Ethically questionable business practice. No, you don't have to call every consignor when their clothing is sold. And the fine print does warn that checks must be picked up within a year. But you COULD send a check for the money owed the consignor in a timely manner...just as most other consignment stores do. It IS our money after all, and you DO have our addresses on file. I suspect you know that a certain percentage of clients will get busy with life and will assume their consigned clothing just didn't sell, as is what happened with me. Hard lesson learned.

A little disappointed after bringing my leather jacket home. I found out it’s vegan leather and can’t find anything on the brand online. $300 for pre owned faux leather doesn’t feel right and it seems I’ve been scammed. Definitely research any product before purchasing because there are no returns and sadly you can’t trust that items are priced/labelled honestly.

It is a treasure chest for someone. Many rooms are filled with something from your childhood or from your favorite band. You can find a vintage devices there too.

I do not trust anything this business sells as they sell very cheap and obvious fake merchandise like super cheap bulk t-shirts with iron-on Chanel logos. Frankly, it's illegal. 3rd party authentication is always risky, but I absolutely won't shop for "designer" thrift items at a store that knowingly sells counterfeit merchandise, you can't trust that any of it is authentic.

Good variety. Fun selection. Only thing is you have to read the tag on the designer stuff as some are labeled "faux" = fake. (Atleast it is labeled) Also expensive for a fake used bag. Other than that it's ok if you are willing to spend $$$ on stuff.

Renaissance is a resale shop but consigners beware. The store has a dirty little secret! And it's not just the clothes.It wasn’t until last week when I went to my closet that I remembered what I wanted to wear was at Renaissance in Santa Barbara. When I called the store, I was told, “Oh, it sold in December ’21.But there was no notice to me of the sale OR my 40% check snail mailed to me.I had come several times after consigning it in December ’19 to retrieve it But was always persuaded to leave it on sale!Last week, the staff said, "we don’t have time to call or mail a check every time we sell something. So, we wrote you a check and kept it for a year. But you never came to pick it up (because I wasn’t told it was there) and now we don’t owe you anything."So, they sold my designer jacked for hundreds of dollars and kept all the money for themselves. This is theft. They are stealing our clothes and our commissions. Please don't go there!

Extremely displeased with the customer service and overall shopping experience. I had a formal event coming up and heard this store had a great selection of formal attire, which I was excited to see but extremely disappointed by my shopping experience. I entered the store and not until what seemed to be half an hour later I was greeted and approached by the tall brunette lady wearing a tutu who was extremely RUDE! I continued my search for a formal dress and noticed everything was astronomically overpriced! A younger girl of Asian descent helped me start a room and was very helpful. I asked the younger gal about the prices being so high and she told me to look on the Real Real, I was pleased to receive the helpful tip! On the other hand the tall brunette continued to give me bizarre looks and gossip behind the counter, this made me so uncomfortable I had to leave. I will not be coming back, nor do I recommend this store to anyone.
