Very helpful, knowledgable staff. During our remodel, we needed door handles, cabinet pulls and door stops and they were able to help us match our existing hardware.

Rarely do you find people today who will go out of their way to help you. Jay at Capitol Hardware did just that. He took the time to find us wheels and door handles for our sliding glass doors that had been discontinued by the original manufacturer - and that we very much needed! Thank you

Agree with another reviewer, they really do treat their customers with distain. They ordered me the wrong size product and refuse to refund me the cost. I’ve never even received the product. They have lied to my cc company so I couldn’t even get my money back that way. So now I have no product and they have my money. I don’t even feel comfortable going there to pick it up (what am I going to do with the wrong sized product?). Their policies are inequitable. I’ve only ever dealt with the owner. Very very upset.

We needed to do several doorknob repairs throughout my very old house in the Upper East, with mostly Baldwin hardware... several of the french doors were missing bottom strike kick plates, side panel latches, and allen head set screws. We found everything we needed!! And, a VERY special thanks to Richard Zazueta who would not give up on finding a piece that was discontinued, and sold us the display model!! Excellent customer service from the whole crew, and especially Richard!!

Capitol Hardware is conveniently located downtown. At the recommendation of my neighbor, I stopped here to look for kitchen handles and pulls. There certainly is variety in type, quality and price. Overall, the price is on the high end. Staff was friendly. If you are looking for unique pulls/handles, this store has a good assortment including for barn doors and gates. They have many US-made brands. This store is fairly popular so I recommend going early in the morning. Capital Hardware has a parking lot and there is street parking available.

Horrible Customer service !I spent thousands of dollars on Doors and remodel material and in the end when I asked for warranty support I was ignored and basically told to go away. Honestly, I am amazed that businesses like this can continue in a small community ( where word of mouth is prevalent ) when they consistently treat customers with such disdain.Take your business somewhere else is my suggestion !!!

My door lock which is a sophisticated one was purchased eventually from Capital nearly a year back and once the construction was over we found that there was a minor issue and contacted them to get the issue resolved . They in turned went out of their way and made one other special lock for my door and send it and we replaced it with the old one . I am sure many would have give me a hard time and they wouldn't go back on something they got paid for nearly a year ago but these guys stood behind their name and their promise and to me that's key to success . The communication was excellent and Mile was very attentive and helpful and now I know Capital and mike will always be my source for locks and related material . I found out the company who made my lock also made the one for WHITE HOUSE ... impressive . I am thankful and they rate the best in my book. Thank you Mike and Denis

Staff refused to proper wear face masks during purple tier. Noses uncovered or nose covered but not mouth. I was escorted out of store when I complained. Transaction already completed but I won't be shopping there again.
