Colleen does a great job at grooming our small dog, but beyond that we can tell that she cares for and is very passionate for her line of work. She goes above and beyond to make sure our dog is happy, secure, and feels safe in her care.

I have been bringing my dog (a 15lb shih tzu) to Colleen for grooming every 5 weeks since June 2017. After almost 5 years with her, it's hard to know where to start with this review. Colleen is incredibly kind-hearted and attentive. She always puts your pet's safety and comfort first. We spent time at the beginning of each appointment just chatting and letting my dog roam around her space, so he had time to get comfortable and Colleen could get to know us, our needs, updates, etc. At the end, she also gave me an overview of what happened during the grooming session (sometimes he can be a little troublesome, especially with his nails getting trimmed, while other times he is an angel). Colleen is a very honest and direct person, which may be off-putting to people who aren't used to that sort of personality, but I highly appreciate it. She is extremely knowledgeable and willing to share that knowledge to help improve your pet's well-being and relationship with you. Again, she does all this with kindness, respect, and patience. We had a regular recurring schedule with her, but whenever there was a holiday or I had to leave for a trip, Colleen was always flexible and accommodating with adjusting our appointments or open to having my friend drop off my dog to her instead of me. Our appointments were usually about 1.5 hours long (15-30 mins of which were spent talking), so I often went to Big Mug Coffee down the street on El Camino (also highly recommended) to wait out the grooming session with a coffee and pastries. Colleen is incredibly passionate about what she does. She almost always gave my dog an extra cute little bandana or bow tie (which she makes herself!) after every session, and one year she also gave us an adorable personalized Christmas ornament. It really just told me how much she cares. I was so sad when I finally told her that we were moving, and because of Colleen, the next groomer that we have to find will have a very high bar to meet.

Great place for a cat grooming! My 13 year old kitty was dealing with a lot of mats and really needed a freshening up. I had other groomers turn me away because they wouldn't work with a cat as old as my mine and many places that just flat out won't groom a cat. Colleen accepted my grooming requested after short chat to make sure she could accommodate. It's a small operation, so if you like spending locally toward a member of the community this is also a great option!

I took my very anxious bunny to Colleen to get her nails trimmed. I have been wary of getting my bun's nails trimmed since she comes out of the appointments absolutely terrified. Colleen was so kind and I was right with my bunny the entire time while her nails were trimmed. She even called me later that day to check on my bunny. She definitely made a difficult process so much easier.

Colleen was very flexible and able to fit me in on short notice for the grooming of my two pet rabbits. I'm very thankful she was able to groom my rabbits as they needed to stay clean to avoid fly strike. Colleen showed a lot of care and concern for my bunnies, she even went the extra mile to contact her rabbit specialist friends for more info for me. A great experience!

Yes! Colleen is the best. She took time to let my pups get to know her. Colleen was very kind and gentle with my pups. I hadn't had them groomed since March, due to the coronavirus My pups were pretty matted and she took the time and gently took care of them. I highly recommend Colleen. She was truly loving to my babies and I so appreciate her. thank you thank you thank you for your kindness

I have been taking my my dog, Lucky, for almost 12 years now since he was a puppy for grooming and have been extremely happy with Colleen's grooming services. She is flexible and listens to what I want. I'm always happy with Lucky's grooming and he looks so handsome! We've also boarded him at her home and she has also stayed at our home to dog sit when my family and I have gone on vacation. I know that Lucky is in loving hands and she checked in daily with us and sent pictures to set our minds at ease. I definitely will keep bringing our baby back to Colleen for his regular grooming and wouldn't bring him to anyone else.

I would like to preface this by saying that Colleen is an excellent person and really devoted to her pets. I picked Colleen to be our groomer because I really liked that she does not lock the dogs she grooms in a cage and that she scheduled appointments so that there is only ever one dog there for grooming. In addition to this, Colleen has given us a de-matting brush and some pretty flower collars. I will be the first to admit, my dog is not the best at the groomers. She's almost 12 now and really does not like the buzzer on her legs. She will bite at the buzzer. I always ask that any groomer use scissors instead of a buzzer if possible. Before our very first appointment, I made sure Colleen was aware of this. She would almost always bill us extra for this. All of our appointments went pretty well at first. Colleen would almost never groom her the way that I requested, but she almost always looked good. She made sure to tell me that she would always do what was best for the dog instead of whatever it was I requested. I was ok with this and still am. Unfortunately, this meant that she would leave her cut her fun uneven, or miss what I would consider obvious pieces of tufts of fur after every visit. She would always blame this on the dog's fur being matted, but I would always try to brush her and cut out any matted fur before the grooming appointment. So I am not sure how true this was. In addition to this, we noticed that Tira would have razor burn quite often, but again we thought this was due to her being unruly during the grooming. However, we had two huge issues that made it impossible to return. She cut our dog underneath the eye, not once, but TWICE! The first time she was very nonchalant about it. We again, assumed it was our dog being difficult and accepted that accidents happen. The second time it happened, she apologized profusely and said she would cover the veterinary expenses (if there were any), but again downplayed the significance of this. In over 12 years of having her groomed, she has never been cut near her eye, let alone TWICE. We recently moved and have gone to two new groomers, our dog has come back looking great, isn't terrified, and they always say she is very good. So I'm not sure what Colleen was doing but I am upset with myself that it took two injuries for us to find a new groomer. I would recommend giving Colleen a chance, but if you pup does not take to her, go somewhere else. We should have done this sooner as our dog seemed to strongly dislike Colleen and I think she may have been too rough with her. She's only 15lbs and almost 12 years old. I should never have put my dog through her grooming services for this long.

