Budget has always been my favorite car rental place. And this time it wasn't the exception. Doug made my rental pain free with superior customer service, going about and beyond. All I can say is Thank you. You and all the team. You guys rock.I highly recommend budget car rental.

Customer Service representatives were nice but there is no exit kiosk at Santa Barbara Airport to advise if there is an issue with the car. I was given a car that didn't have a full tank of gas. When I turned in the vehicle and advised it was not full when picked up, nothing was offered and no apology was given. From the customer's view, "If I return a car less than full I get charged $10/gal but when I am given a car that is not full there is not even an apology."

Pickup was a breeze at the Santa Barbara Airport, and the CSR was very friendly and helpful. The car was as described and in good condition. However, the return was a different matter. The lot to return the car was full and in complete mayhem. The attendant was friendly and doing his best to keep up with the chaos, but it did take a bit of time for us to be guided to a parking spot to return our rental car. The worst part, though, was that a day later, I received an extra charge for allegedly being a half-gallon of gas short. The invoice stated the tank was at 15.7 capacity when we picked it up, and was returned at 15.2 capacity at drop-off. My husband filled the tank to the brim less than 2 miles from the airport so this was absurd! That car gets better mileage than to use up 1/2 tank of gas in two miles. I can't even imagine it taking up that much during the time we were idling and waiting to return it. Plus, even if it was short only 1/4 tank, it's pretty petty to charge for that. I've never experienced this at any other car rental facility -ever. What was initially a "10" experience, became a "6" because we felt nickeled and dimed all for an alleged shortfall of a 1/2 gallon gas.

Short lines, courteous staff and hassle free pick up. The vehicle was perfect for our trip needs and was clean. The return was quick and hassle free. The airport could have better signage but rental was great.

I am wondering how making a reservation is an advantage. There wasn't a car available for my reservation category, of course they had a luxury vehicle and forced me to pay an additional $20 per day. I have NEVER had this happen before. Then, the attitude was horrible, and he gave me keys and pushed me out the door. Absolutely no looking over the vehicle or instructions. He said the car was cleaned, apparently they don't pick up used napkins or clean windows/mirrors.

They asked for our flight information when booking. Our flight was scheduled to arrive at 3:45pm. They said we were supposed to be there at noon and gave our car away. Ended up with a Toyota Avalon that had pine needles all over it. Windows were filthy inside and out. Had to stop and buy window cleaner and paper towels to clean the windows. The gentleman at the airport said that we did not need to worry about tolls unless we went over the Golden Gate Bridge and that there were no toll roads in California (wrong)! The Service Due, See your dealer message came up on the screen after a day with the car also. Now I have to figure out what to do about the tolls. Overall, first time renting with Budget and it was a poor experience!!!

I recently rented a Tesla for my vacation, but regrettably, poor care and customer service negatively impacting my experience. Firstly, upon picking up the vehicle, it was not cleaned adequately. Moreover, the car's power level was only at 7%, contrary to the advised 75-100% range. This situation required me to invest considerable time on the phone with customer service representatives who displayed rudeness, apathy, and lacked both care and compassion. Multiple transfers between representatives occurred without a resolution. Additionally, my request to speak with a manager was initially denied, and when seeking an escalation, promised call-backs were never received. Such service shortcomings gravely affected my vacation plans and overall satisfaction. It's the second time I had a negative experience with Budget. Three is NOT a charm. I'm done.

Would’ve given 5 stars but got my rental receipt a week after my rental and noticed an extra $10 fee for “Net Charges”. Pretty sneaky! What are “Net Charges”? Very disappointing. I have 7 more trips this year. I’ll be using a different car rental company.

Check in person at SBA, Seth, was great and processed me quickly and professionally.Once you go out to get your car though, no one seems to care. I’m used to a walk around the auto to verify condition so it just seemed a little risky. Otherwise it was a pleasant rental.

I had booked and prepaid for my reservation for 9pm. My flight was delayed 5 minutes. I arrived at 9:05pm to find they had closed for the night and no one was there to give me the car I had booked. Luckily, other rental places were open and I got a car that night, but being stuck with a baby and no car was not a fun experience and rough start to my trip. I won’t be booking with this Budget again.

Reserved SUV car and it was not available at time of pick up. Another car was issued but it was NOT comfortable for the long drive distance for 5 people. No options available for a larger car and experience with car was horrible, high winds during driving and car was not stable and too noisy. I don’t think that I will rent from Budget anymore.

Worst rental experience ever from Budget, Rented a 2023 Toyota Tacoma with 24,000 miles for a trip to visit Northern California. First the bed of the truck was covered in pink paint. But that was only part of the problem I was driving a cou0le of hours into my trip when I noticed the truck was pulling to left and the steering wheel vibrated. Checked the tire pressure at a gas station and noticed both tire were bald on the inside tread indicating severe misalignment. Called the help and emergency service numbers and was on hold at a call center for an extended period and eventually gave up trying and return the vehicle on my scheduled return date and told the Manager to take it out of service and do not rent it out again untill fixed.
