I don't recommend it. The outside of the guest room is directly the aisle, and there is a glass covered by curtains. This makes people have no sense of privacy. The bed in the twin-bed room is very small, and there is a lot of noise in the room, such as the sound of water and air conditioning, and the voice of the guests outside the door.
Walkability: A good geographical location is the only advantage for me.

I booked this Hilton hotel in Santa Clara one month prior to arrival. I flew into town and met a friend for dinner. I noticed a missed call, but my phone didn't ring because the number was not recognized. I called the number back after dinner, and it was the hotel front desk. They said that they had oversold the hotel and were fully booked — they gave away my room, even though I had a reservation. They told me to come to the front desk, and that they’d book me at another hotel and cover the cost.
We arrived and they started calling other properties — even other hotel chains. Places like the Courtyard Marriott were listed at $768 per night. There was a huge robotics convention in town, and every place was sold out. They started calling places that were further and further away, which would be a rough commute in the morning — still sold out.
At that point, I had zero viable options within a reasonable distance from the location of my early morning meeting the next day. My friend has a two-bedroom condo that is currently on the market to sell, and he offered to take me there. It was 15 miles away, which was a 45-minute drive in morning traffic. I am a solo female traveler, and I don't know what I would have done if my friend wasn't there to help.
The most disappointing thing about this situation is that the hotel manager never followed up, and it has already been over one week. I contacted Hilton Honors to file a complaint, and they said that the hotel was offering 15,000 Hilton Honors points -- which isn't even enough to cover one night here in California.
I am a business traveller who travels frequently (I have Titanium for Life status with Marriott), and I have been a Hilton Honors member for over 20 years. But unfortunately this situation makes me want to never stay at a Hilton property ever again.

The reception staff is very nice and helpful, but the rooms are something else. First of all, the Aircon is as loud as a truck inside the room, meaning that it cannot be used during the night, the door has a gap for the insects to enter, and the worst, the cleaning service is appalling. After first night I told reception that the cleaners did poor job as there were dead insects on the floor at the entrance and on the bathroom floor there was still hair of the previous occupant, but during the remaining 3 days nothing changed.
There are also things I do not include in the reassuring as those are common to the American hotel system, like low pressure fixed-head shower and poorly placed low brightness lights.
Rooms: They are ok, if the cleaners bother to properly clean them.

The most uncomfortable bar chairs that I have sat in.

Have stayed here several times on business and chose the Avatar due to it's location - walking distance from the convention center, next to a nice church, and easy access to local tech companies for business. The actual property is nice enough and generally clean although there has been construction on the road out front for several months which does make getting in and out slightly more challenging. Rooms are clean and reasonably equipped and beds are comfortable. The issue I have had is with the service. On each occasion, I have tried to check in online using the Hilton app and the experience has been a mess. On two occasions, I was assigned a room only to get to the hotel and have to re-check in and get a new room not aligned with my original preference. And on one occasion the app didn't allow check in at all so I had to go to the desk again. The front desk personnel try to be pleasant but have not been super helpful and give off a "don't care" vibe. This latest trip, I learn upon check-in that they are now charging for parking which is pretty ridiculous as there is a huge parking lot across the street at the church. I get issuing parking passes if you want to control access, but paying at a hotel like this is ridiculous. May have to find another option moving forward.

Really comfortable beds. Great gym + separate fitness room looking out at the pool. Nice, heated pool and surrounding area.
Great service (Daman at the front desk, and from the gentleman at the bar).

The staff is awesome and friendly. The grounds and room were very clean. The wings at the bar were done very well followed by a nice breakfast the following morning. Some room concerns: front door would not close on its own: the bathroom door couldn't be shut at all. The supplied hair conditioner was empty. On the other hand, plenty of bath towels, great shower head and comfortable bed with plenty of pillows. Easy access to freeways...

Horribly understaffed. Unbearable wait times. Terrible experience. The cooks were burning food. The manager was understanding though.

Decent, comfortable and functional place to stay for a business visit. The staff is very friendly and ready to help. There's a Starbucks right next to reception, and other amenities like a pantry, gym, meeting rooms, pool etc are there as well. It's a bit outside of San Jose, so you'd need a cab to go anywhere. Otherwise walking distance from here to groceries, shopping center, cineplex.
Rooms: Good size, functional rooms. Bathrooms are quite modern and bright

This hotel is very nice looking, and what you see in the photos are exactly what you get. Hotel staff in the lobby were great, and right in the lobby you have a restaurant.
Pool area has many seating options, sun tanning chairs and also table & chairs if you want to eat out there.
The 2 fitness areas are the best part of the hotel. One area has a nice cardio section overlooking the pool and the other area has a nice weight lifting area. I would go back here just b/c of this amenity.
Location is very convenient to the highway as well as a movie theater/shopping area, short drive/walk. And Starbucks right next to hotel is a nice option.
Lastly, I had to give the hotel a 4 star review based on the room size, very small, straight bed and bathroom, almost a motel vibe. But very nice, clean and up to date. Small refrigerator, coffee machine, but no microwave.
Still cannot wait to go back and stay there if I am in the area for business.
Rooms: Nice, clean & up to date. Nice size tv. Refrigerator, coffee maker, No microwave. Very small room size, no other options as far as upgrading to a suite. Great value.
Nearby activities: Starbucks @ the hotel.
Can walk to the movie theater/shopping area.
Walkability: Starbucks @ the hotel.
Can walk to the movie theater/shopping area.

Frankly, I just want a solid hotel room while I'm doing business, I don't require anything fancy, just don't have glaring issues that affect me. Being four minutes from the conference center was great.
This place was clean, well put together, with well maintained amenities, no issues with neighbors, and beds that didn't make me beg to be back home. Other patrons seemed equally pleased.
The staff were amazing, the bar was what I needed nothing more or less. While their food menu was a little lacking, the food itself was solid and they hooked me up with dinner at 9PM. As a side note, the staff I interacted with actually care about your safety, to me that's huge.
This would be five stars, if not for their landscaping service. I had a large sleep debt, planning to wake up late, and was awoken at 6 or 6:30 AM by gas powered equipment next to my room, it really threw a wrench in my day, I was not the only one.
I would recommend this to anyone, the layout may be a bit motel-like but I really enjoyed my stay. While I'm not a Starbucks guy, the fact it's attached was helpful.
If staff see this, please install a bottle opener on the wooden panel next to the fridge and look into your landscaping company.
Thank you for the stay, I'm tired of hotels having fancy facades but acting trashy or unwelcoming. I'm off to another hotel tomorrow and already miss this place.

My experience was not great first off get there after booking through chase and it was advertised that there would only be a 8.15 cent charge upon arrival and this was not the case we needed to pay 15 dollars to park after paying over 300 dollars for the room for night it being the night of a concert. The beds were uncomfortable and I was not able to sleep very well. And then the gates didn’t work with my key card was not pleased overall. Would not recommend.
