I used to love going here under the previous owner, but the new guy... don't know his name, is terrible. He is literally out to take you for as much money as he can get from you. I bought a nice floor futon and he said the cover was washable. Dried it damp dry but it shrunk sooo bad I am sure it shrunk just from washing it as well. In any case, when I called to inquire what a new cover would cost, guy tried to sell me a new futon. LOL. He offered me a "discount" like he was doing me a favor. No way I'm buying the same product for $129 (the first one was $175). He proceeded to yell at me that it was my fault for "ruining the product" and kept cutting me off while I tried to explain: he needed to offer explanation on washing and that was on him, but that I wasn't asking for a free cover but just wanted to see what a new cover cost. This is a business owner and so defensive and trying to skirt responsibility he can't even listen to someone trying to buy something from him!! He kept running over my sentences to the point where I told him to stf up so I could talk... at which point he hung up. Toxic business, has no place in Santa Barbara under this new ownership.

Big city futon has been in business for 18 years now and is part of Santa Barbara County sleep shops in Design Center. You are never going to make everyone happy, and satisfied customers usually don't go on and post that everything went perfectly. You don't really hear about all the planes that land safely. It is now under new ownership and we will continue to give you really good products and always striving to have the best possible service. Come in and visit at Big City Food time because you can also pick up luxury mattresses or designer sofas or recliners at the same store. Truly a very friendly buying experience.
