Great location for a workout! Prior to heading to Santa Barbara we researched outdoor fitness areas and discovered this gem! The city really should fix this equipment so that both locals & guests can train safely & efficiently! The bars on the parallel bars spin & you can tell others have attempted to use an adhesive of sorts to try & fix. This fitness area is far superior to the newer one at nearby Cabrillo Park. I wish my city had an outdoor area such as this. Health is wealth & we thoroughly enjoyed training here. Maybe this park has changed since the previous reviews but all we encountered were other people enjoying some outdoor fitness & we all had a great time & made some new acquaintances.I hope the information we heard about the city possibly removing the equipment is false as that would greatly impact the community at large.

Playground: The playground is modern and very nice.
Restrooms: The restrooms open at sunrise and close at sunset. They are serviced every morning but get a lot of traffic so not the cleanest in SB by afternoon.
Dog-friendliness: Dogs are welcome everywhere in the park.

A block from the beach, isometric apparatus abound and one can always find a futbol pick-up match. What more can one ask of a park. Did I mention Dwight Murphy is Zoo-adjacent? Well, it's got that too.. ?
