This hotel is terrible and in the middle of nowhere. Just read the other reviews below. The room was very dirty and the sheets smelled like urine. They charge a ton for parking, and the management is also very rude. I had a reservation here and I called the week before the reservation to get a name added and mentioned it's because the other person in my party would arrive before me. The hotel said no problem and got it added and confirmed the other person can check-in before me.Fast forward to the day of the reservation. The hotel refused to let the other person check-in, despite the comment the other staff member left. I called the hotel but they said it wouldn't be possible without me there. I then called the Hyatt 1800 number and after 20 mins on hold they talked to the staff member and confirmed the other guest should be allowed in.After arriving myself, I tried to talking to the manager Thomas to complain about this and the poor service. He claimed it wasn't his fault and blamed poor training of Hyatt staff for not knowing the proper policy. I asked for a small credit (for the parking fee), and he quickly refused. No apology, no nothing.

Being a dog friendly hotel, they might have put dog pee repellent on all the grass area on property (very tiny in the first place). Our dog never had any potty issues with new environment but he hopped over the plant area and refused to go near there all four times during our stay. There is no good place for potty near the hotel either (being at a highway exit).

Great experience here. Tyler at the bar was a delightful presence and conversationalist. My first time staying here, and I'll definitely be coming back next time.

Gorgeous hotel with a very nice service. The underground onsite parking is $10 per night extra. Our evening receptionist wasn’t very engaging and came off a little rude. That’s why the 1 star lessHowever, Daniel at night was really helpful and friendly. Thanks Daniel :)

Absolutely horrible experience from start to finish. "Pet friendly" is a complete joke, they charge $75 extra for just one night and laugh in your face if it's an ESA. The staff was insanely rude, even asking me what my disability was, which is completely illegal. On top of that, everything about the hotel screamed bare minimum--no microwave, barely any plug outlets, hideous lighting, carpet, and furniture, .5 ply toilet paper and tissues that felt like sandpaper, awfully cheap bulk shampoo/conditioner/bodywash glued to the shower wall, no body lotion, no bathroom fan, leaky shower, super uncomfortable mattress that gave me and my bf severe back and neck pain, and the tiniest hotel room I have ever stayed in that actually made me claustrophobic. Also didn't help the 2 tiny windows were literally facing a wall. Save yourself the super unpleasant experience and book elsewhere!!

Unfortunately, for World of Hyatt loyalists there are only two options within 50 miles of Santa Barbara - the dated and always overpriced Mar Monte, and the newer (opened in 2019) Hyatt Place. As a UCSB grad I still have friends I visit multiple times per year so the Hyatt Place is usually my go to hotel, but it's far from perfect. First, the location is about as bad as it gets for Santa Barbara. SB is one of the more walkable towns but this location about halfway between downtown and UCSB has nothing to offer within a 20 minute walk other than the pretty decent Palapa Mexican restaurant next door. For pet owners, although the hotel is 'pet friendly' there is not a blade of grass to be found within blocks in any direction. My dog doesn't like to relieve herself on pavement so I am always forced to get in my car and drive until I find a grassy area. The breakfast is nondescript and pretty bland, but there are plenty of quaint and delicious cafes in SB to choose from so I almost never eat on site. I hope Hyatt expands their Santa Barbara portfolio because right now it's sorely lacking for such a popular tourist destination. If I wasn't a Hyatt loyalist I'd pass on both properties.

Very nice. Room was clean and well-appointed. Great water pressure in our shower. Our King bed was heavenly with multiple fabulous pillows. Underground parking felt very safe. Convenient to the 101. We had a fine overnight stay at this very nicely laid out hotel. The front desk clerk really understood good customer service. He quickly and professionally checked us in while politely answering our lame 'we're tourists' questions. Everything was as good as we could hope for. No complaints. A most enjoyable stay. This was one of our best hotel stays during our 2-week vacay driving up and down the Cali coast. Compliments to the owner(s) on having built a well-trained team of polite and professional employees.

Horrible hotel kids running everywhere early in the morning screaming with zero supervision. I reported the issue to the GM of all people and he just told me there is nothing that he could do!! I'm in room 110 there are bed bugs and my body is covered in bits. I DONT recommend this place it's not your typical HYATT it's like starting at a motel 6 but worse!!!! I don't recommend this place to anyone!

This is a new construction. It's only a few years old. Everything is fine in regards to the room, but the noise is an issue. It's located at a very very busy intersection of the 154 and state. I could hear street noise and also the noise from adjoining rooms. I wouldn't stay here again because of the noise. The only redeeming aspect was that there is a nice little mexican restaurant next door by the name of palapa. If you ever stay here, grab food there.

Beware Hyatt card members. If you book through Hyatt Membership you may not get a refund if you cancel the reservation even if you cancel weeks in advance. Read the small print under cancellation policy. Non refundable.

It was easy to make a reservation online. However I wish the website offered a convenient link/button to "add reservation to calendar", a feature that many other hotel reservation sites offer. You get lower rates when you're a World of Hyatt member (free to join). The World of Hyatt app could use some improvement. Hotel check in is at 3pm. I went into the app (after seeing a notification) to check in. It said it would notify me when room was ready.Checked app at 3pm; app still said it will notify me when room is ready. Checked at 4pm, same message.Checked at 5:15pm, same message.See a trend? Not much parking in front to stop & check in. There were 2 spaces, one regular space and 1 handicap space. Both were occupied when we arrived, so we had to go park in the garage and walk back toward the front lobby. The garage space is very tight. On the upside, there are lots of EV parking spots. It is tricky to get in and out of the driveway to the hotel, due to proximity to State Street & US101 highway. There is no street level parking for the hotel. The street level parking you see after entering the driveway to the hotel belongs to the restaurant next door. You must enter the underground parking structure. The parking garage is TIGHT!!! And we were in a smallish SUV (Honda CR-V). Parking is $9.99 per night.Lower parking garage level B2 has maybe around 45 parking spaces, and no EV charging spaces. EV charging is on level B1.Breakfast is from 6:30am to 9am. Slim breakfast selection. Nothing is "freshly" made, other than hard boiled eggs & coffee. Breakfast sandwich or burrito upon request. Other options include muffins, cereal, yogurt, apples, oranges, bananas, coffee, and orange juice. Breakfast area seats approximately 45 people. There are mostly low tables, plus a few higher seats at on high-top table & counter. 2 TV screens in the room. The room temperature is uneven due to the "out" vent on the wall near the top of the wardrobe. The cool air gets blown toward the desk and sofa area, while the bed side of the room gets too warm. The bathroom sink was cracked. Clock radio on night stand is 20 minutes slow... but it has 2 USB ports.Fitness Center has Life Fitness machines and Hammer Strength weights. This hotel is an easy drive to downtown Santa Barbara and UC Santa Barbara. It's a good choice when you don't want to be right on touristy part of State Street. .

Our room was good.. but wish it was more sound proof.. we heard the room next door (everything from the hair dryer, toilet flushing, to voices)and the hallway whenever someone walked by our door. Free breakfast was decent and nice to enjoy until 10am. Location was good- close to the freeway and 10 min drive to downtown SB. There are a few (10) ev parking spots that weren't specifically reserved for ev cars, so we found a lot of gas cars parked in the spots so we weren't able to charge our car at all for the 3 nights we were staying with them.. I guess not their fault but it was a bit disappointing that they weren't able to enforce it, especially since I called before to check for it. Specifically for Teslas, only about 5 of them worked (the boxes that are more newer models). The others always ended up giving us a charging error or not connected to power message.
