I have quite a bit of experience dealing with banks as I have accounts at several banks in the US and abroad and had several accounts at Union Bank in Santa Barbara when it was recently taken over by US Bank. It is only a few weeks since their takeover and I am already in the process of closing my accounts as I have seen nothing but negatives and incompetence in their operation. They are a prime example of why big is not always better and in many ways much worse.

I needed some quarters yesterday. I go into a bank that has plenty of money and open to the public and they don't give them to me because I don't have an account. I couldn't believe it the things that these people will do . And why would I ever want to open an account at a place like this?

The customer service here is why I bank local. The moment you walk in the door they are unfriendly. They suggested we go to a different bank when we asked about doing currency exchange. Not sure if they do it or not.

Terrible hours. Closed in the middle of the day? Really? They need to figure something out because this is the 4th time I've gone there and they are closed. 12:15 on a Tuesday. Don't bank with them.

Extremely unreliable hours. Some Fridays it will be closed all day without notice or anything posted on the windows (like the rest of their hours). Every time I come I am gambling whether or not it will actually be open. This is super frustrating as I have to drive all the way downtown and find parking since it is the only branch in the Santa Barbara area and half of the time I go I can't actually get any help. Some of the staff is nice and I understand that most of these situations are not their fault but it's still irritating.

I'm a wealth management client with us bank and I went in last week and had outstanding customer service from Tommy and Priscilla. They were a breath of fresh air very polite and courteous and help me with all my questions and were very patient. I hope they stay at this location since we need more people like them working here in this community not rude unfriendly people like in the past at this location. I will take my business elsewhere if they leave final straw. DR.Mills

Manager of this location is horrible with interpersonal customer service skills. He only cared about the money at his bank. So, I gradually stopped using U.S. Bank and never again. I opened a new checking account at a different bank. I also told friends and family my experience with U.S Bank because I recommend banks to a lot of friends and family.

I have been a US Bank customer for over 10 years. My personal accounts and my 3 business accounts. This is the worst bank BRANCH ever! Rude tellers! Rude Business banking...RUDE. All the other branches have been closing. So, in Santa Barbara we are stuck with this terrible branch. They treat you like, they don't have time for you! I even spent 20 minutes choosing and ordering checks for a new business. When I didn't receive them with 30 days... I asked... where are my business checks. They said they had no record of me ordering checks. I know exactly who dropped the ball on that... he's in business banking ... might even be the manager. All I know is that he's terrible at service. This branch will NOT last long. Find a new bank fast!

Just got a call from a gentleman from this branch that just wanted to let me know the branch is still open and I can also call if I need anything. He also asked if there was anything that I needed and hoped I'm well and safe. Very great customer service and I appreciated that!!

Made a quick stop to make a transaction, tellers are always nice and friendly, but this branch has a such a turn around on employees. Once I get to know or the tellers know me and don't need to ask for my id, then there's new employee. Not sure why, but I remember at banks that was never the case.

I've been a customer of U.S. Bank in Northern California for over 26 years and I always loved their customer service. My daughter just moved to Santa Barbara for college and this is her first time away from home; two days ago she lost her wallet with everything in it (IDs and of course a debit card from U.S.Bank). You can just imagine how terrifying this is for 18 year old, so I told her to go to the bank and get a temporary card. The first time that she went to the bank assistant manager Rudy refused to help her, so I reached out to our branch manager in Walnut Creek Rebecca and she immediately contacted Santa Barbara branch trying to assist us in getting a temporary card for my daughter. The manager of the branch was not available ...so she reached out to assistant manager Rudy who, even after she pleaded with him and asked him to use security questions to verify her - refused to issue my daughter a temporary card - but allowed her to withdraw $100 from the account.... does that make any sense? At that point my daughter went to DMW and waited in line just to find out that the system was down and she couldn't get ID so she went back to the bank for the 3rd time and told that to Rudy....and he still refused to help her. At that point I was furious and I called Rudy to ask him does he possess any human skills and why is he working in customer service if he lacks basics of it - his respond was to hang up on me. My daughter went to DMV in different town and finally was able to get ID, so she went back for the 4th time and FINALLY she was able to get a temporary card. My daughter is a very well mannered girl and she was very polite all 3 times but not the last time - would you be? After this ordeal I left a message for the branch manager Dereck Buttler explaining the whole situation and asking him to call me back - HE NEVER DID. I also called Christina Ketsoyon who is the regional manager and I received a call from her assistant who was honestly terrified with the whole thing. Christina was not working that day but she still wanted me to know that this behavior was absolutely not acceptable and it will be dealt with. I certainly hope so. So, my advise to you is: avoid Santa Barbara branch if you can.

Worst bank ever, can't imagine how they stay in business especially when you learn they are top debt relief source for Huntingdon Life Science where dogs are tortured in the name of false science and the huge class action suit they lost for unfair overdraft fees. My dealings with them have been beyond bizarre like stepping into an alternative reality. To be avoided at all costs if you value an uncomplicated banking experience.

Forced to do business because of a parent who had an account there. Zero accountability. ZERO customer service. There are not even responding to a COURT ORDER. I may need to now hire an attorney. THE WORST!

A bank is a bank and they all run the same, electronic. This bank, however, remains inconspicuous, as I have never seen a customer. I am treated with the highest quality by the tellers and managers. Compared to Wells Fargo, Montecito Bank and Trust, and Citibank, this has been the most helpful by far. I recommend all to stop on by and give this place a try.
