Gary is the real-deal! A true custom tailor who treats you like royalty and genuinely cares how you look during the important moments in life. I needed a black tuxedo style suit for my wedding and he got me set up perfectly with plenty of time to spare. Clearly, this shop has been around for 60+ years for a good reason.

This gentleman is extremely talented at what he’s doing, me and my best friend came in with short notice to buy suits. Gary had it all set up within a few days although our suits needed to be altered. Gary is THE MAN and his expertise is saving me, and my suit, just weeks before my wedding. The fit and alterations I got from indochino were a joke, and within seconds Gary was calling out the flaws and suggesting the fix. I can’t recommend Panoyan highly enough

Went in today to look at getting a custom suit for my wedding (He seems to be the only custom suit maker in the Santa Barbara area) and was greeted warmly. His expertise is undeniable and service was excellent. However before asking about a budget or anything, we got into measurements, styles, colors and fabrics. Once that was finished, I liked what we had decided on but I wasn't able to afford the price he quoted so I said that I would take a rain check and call if I decided to go ahead anyway. I called back requesting the measurements he had taken and was met with a hostile "no. I can't do that." and "that was the whole idea, huh?". Just like that what was a 5 star experience became a 1 star experience. I just wish it would have worked out.

I came in in a rush because I needed a suit for a friend's wedding. I got the invite on short notice and immediately stepped into this shop. Panoyan was very accommodating and helpful. He was able to order a suit and tailor it inside a week, all the while giving top notch customer service and reassuring me that I'll look great and everything will be ready in time. A few days later, I had a great suit that was tailored to perfection. Yes, he's a but more pricey but his customer service is the best. I rushed all over Santa Barbara and got mediocre service, nothing compared to Panoyan. I highly recommend this place for your suit and tailoring needs.

Brother Charles Panoyan founded this wonderful tailor shop 50 years ago and he made suits for me in the 1970s and 80s. His nephew Gary joined him 40 years ago and has operated the shop since Brother Charles retired soon after. Gary carries forward the same ethics of honesty, skill, personal attention and good cheer that that his uncle was known for. I recently bought slacks from Gary, and without being asked he offered to taper the legs, without cost, to fit me better—a time consuming task that most retailers won’t bother with. A true old-style family business and a great asset to Santa Barbara!
