Waited 6 hours to get my driving license and number plates, and yet they made a mistake in my address and now I have to wait another 2 hours to get it fixed.
They had two of my address proofs and still couldn’t make sure my address is correct in my license and didn’t follow what was present in my application. This is very painful. They expect you to verify, but after 6 hours of standing without water or food my brain can’t work.

At the moment I find myself at the Santa Clara DMV, where the lady at checkout #11 discriminates against me for being Latina, the most curious thing is that apparently she is too, I heard her speaking Spanish with other customers, which gave me peace of mind to pass, when it was my turn I asked him to speak to me in Spanish, but he did not want to answer me, he continued speaking in English. What a pity.

The attention is terrible, people who speak Spanish say they don't speak, when they are with their colleagues they do speak, that is pure discrimination, they don't like to work

MISERABLE. Workers are ignorant, incompetent, & indifferent. Hours changed with no notice. Queue system via text message is broken. Self use kiosk broken. Several worker windows are inaccessible, which they ironically make a wheelchair user work at. Even the AC was broken.
Workers are ableist & mistreated me, don't know driving laws, & tried to charge me three separate times even though I already paid online in advance. Not that it mattered, I wasn't allowed to renew my license because of ableism and discrimination. Literally traumatic. If only I could send them my therapy bill.
I went in knowing that DMV is hell, but this office was a new level of suffering.

The lady who was going to be my instructor for my behind the wheel test gave me attitude over vehicle registration & insurance stating that it was for the wrong car even though she wasn’t looking at it entirely and correctly. Especially the guy at the window who I had to show my documents to for the driving test gave me attitude saying “Where is your insurance?!!”, “ this isn’t your vehicle registration!” And again they did not look at it carefully! It is one sided with barely any info! And it also took a 40 minute wait just to get an instructor! Please act professional and show courtesy towards your customers. Im actually convinced that this is one of the worst DMV of California!

My experience at the Santa Clara DMV has been inconsistent regarding document requirements. On multiple occasions, I've been told to come back with additional documents that weren't initially mentioned. Staff also seem to have varying interpretations of document requirements.
This lack of consistency can be frustrating and lead to unnecessary visits. I recommend the DMV implements a more standardized approach to document requirements and ensures all staff are on the same page.

I've lived here (Silicon Valley) for 45 years. The Dmv has always been a pain in the neck. Fortunately, I have done everything by mail and online for years. So I have not had to set foot in a dmv office for a long time. But now I'm 70 and had to come in in-person for DL renewal for some reason. I've heard that the dmv is much better these days. So I tried to guess when would be a good time. I got here to the Santa Clara office on Tuesday at 10:30. "Now serving G050". I am G146! Oh well! Same old, same old!
