Mr. Wheezy Cat approved!! I've had a lot of vets over the years and lived in many states and this is by far my favorite vet. Prices are really reasonable compared to other vet's I've been to and have liked way less and its an added bonus that everyone here is super awesome, friendly, kind and knowledgeable. I've been taking my cat Mr. Wheezy Cat here since we moved back into town from Santa Ynez about 2 years ago and Dr. Kelsey Grunewald always makes Wheezy feel comfortable and calm during his visits and exams. Recently he had to have a tooth extracted, and everyone was so helpful and calming before the surgery. He got sent home with some pain meds just incase but just two days later is pain free and back outside rolling in dirt and playing in flower beds living his best kitty life! I am so thankful for you all and the awesome work you do in helping our fur/feather babies stay happy and healthy. Thank you all so much!!!

MY FAVORITE VET EVER! And I've been to a ton.... Taco had PTSD from his vile first mother in Tribeca and peed outside the box. It was wholly mental, though I do think putting him on Urinary SO (Royal Canin $$$ Rx food) two years helped curb the problem. Urination outside the box is a complex and difficult thing to fix. Most vets told me he would always do it to some extent, though perhaps less. They were wrong. PTSD is real---in humans and pets. That woman was a truly bad human and it took years of love and safety for Taco to pee 100% in the box. In a year, he's only sprayed once (and only because I had a visitor who accidentally poked him in the ear). And only on a bathmat. No biggie. I love my three Manhattan vets and my Pacific Palisades vet is great (but the staff totally incompetent). But Dr Grunewald is an angel. I dropped Taco off for a wellness check and also second opinion re teeth. Cleaning cat teeth is a big production requiring anesthesia and my Palisades vet said it would take all day. At the Cat and Bird Clinic (which has an aquarium!), it's three hours tops. Range: $200-500 which is way under what my friends in NYC and LA reported as the going rate. Office visits are only $68 and there's no waiting. I dropped Taco at 8:30. Went outside to take a few phone calls and call old vet (again) to get recent bloodwork sent over, then had him home by a little after 9AM. I get annoyed with Santa Barbara's size, sleepiness, and provinciality, but when it comes to stuff like this, it's nice to live in a small-town. This vet is across the street from my chiropractor, Dr Neal Barry (Best of SB in Independent last year and always a finalist). Just a few minutes drive from San Roque/Samarkand. I'm so happy to have found a new vet for Taco, even if I'm moving in 6 or so months. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! NOTE: NEVER EVER GO TO ADOBE PET CLINIC by Kyoto. I won't rehash but trust me. They are very, very bad (the old senior vet, male, if he's still around). The younger woman is good with animals but has no power in the operation and if you want to know how your ex-cat died, you're SOL. Every day I drive by, I hope that clinic has become a Verizon store or La Salsa. Some things are forgivable. Their conduct--and specifically the diabolical senior male---is not. I hope they get audited (not that they committed any financial impropriety) and flooded. Termites and bedbugs too! Basically, all the Biblical plagues!

You and your furry or feathered family members will be Feline fine after a visit to Dr. Sellers Vet Clinic! I have taken my cats here for years (then moved away, then moved back, and was so relieved Dr. Sellers is still here serving the great furbabies of Santa Barbara!) Her expertise and patience is unmatched. The office staff is so knowledgeable, helpful and courteous! They work so hard, promptly returning all inquiries, calls or texts and bend over backwards for clients and their pets. Always a Pawsitively Purrfect experience. I can rest easy knowing my babies are in such good hands. Thank you to the team at Cat & Bird Clinic!

I love the cat and bird clinic! The vets there have saved my bird's life when everyone thought she would die. They are always thorough, knowledgable and have fair prices, particularly for an avian vet. I bring all three of my birds there for check ups, illnesses and grooming.

Cat & Bird is my go to vet, the entire team is absolutely wonderful! I have two long haired grey cats who both see Dr.Grenwald, she is thorough, kind and patient. Every appointment she is so understanding in addressing my concerns, answering my questions and it helps me in providing the best care for my cats. I always know that my cats are in the very best hands. During a recent check up I asked to look at his mouth because his breath had become increasingly stinky. She found that there were teeth that would require extraction (the cause of his stinky breath). This was the first time I had to do any type of procedure for one of my cats, I was anxious about the unknown. Dr. Grenwald and her team were very patient and understanding with all of my questions, and explained the procedure in its entirety. They explained the medicine to be given at home (so I knew what I was doing) and he recovered quickly. Once home, he was ready to be back in his grove, eating, drinking and was ready to play within a few days. I was relieved and very grateful for the Cat & Bird team!

My mom has an umbrella cockatoo and she layed her first clutch earlier this week. She seemed fine after the first egg, two days later she was not acting herself. Started calling around to see a vet, her in Lompoc the bird vet was not taking clients... so we were calling everywhere frantically trying to get her in, the bird clinic in Pismo told us it wasn't an emergency and didn't have an opening until the following week. Finally found this Cat and Bird clinic and we are so greatful we did! It was so late in the day by the time we got in touch with them they couldn't get us in that day, but we got an appointment for the following day. Five minutes after Coco was taken back the vet called us with a plan to get started with which included a calcium shot and doing xrays. She was not egg bound which was our first concern, but she was and still is calcium deficient... the vet also saw that her heart might have some problems and before she did a final diagnosis needed to see the final radiology report which would be available the following day. We decided it was best for Coco to stay the night at the clinic and not have to travel twice from lompoc to Santa Barbara if they needed to do an ultrasound after the radiology report. The whole staff was so patient, kind and understanding. These were professionals that had never seen us or our animal prior to this but cared for her like she was one of their own! We are so thankful we found the Cat and Bird Clinic here on Mission street. Coco has a long road to recovery but after only two days she is slowly acting more like her silly self again. Thank you so very much!!!!!!!! Words cannot express how much we recommend this clinic and appreciate their care thank you a million times!

