$50 for two hot bar plates?! Yes, we each got a good amount but this is ridiculous. I have been to sit-down meals in SB for the same amount or less. Last time I will do this. I wouldn't pay that price again even if I were a billionaire--it is the principle. Do these people think they are Erewhon?

No jewish food section except during passover. Very few vegan options for hot bar or pre made food. People who have never been to a health food store will be impressed, but compared to most, it is lacking. The ambience is better than Vons, if that means anything. I've come here my whole life because I've grown up on the mesa. If there was any health food competitor on the mesa, I would never go to Lazy Acres. Also one time I saw them "employing" actual children bagging groceries, middle school boys, without pay because paying them would be illegal, Im sure. They actually complained to me that they didn't want to be there and wished to be paid. Still not sure what that was about. The reason I'm prompted to leave this review: I bought a cocoyo yogurt this morning, and it was spoiled. I came back to the same man who checked me out and he said I could swap it for a different one or get store credit without the receipt, even though I had original payment (credit card). Anyway that was super annoying, and their return policy needs an update if food items under $10 can't be returned without a receipt. Always gotta keep my receipts from crazy acres in case I get a bunk yogurt. Thanks.

I had a hard time locating Lazy Acres smoothie and juice bar menu, so decided to snap some pics for those interested. This is as of January 2024.

Came into get fresh squeezed juice and sampled some things along the way. Garden of life was here and I bought some magnesium which was cheaper than Amazon. The service here is always good. The ambiance is very clean and there is employees always restocking the fantastic salad bar area.

I am a customer of the Lazy Acres since it exist, this is my favorite market in Santa Barbara, but yesterday I was very disappointed to see that the people in charge of the meat market do not know that what they call and marked as Veal Liver, is far from coming from a veal ! Unfortunately I bought it, cooked it, but I could (nor my guest) not eat it. Veal liver is always very tender, this meat was very difficult to cut, very tough, tasteless, horrible ! I could not recognize the origin, it is not pork, not beef, not veal, What can it be ? I would recommend that the manager questions seriously the supplier about the origin of this meat.... Kangourou perhaps liver or ostrich liver ? This is not a joke, this could be possible.

Upscale grocery store. Definitely one of the most expensive grocery stores in town. Still, they have a decent variety of products you probably won’t find traditional grocery stores. A large section of health foods, vitamins, and other supplements/alternative medication are available.A large deli-area offers cooked food, salad bar, made order sandwiches, baked goods, artisanal cheeses, juices, and smoothies. I’m rarely disappointed with the items that I get here, aside from being a little more expensive.Parking can be a little pain on busy nights, particularly since many of the spots are poorly laid out and oddly sized. There are many parking spots that are quite narrow, while others are spacious. This location shares a parking lot with a CVS and a few local shops.

My friend and I went to Lazy Acres late at night after we got off work. We ended up bringing our groceries to the front at 10:02 and a tall, blonde man with a buzz cut (probably a manager) yelled at us to "get the fuck out now"! This was both rude and uncalled for as we only came to the front a little late and while it is understandable that we could not get our stuff, he could have showed some manners or at least neutral rather than cussing and yelling at us. We gave our stuff to him and left immediately afterwards.

This is supposed to be a health conscious store which unfortunately doesn't seem to be concerned with good health, well being or quality. My daughter became sick from an item purchased from Lazy Acres. I was accused by the store clerk Rosemary of purchasing the item from another store, which was incorrect and inappropriate to say. The item was absolutely from this store. I did not know if I had the receipt or not for the supplement because most of the time the clerks do not want to provide customers with a receipt. The store should be required to give all customers a receipt. Regardless the store should have the decency to acknowledge a customers concern if a product is a health risk to children. Rather I was treated very poorly. Report to FDA. Whole Foods or Lassen's is probably a better quality choice for healthy and safe products. Very uncomfortable rude treatment after spending so much money at this store.

I love love love lazy acres, from their deli to their sushi and salad bar but my favorite is their coffee. However! The lady at the coffee station is extremely rude, she has ZERO customer service etiquette. It's like she gets bothered to have customers order coffee. If it wasn't for that I would get my coffee from there everyday, which is just a shame, great products but poor service can really drive a customer away.

Always find something that I didn't know I couldn't live without. The salad bar was and always is the best as far as quality and variety and never not been stocked and extremely clean.
