Brought my $1200 watch in for a new battery. Had to leave overnight. My watch backing was scratched when I picked it up. They had difficulty removing the backing/screws. My watch has stopped working after 7months. I’m going to a jeweler to find out why it stopped. Cheap battery? I’m used to batteries lasting at least a year.

Shopper Beware!! Watch was working fine when I brought it in to have a new battery put in. The jeweler replaced the battery and the watch no longer worked. It was totally dead. I was told the mechanism was broken despite the fact that the watch was working when I handed it to him. . He broke a perfectly good Tissot watch.and admitted no accountability for the broken watch.

The guy charged me $15 for taking a notch off my watch, which took him a grand total of about 30 seconds. Didn't seem like a healthy business ethic

Best watch store in town! They are so kind and repaired my watch in a couple of days even though the screen was completely broken and the watch was smashed in multiple pieces. They did that for a very good price and with the smile. Perfect service, I just love it! Thank you ?

The owner is a real piece of work, completely unethical and downright a con artist. I went there for a battery replacement and asked him how much it costs. He replied," 12 dollars". All places charge the same for battery replacement whether it is a Citizen or a Cartier. As soon as I showed him my upscale watch he replied, "Oh, for a watch like that it costs 40 dollars". He tinkered with it and asked how long has it been unused as it could be corroded on the inside. I replied it has been 2 years iin the drawer. He said the watch needs a cleaning and not just a battery change. I knew he wanted to take me for a ride and pull a fast one on me and I played along to see just how desperate he was to grovel over money. I calmly asked how much does that cost and he said, "200 dollars." I calmly replied, "I'll think about it". As I was leaving the store he said,"You can keep the watch in the drawer and I buy watches". I drove to Bryant and Sons and they charged 25 dollars for my watch and gave me outstanding service. Thr moral of this true review is STAY AWAY from this unreputable, unethical business owner.

The owner is a real piece of work. A battery change at any watch repair store costs exactly the same price whether it is a Citizen watch or high end model such as a Vacheron Constantin or Cartier. He said he charges for watch battery replacement $12. As soon as he saw my high end watch he changed his tune and said “Oh, for a watch like this it costs $40.” He was fiddling with the watch in his corner and asked how long has the watch been unworn. I said 2 years and he said the inside is corroded and needs a thorough cleaning. My intuition told me this guy is full of it and wants to take me for a ride. Little did he know that I play shysters and con artists like a fiddle. I played dumb and asked him how much does that cost and he replied $200. I calmly answered ,”I’ll think about it.” And his response was,”You can keep the watch in the drawer and I buy watched if you want to sell”.\nI went to Bryant and Sons and they charged me for the battery replacement which costed $25\nThe moral of this true story is Bayside Watch owner is an unethical con artist therefore Stay Away.

A jewelry store incorrectly replaced the battery in my Burberry chronograph watch, and the three small hands on the front side (face of watch) had come undone. So went to Bayside Watch and asked them to fix the issue, and they did so within 30 minutes and for a reasonable price - despite being very busy and having a lot of walk-ins that day.

Incredibly kind & lovely store! It's been a mainstay in Santa Barbara for so long, even coming from out of town to visit they'll offer anyone wonderful service from simple watch pins to more complex repairs. Thank You!

Needed a simple button swap for a Casio watch and the owner “said it was too complicated” and then turned his back. Was also going to buy a watch I’ve wanted for sometime but his attitude led me to not purchase it from him. Read similar reviews after the interaction. Save yourself a bad watch experience and spend your money somewhere else.

This is the sort of shop every town needs. But not everyone is made for retail. I went in a month ago to buy a watch; I like to buy local. I told the owner what I wanted. He showed me 4 watches. When I told him why each wasn't what I wanted, he said " I guess you just don't want to buy a watch" and walked away. So I bought a watch on line and got what I wanted. Then I needed it sized. I thought, Mr Bayside was just having a bad day. So I went back to get it sized. He worked on it for a few minutes in a frenzied and anxious state, then handed me the watch and said $25 dollars. The price was fair but I hadn't even tried it on. It wasn't right. He had removed too many links. Then he took 10 minutes trying to find the links he had just removed. He hammered away and gave it back to me. Still wasn't right. He says" I don't have all day to mess with this, that's as good as it will get, twenty five dollars". I walked out irritated but not willing to engage. I went down the street to Posh Jewelers where I was greeted by a smile, the watch sized in 5-10 minutes and charged $18. I paid the guy $25 happily. I don't understand how Bayside's owner thinks this grumpy approach is going to work. I won't be back.
