Best apartment thus far! Huge shoutout to the leasing office team, especially Kimberly! I had a horrible roommate situation, but thanks to their help, I was able to tolerate it until the lease ended. Also, they handled all service requests promptly and diligently. From the amazing amenities to the cleanliness of the property, I highly recommend Cobalt! ?

Bad management and unresponsive. Kimberly kept bringing up issues about the thermostat and when I call to resolve the issue, I can’t get a hold of her because they are booked with tours in other prometheus apartments. Their responses take days and they bring up issues not listed on the lease. The apartments are overpriced for the service they provide. Multiple times the latch devices stop working, the floors smell and aren’t cleaned often and management is hard to get a hold of unless it’s for booking a new lease.

By far the best apartment and staff in the South Bay! Prop manager, Hieu and her staff, Sam and Gilberto, Brian...etc GO THE EXTRA mile to make sure tenants feel like they're at home. If you're on the fence. Jump over!

During the half year living there, there was no issue at all! The quality of the construction, appliances is beyond expectation. Everything is well maintained. Cobalt's team is also friendly, helpful, and quickly solves problems. After moving out to another state and renting another apartment, I realized your outstanding service is commendable. I already miss you!

I lived at Cobalt for a whole year and recently moved out. I am simply compelled to write this review because I really enjoyed my first year in the bay area at Cobalt. The apartment is very close to the valley fair mall which I liked. The leasing staff is very responsive and friendly. I particularly interacted a lot with Alexander and the nice janitor guy, and they were both very pleasant to work with. I lived on the 4th floor and had no issues with break-ins and noises, but I cannot speak for lower floors. I did notice a couple of homeless people starting to sleep outside the 1st floor parking garage, but I think it's impossible to keep them completely gone. Security patrols are usually always going around, so I never felt unsafe. One thing I wish I didn't have to deal with is a skater guy who screams at people and picks fights across from McDonalds. He yells and jumps in front of cars multiple times a day and causes a scene, and I wish I didn't have to hear him scream for hours on end as a remote worker.Other than that, I was pretty happy with Cobalt.I had to move to Mountain View to be closer to work, and now I live at Hadley, but I surely miss Cobalt!

I lived at Cobalt Apartments from May 2022 to May 2023 and moved because the prices were personally too high for me with my financial goals. Justin (the manager) there is extremely wonderful and has made the entire experience amazing ever since I first contacted him inquiring about the apartment to even now after I have moved out an entire month after my lease ended.I moved to the Bay Area from Texas for work and after researching the area it became clear that safety should be my top priority in looking for an apartment and I can confidently say Justin and the management team executed it perfectly. The entire year I have been here I did not see any real suspicious activity and the security guard patrols around randomly at night to help deter any ill intended people.Every appliance in unit worked the way it needed to throughout the year and if there were any little nuances or fixes that needed to happen the maintenance team was on top of it and was at your unit practically first thing in the morning. Anything that is within Cobalt management's control they make sure it is addressed and fixed as soon as possible. People need to understand that if parts need to be ordered it is out of the management team's hands and the limiting factor is the manufacturer being able to get the supplies to be shipped. The management team has changed quite a bit since I first moved in, but the most recent people, Zach and Kim, at the time of the writing are very attentive and know what they're doing. Zach is aware of the ongoing issues around the apartment of the top of his head and makes his presence known by walking through the apartment complex and makes sure things are taken care of.Having lived at many apartment complexes in college and work relocations, any security deposit you put in should be considered gone. Growing up in an Asian household I am meticulous to cleanliness and not damaging anything, but apartments will still charge a cleaning fee and find anything to charge no matter how spotless you leave the unit once you move out. It is an unfortunate and sad truth in America, but once you've come to terms with not seeing your security deposit and having these expectations then it will save you a world of a headache.Overall, as long as Justin is the head manager here you will have a very pleasant time living at Cobalt Apartments. Yes, the units may not have the newest appliances or it's seen some wear and tear over the years. Yes, there will be issues such as equipment malfunctioning, but that's bound to happen anywhere. Yes, there is always a possibility of someone breaking into your car, but Cobalt has cameras (that actually work) at every corner of the complex and a patrol officer at night. Yes, the rent is expensive, but if you're new to the area and safety is a big concern for you, then the price is worth it while you spend the year exploring neighborhoods that are more affordable and in your comfort of decreased safety. The management team is what makes a world of a difference in how satisfied you will be living there. To be honest, the biggest issue you will probably face are the residents themselves because of how entitled everyone is expecting things to be perfect and all issues to be resolved immediately. Like I mentioned above, if Justin is still there, the price is within your budget, safety is a high priority for you, location is ideal for you, then Cobalt is going to be a great option for you.

We're incredibly grateful for the superb service provided by Christian. He efficiently fixed our bathtub and significantly improved the airflow of our air conditioner. Now everything is fully functional, and our air conditioner works better than ever before. I wholeheartedly recommend his services to anyone needing home repairs.

I lived 2 years at cobalt and I think its a good time to leave a review! First of all I am so surprised to not see any reviews regarding the car and home break ins at cobalt, I have got stuff stolen from my car twice while parked in the gated parking! And have seen people reporting break ins to their apartments on the internal portal. The first year at cobalt was great, apartments looks nice, really good amenities, prices were convenient, but then the second year they increased the rent almost 20%. Feels like you are paying for living in San Francisco but in Santa clara! I am on the 4th floor and have been notified of noises from my apt, and when I stated I am out most of the time and might be my cat they suggested me to get rugs for my apartment as sounds travel easier on wood than carpet!! Really? Then why I am paying this much to have wood floors?! One more thing, the apt doors works with fob keys and if you get locked out more than once, you will be charged 50$ for getting you back in! And yes, having an extra fob key is not an option. And I am sure that has happened to multiple tenants multiple times. The one star is for the staff that are so nice and responsive when you need help and maintenance. And apartments are mostly brand new and clean and it comes with good amenities. But don't let that fool you, think twice before moving in.

I live at cobalt for a bit over 1 year and moved out after my original lease ended for ~1month.Pros: convenient location and newer building that’s relatively well maintained. Good amenities. Friendly stuff and timely maintenance.I’ll call out Zach who went above and beyond during my searching and applying phase, and Christian who has always been proficient with fixing stuff for my unit.Cons: try to avoid the south side near the new construction that started in 2022. I moved out due to the noise and dust. And I believe after the construction the new building will block everything since it’s just a driveway away.Bad floor isolation, which means if you don’t have the luck to get a top floor unit (I was on the 3rd floor) and ur upper neighbors aren’t so mindful, you’ll constantly be bothered by the floor noise. And the management won’t do anything concrete to help the issue (I tried several times)Worst move out experience I have experienced. I moved out close to end of 2022 and lost all my deposit due to them charging paint and cleaning fee. I’m a clean neat and considerate tenant and with my experience with various landlords and management company across the country this is the first time I was charged hundreds of dollars during moving out for just a year. I made several attempts contacting the cobalt team and they kept stalling the process and the last time they amended some charge and promised to send updated statement and photos. That was months ago and I still haven’t received anything.
