So I'm really glad I'm posting this review; I definitely had the opposite experience of other folks who didn't feel welcomed at the store. I was completely welcomed and I don't look like your typical RH customer - I was dressed very casually and could've easily been ignored like I have been at other high-end stores. But I actually went in for some cabinet pulls (I know, not the biggest sale for a salesperson) and the staff could not have been nicer or more welcoming. Instead of the customary greeting (which is fine by the way) my salesperson got up from her desk/project and made sure I had everything I needed, was curious about my project, and attended to me with all of the time in the world. I couldn't have felt more appreciated as a customer, even with a small purchase. So Kirsten was amazing; but I had to go back the next day to complete the sale and again, was treated in the same manner, by Bree, who could not have been more helpful or welcoming. I understand the concerns of previous reviewers with different experiences - I've had that in high-end shops as well in the past. I just wanted to say for the record that my latest experience could not have been better. The store is obviously beautiful and their products speak for themselves - I wish I could buy all of it; the quality is usually amazing and worth the price tag. But service wise they just do a really great job at this store. I would come here again for the service any opportunity I had to work on a home project. Great folks!

I was really hoping my experience at RH in Santa Barbara was going to be different then all the other reviews I read. The individual helping me when I arrived at the store was a woman sitting at the front door. I brought printouts of the pieces of furniture I was interested in purchasing and asked if I could see the wood samples. She was doing a fine job but had to ask the manager several times the whereabouts of some wood samples. The manager/designer was sitting at a table with her face in a laptop and finally looked up and told me rudely that I should have made an appointment. I was obviously getting on her nerves. I told her I would move to another table which I did and finally another employee came to help me and I was able to make a decision and purchased two pieces of furniture. It's almost as if the customers are annoying to the employees. There was maybe one other customer in the store at the time. I honestly don't get it. Shame on RH for allowing this rude behavior in their store. It's such a turnoff. I have to believe it affects their sales.

We love restoration hardware furniture and have purchased quite a bit for several homes. Disappointed in the downtown Santa Barbara RH-the designer wasn't too helpful in coming to the home; only wanted to sell and less concerned about the space and other RH furniture already purchased. Annalisa said she couldn't comment on where to place chairs already purchased from RH and could only comment on new purchases made through her. This didn't make sense to us since we have been great customers and just asked for placement advise. Also when you return items, be careful to document everything. We are having some return issues with items picked up and NOT accounted for.

My wife and I had an amazing experience working with Elana and Martha on several furniture pieces for our new home. They were both incredibly sincere and helpful in putting together an open floor plan great/living room and breakfast nook essentially from the ground up. Even for those who enjoy the aesthetic of RH, it can still be challenging to mix collections in a sensible, cohesive way The associates at this gallery were able to incorporate our style and expertly guide us to offerings that would execute our desire for an approachable, yet elegant vision.

You can't walk by this store and not go in to look around. The items are contemporary, yet have a nice, rustic feel to it. This store, in particular, was clean and things were laid out very nicely.

Not a great shopping experience, salespeople are stuck up and they don't really know much about what they are selling. They act like some high end designers when the reality is they are just salespeople. I am ready to purchase a few things but when you are not able to tell what size beds you have on the floor without looking at the tag I'm not sure I can trust your “design adviceâ€. I had much more help and knowledge at the RH Outlet in Oxnard. Not returning. I gave it two stars because I really like RH. Hopefully the LA showroom would be more helpful.

Worst customer service I've ever had in a Restoration Hardware. Walked in ready to buy a couch, and even after asking for help, was told she'd help me after she finished on her computer. After fifteen minutes, we called another store to get our questions answered and make our purchase.

I wish I had read these reviews before going to what WAS a favorite store at 3PM on a slow Sunday afternoon with my daughters, for what I anticipated as a fun shopping trip. Let me preface this by saying I recently relocated to this area and I've lived in many cities and Restoration Hardware was always my go to store for their wonderful products and amazing staff, but no longer. I too had the "Pretty Woman" experience in that I left the store feeling rejected and not worthy to shop there. I felt the staff scanned and equated my casual style of t-shirt and jeans (with a Gucci purse, that they apparently missed) or maybe it was my older age, with someone that can't afford to make a purchase. And, that WAS their big mistake as I walked out and promptly drove the next day to the highly reliable store, Ethan Allen, and made my purchases with Interior Designer, Alicia, who is highly knowledgeable, very helpful, gracious and was happy that I was there. (btw, I was still smarting from the experience at RH) At RH, the clerks passed me off like a bad penny and my daughters and I were continually in search of someone to help me and answer my questions regarding fabrics and sizes. Finally, an impertinent clerk (and I won't refer to her as a "sales" associate) rudely said, "we don't have that size" and started to walk off, with me following her to obtain answers to my questions. When I asked to see the velvet fabrics, she impatiently pointed and said, "here, here, and here", and once again tried to walk off again, with me inquiring to see an example. She then pointed across the room and said, "by the lady in red", leaving me wondering what lady and what various pieces she was referencing...And, then she was gone! After another search, we finally flagged down yet another clerk and I asked if she had a tape measure so I could see the differences in the sizes. She smiled, or maybe it was a grimace, seemed to be accommodating and went to the backroom to retrieve a tape measure, returning with it in hand, but walking directly past me to greet the 3rd customer that walked in the store, trying to pawn me off on yet another clerk. With this, and feeling despondent, I gathered my daughters and walked out. I won't be back...
