Never rent storage unit from Extra Storage-Santa Clara (2797 Scott Blvd, Santa Clara). We recently found out that our storage unit was robbed and everything we had stored there for years was stolen. Our lock wasn't even broken. A person from the street cannot enter there without a code, it seems like an inside job. There were no apologies from the office staff. I have never met such detached and indifferent people. They don’t care about you, your things, and they won’t answer for anything. They don’t have cameras inside the building, but they do have them outside and only keep records for a week. We were told they checked the cameras, but I’m sure they didn’t. I will write bad review about this company everywhere so that people avoid them and don’t lose all their stuff like we did. If you’re planning to rent storage unit here, be prepared to regret it. Please stay away.

If you care about your belongings, please look elsewhere. As the last person mentioned, my unit was also broken into management and corporate do not care and only said, "well do you have insurance?" Honestly, it seems like an inside job. My lock was not even broken. Had an officer come out and she also couldn't figure out how else they may have gotten into the unit. I told them I wanted to move out because I didn't think my belongings were safe and they said fine as long as it's before my next due date. Rushed to get my things out by a certain time. However, there are no dumpsters or trash cans on site. Was told if I left things behind, I'd be charged a fee, considering I'm only moving out because my things were stolen because they do not keep units safe. You would think as a courtesy they would wave the fee, but no they did not care. Seem more money hungry and inconsiderate of the situation. There are cameras only on the outside of the facility, and they only go back a week, which is very convenient for them, especially if people don't frequent their unit. STAY AWAY!!

I have a small storage unit at this location, I’ve had it for 5 years no complaints. Until this morning when I went to my storage, strangely my lock wasn’t opening. I asked the employees to cut my lock, I open up my storage noticeably a majority of my belongings were stolen. Shoes, clothes and purses total worth over $40,000 was stolen. Belonging I worked hard for that will never be able to recover, thinking they would be safe here. They don’t have surveillance cameras inside where the storages, only on the outside where you can see people drive in and out of the location. They only keep a weeks worth of surveillance and they don’t keep track of the people who come in and out of the location. Management was not there so I called corporate but it was useless and employees there were not able to help. Completely upsetting, helpless, unacceptable situation. So please consider renting at a different location.

Been there 3 years and I have think it's one of the best its very secure.So you don't need to worry about theft now on the bad side they closeAt 7pm so you have no access after that. But overall it's great

I've been here about 6 or 7 years now and I'm so so excited that they are now open till 10 and 9 pm cuz for the longest time they would close at 6pm which was just awful and now till 10 and 9 pm superb.

They raised the monthly cost without any notice, and their excuse was "well, other places charge $100 more after just a few months, we only raised it a little bit." Seems really shady that they would do it at all, and it seems they'll continue to raise their prices. It's super inconvenient you have to type a long serial number to get in/out, and they close super early. Would not recommend

Have had storage here a while now - management is nice and friendly - the ONLY complaint I have is that they don't have elevators for people - only a freight like elevator for your stuff
