shop at Talbots because I now get my Talbots clothing at the Echo Shop. I’m very particular about what I wear, and the quality and styles keep me coming back.”

“This review is for donation only. I came on a Monday afternoon at around 1:30pm. There was no wait to donate. To donate, you have to drive behind the building and there will be a large area to self sort (clothes, linens, books, etc). I donated baby furniture such as jumper and bouncer and worker sorted that for me. The guy was very pleasant. I decided to donate here as Hope Thrift (closer to me) doesn't accept baby furnitures. Goodwill doesn't accept car seats though which expires. There is a QR code to scan for receipt.”

“I found a steam canner here for my mom and we got up to the cashier debating whether or not we wanted it. We were a bit sad when we said that we weren't going to keep it and we would just get it when we come back someday, but an amazing cashier, his name is Norman, paid for it for us and let us have it. We're really grateful so if the cashier Norman is reading this, thank you so much.”

“Well organized, pretty nice employees. Went in today and I was frazzled by guest commotions over the shopping cart I had and the woman checking me out (Deborah G) was super patient with me even though i entirely missed a couple of her sentences. I also made a request with bagging (i wanted the cool plate on the top) and she was enthusiastically helpful about it. I hope you have a good day Deborah :)”

“3.5/5 stars. The better goodwill on this side of town. Decently busy with customers. Turnover is good so I can always find some things I like. A medium sized store that doesn't take too long to get through but still manages to cram a lot in. Good organization. Employees mainly just man the cashier, open dressing rooms. and leave you alone. Pricing is higher for trendier items or well known brands, which is sometimes worth it, but there's a usually a cheaper alternative somewhere in the store. Last time I went they had a hand sanitizer stand but the sanitizer had a funky smell so you're better off bringing your own if you can. Overall, a solid goodwill that I probably will keep visiting. I'd say they're best for clothing.”

“This is my second time dropping off items at this site. It was a quick task as they have categorized large labeled bins for almost everything. The only reason I did t give it a five star was there was little parking space. You also have to drive to the back which was one way in and out.”