I don't like that I can't be in the room with the vet when she is checking out my cat, but I understand considering the times and current conditions. The process for getting your cat in the door was handled smoothly and effectively, incorporating all the CDC guidelines for distancing, masks, etc. The Vet called me as I waited in the parking lot and fully explained what had been seen on the needed x-ray, presented options for treatment and answered my questions. The Staff were friendly and efficient, and I got my cat back home quickly. The only upgrade I'd suggest would be a zoom connection in the exam room so I could talk to the vet as the exam was happening. Thanks so much.

They're great! I just moved to SB and my kitty was feeling a little sick... of course I was worried. My sister recommended the Cat & Bird Clinic. I called and they were very helpful over the phone. We went in for a check up (and pedi) and, even with the whole Covid-19 restrictions, I LOVED THIS PLACE! I never even went inside and never met the vet but still felt like I received personal and caring service. I chatted with the vet for a few minutes by phone and she totally put me at ease. This will DEFINITELY be Phoebe Buffay's new vet. She's happy, I'm happy! :)

BEWARE! Do not take your bird here for wing clipping. I (and my cockatiel) had a horrific experience. I specifically said to three different employees I wanted a very, very mild clip, not extreme. The result was devastating. I've cried every day since my bird was mutilated by these hacks. My cockatiel drops like a rock, literally straight down so severely she bounces when hitting the ground. Not only was the clip extremely excessive but it left mutilated, ragged, jagged edges to the minimal feathers she has left. Looks like they were put in a grinder, seriously. Hatchet job just doesn't explain how damaged she is. The cherry on top of this nightmare is the quote I asked for when making the appointment on the phone was $20, but my bill was $27. I am not a troll, I am real. My name is Shirley and this occured April 2020.

In short, this clinic is a typical profit-centered, incompetent business rather than a proper veterinary clinic that offers service to care for animals' lives and get paid for it. I would never trust them again. For those who are interested, below is my latest experience with them in detail: We had to get an international health certificate for our cat. Few months prior to our departure, I was in contact with the clinic about the health certificate requirements. The person who was working there was particularly very helpful. Those who have travelled with their pets would know how incredibly bureaucratic, complicated and costly is the process of getting together of an animal's travel documents. That's why I have talked to USDA and this clinic several times prior to our departure. 5 days prior to our departure, we took our cat there to get the last examination, necessary treatments and the international health certificate. During the examination, I had to remind Dr. Sellers various requirements (treatment against ticks and tapeworms) that she was not aware of. Initially, she had filled and printed an outdated version of international health certificate required by Turkey (can be very easily avoided if you just google it). They had changed it after my warning. My impression was that Dr. Sellers was being reckless about something that she was not very experienced. I do not expect her to fully know each country's requirements. Precisely for this reason, she should have been much more careful. But, she clearly had not done her homework about something this serious and important. Nevertheless, I had still had my trust to the documents she had signed as she must have done this several times and knew at least where (not) to sign. As required, I went to USDA office in Los Angeles on the date of my travel. I had found out that, Dr. Sellers had completely messed up with the document. She had not only missed her signature and date&time information in required spaces but also wrongly signed another space (so her reply to my partner's review is not accurate). The document was useless. We had exactly 1 hour and 20 minutes to get a new health certificate in LA. We got lucky and found a nearby vet to which we had to pay $253 ($186 for health certificate and $67 for examination). I managed to get the approval from the USDA literally at the last minute. When I called this clinic, they admitted the mistake only after a while and told me that they can refund me the price of the health certificate which was 25$. Later, they said they can refund the price of examination too ($50). However, the least they could do was to refund me the total cost of the second vet clinic in addition. Of course, the emotional stress that we had to go through cannot be reimbursed at all. This could be a whole different scenario if I had my appointment with USDA 15 minutes later or could not bring together $250. That is why the mistake Dr. Sellers has done and the way this clinic has handled it afterwards is not only problematic from a business point of view but grossly unethical as a veterinarian! As she was not meticulous as she needed to be from the beginning, this is not simply an honest mistake either. My request to speak to Dr. Sellers was denied when I asked for. She did not even care to apologize to me personally. Rather they told me that they have found my partner's google review very rude and hung up on me. Clearly, they prioritize the reputation of their business over the well being of the animals that they supposedly care for and get paid in return.

We would give 20 Stars if it was an option! Sweetie Pie, our yellow chicken, was mauled by a dog and almost died. No one thought that she'd survive. But because of the selfless love and care that the Cat & Bird Clinic Team gave Sweetie Pie, she made a miraculous recovery and is home now! Thanks to Mo, Dr. Grunewald, Penny, Jessica, Lorraine, Brittany, Ali, Maica & Mattea who's expertise and healing touch nurtured her back to health. We give Cat & Bird Clinic the highest recommendation!!!!

We wanted to express our gratitude for Dr. Pruitt's professional, kind, and compassionate care of our 17 year old kitty. Cats evolved to not show their pain as a defense mechanism. Many people don't understand this and often blame their veterinarian for the rapid decline of their elderly cats. Dr. Pruitt provided our kitty with excellent care and realistic expectations as she got older. She was kind enough to make a house call for her euthanasia. Our past experiences have shown us that it is better to be a week early in making this difficult decision than to be a day late resulting in a painful death or euthanasia in an unfamiliar environment. We are thankful the Cat and Bird Clinic is part of our community and would highly recommend them to friends and family.