Colleen is great with my fur baby Ziggy. Numerous times she has let Ziggy play with her fur kids before he gets his appt started. She doesn't have a "get-in-get-out" attitude that some people do, she takes her time to explain what she will be doing before she proceeds. Ziggy loves her!!!

I moved back to Santa Clara and was looking for a groomer just as special as my groomer in Gilroy. My doggie has been trained to be groomed since a puppy but he still has his moments of anxiety and total dependency on me so it is challenging. Finding a groomer was going to be difficult but in reality it wasn't since I found Colleen. She has this cute little cottage on the property that is her little studio for animals. You can tell she loves all animals. Throughout the first appointments I was present while my doggie got comfortable and trusted her to groom him. I sat on the chair outside and then when he was done he would run to me knowing that it was okay. Now he is a champ and I can drop him off and come back when ready for pick up. She gives me such really great advice and her haircuts are top notch. She is definitely a perfectionist and as I am getting him ready to go she is going after a stray hair to make him perfect. My doggie is a Shih Tzu and she is amazing with the different styles but she is exceptional on all breeds. I highly recommend her and she is always checking in days prior to the appointment to set the schedule. If there are any changes we confirm with each other as a conscientious owner does. Her time is valuable and she runs a business so if you can't be on time or make it then notify in advance so someone else can take the spot. My life has been really crazy lately and when I cancel last minute I still pay for that time. Small business owners rely on those that keep their appointments and I am happy to pay for the time that it took for someone else to fill that spot.

Colleen is by far THEE BEST GROOMER I have ever met in the history of the universe. I found out about Colleen's services through yelp and decided to give it try! The first time I spoke with Colleen on the phone, I could tell how knowledgeable and caring she was towards all pets! We initially scheduled a date for one Saturday, but things came up and I was unable to make my allotted time slot (Colleen made rescheduling a breeze). When I brought my babygirl to get groomed, we were welcomed by Colleen and right off the back she made it her number one priority to get to know my dog. I love this aspect of Colleen's services because she does her best to understand her clients and their babies, she gets to the nitty gritty and asks you what triggers them, makes them happy, eating habits, etc. I was honestly a little worried about how my dog was going to be during her groom (I tend to think about the worst case scenario), but Colleen aka the dog whisperer, made her calm and was able to keep her still while cutting her nails and using the blowdryer! After the groom, I picked out a cute bow for my babygirl and we left with all smiles! A few hours after her initial groom, Colleen even went out of her way to give me a courtesy call to see how my dog was doing (her behavior, etc.) I'm so, so blessed to have found a groomer and friend like Colleen who's more passionate about her clientele versus the job. Will be coming back regularly, thank you Colleen!

If I could write a 0 star review I definitely would. 100% stay away!! I had an appointment today with Colleen at 3:00pm which she asked me to reschedule earlier in the week to 3:15pm and I obliged. I loaded both of my dogs up at 11:00am to get to her place by 11:15am because I spaced out about my appointment time. I texted her that I was on the way to be cordial and give her a heads up - to which she responded that my actual appointment time was 3:15pm today. I got halfway there, turned my car around and drove home and texted her back that I must've spaced on our appointment time and that I'd meet her later on at our agreed time of 3:15 - to which she agreed. Only to text back a few minutes later and say that I owed her for a missed appointment since our appointment was at 11:15 - which it definitely was not. As you can see by these text messages she tried to charge me for an appointment I didn't have given that I accidentally almost came early. I reminded her that we had an agreed upon appointment time later in the day so it didn't make sense to pay for an appointment that I so called "missed" which I didn't even have in the first place when I was going to show up later at my actual scheduled time to my appointment with both of my dogs to be groomed - so she would make the same amount of money off of me anyways. To which she still insisted I owed her because I had merely sent her a text that I was "on my way" lol! When I called her to talk about this over the phone she declined my call and told me she was working. So WHY then would you try to charge me for an appointment you KNOW I didn't have at 11 if you had another client THEN!? Ridiculous. I run my own business myself and this is horrible service and horrible business practices. If a client thinks their appointment time is the wrong time - the ethical thing to do is to remind them of their original appointment time and see them then - not make up that they had a fake appointment, insist they pay for that fake appointment, and then argue with them. To top it all off - she ended the whole conversation with stating that we aren't a good fit and I have to say I don't think ANYONE is a good fit to be charged for something they didn't even make an appointment for. That's just asinine. As a small business owner I enjoy supporting small businesses that are ethical and put the customer first - not all about the money.

Our dog, Coconut, has been having grooming with Colleen for many months now. We also used Colleen's boarding service at her home. Colleen has a genuine love for dogs. She always gives useful tips and advices for taking better care of Coconut. She went beyond and above for the boarding, in that she gave Coconut a bath , haircut before my boy comes home. Colleen also gave bi daily updates via text messages, which gave us great comfort while we were away.

Colleen was able to watch our guinea pig for several weeks and we are so happy to have found her as we will surely be going back to her. Colleen was knowledgeable about taking care of guinea pigs. In addition, she followed our instructions on his daily routine and even went beyond that to give him a variety of safe veggies. Colleen kept him in a separate away away from other animals and set up a lovely area with a heater in the room to keep him warm. She took great care of him as if he were her own pet. She really exudes genuine love and care for the animals she takes in, and we can tell that even our little guinea pig could sense her love and care. After just a short time, our timid guinea pig grew to trust and look for Colleen. Our guinea pig was returned to us healthy, happy, and in a much better tamer state than before! Colleen was also patient, flexible, and attentive to details. Will definitely be recommending her for others!
