I want to share that The Salvation Army SB was the best decision I ever made. After being released from jail, I needed a stable place to land my feet while I began my recovery journey. I truly met some amazing people, learned how to live again, and began my recovery journey at the SB house! I will be celebrating 11 years Sept 26th 2023! This place is truly a gift if you are willing! Forever grateful!

I work here now. I can admit that there are some areas where we need to be better, for example we are understaffed at times. That being said tho, I kno for a fact that I myself and my colleagues (I cannot speak for past employees, just my co-workers for the last 8 months) do our very best every single shift to be as fair and compassionate as humanly possible. I strive to listen WELL, not just hear people, and I am always willing to consider anyone's point of view. I try to ensure that everyone's needs are met, that any food I serve is something I myself would/could eat and enjoy;... and I try to be available to people no matter how much work there is to do. If yu consider just how vastly different the people who reside here are, and especially how even more widely ranging their individual needs are, then these are no small feats. Certainly nothing to scoff at. and PS I would just like to say, for the record, I know for a FACT that the breakfasts I am happy to serve every morning are IMMENSELY better than "jail breakfasts" or whatever Perla said. Like, these two things are not even a little bit comparable. I happen to know for a fact that anyone would gladly choose ours over SBCountyJail's "cousine" every time. I can't just let THAT awful claim go unopposed.

if i can rate no stars i would my sister got kicked out today because she was spending time with her 3 kids that she hasn't seen in weeks, not even a warning, write up or some sort of discipline and still had the audacity to say to come back in 30 days? NO THANK YOU. this is very stressful and disappointing now she has no where to go. all because they " can't bend their back for her " don't see a point in calling themselves SALVATION army if they aren't helping but i guess another client lost. she does her choruses works and does what need to be done. this is so disappointing definitely do NOT recommend this place. i hope they do better and especially for their clients this is so ridiculous.

I stay here, the Salvation isn't really for you it's for the Staff. They take your money, take all your food stamps. Staff thinks they are the higher power but with out their clients they would not be in the position they are in. No Role models here. Certain staff doesn't like you to ring the door and they get mad at you if you press it, others come outside saying it's a teachable moment for you when you were told earlier don't press the button. You get jail style breakfast, no lunch & Dinner has good days and bad days. They have 4 rules printed on their kitchen wall and don't follow them but expect the clients to obey them. They want you to respect staff and not talk back while they take your money your supposed to save up to get you a car like I did at BHS or a room to rent or invest in your self so you won't be stuck in this situation. I'm financially saving them , the clients are financially saving the staff just to be disrespected.

I stayed at The Army for 100 days. There are a lot of rules, but it helped teach me patience and self-discipline.They were understaffed but did the best they could. I met some great people while I was there.

Adam Poe & Adam Clark held a Thanksgiving Dinner. Family & Friends gathered and enjoyed the local companionship. During The Holidays, Friends & Family are all we have. I am glad God answers prayers. I am glad I finally me a home. #TheKing #GoArmy #4YearsSober
