I leased a NEW 2018 Mazda CX9 on April 1, 2018. They came Yokahama Geolander H/T P255/60R18 107H/GO56B. Currently approx 2 years later, 29,000 miles, the tires are bold. They are rated 70,000. I was sliding all over the road today in the rain. I got back to call Yokahama to see how they deal with this situation since I have 1 more year left on my lease. I was told by Alfred at their headquarters in Santa Ana that basically "Original" tires that come on the cars from the dealers have no warranty. To me this means that someone is cheating the consumers. On the website they are rated 70,000 are they cheating and giving only 50% tread with their new cars? He basically didn't offer any answer other than what he read from script that new tires from dealers have no warranty!!! I asked several times but he said this was company policy. This makes me feel sick! To get this type of reply in today's economy is appalling. I would be out of business if i answered my customers like that. If this is true then I would never buy another Yokahama tire in my life and I will make sure to share this with everyone i know. I am so disappointed and find this disgraceful.

Their tire ripped apart my car. When I contacted them about taking responsibility for the repair, I practically had to do as much paperwork as if I were applying for a Ph.D. program. One of the documents that they required was the invoice from my purchase of new tires. The fact that I bought Michelin probably affected their decision.. However, I complied and supplied them with every document and every photo for which they asked. I also had to mail the tire back to them. They replied with a letter basically saying that it was my fault that their tire ripped up my car! What was my fault is that I did not return this poor product a month or so after purchasing them because these tires just never held air properly. I checked the air monthly, and the air is checked every time I have an oil change and rotation. The air was frequently low. The second factor is that they said that there was A hole in the tire repaired by “patch-only - no fill material.” I surely did not make that repair! The people at Allied discount tires, from whom I bought the tire, repaired this hole. I trusted that their authorized dealer would repair it correctly. So, for those two reasons, I’m stuck with the repair of over $2000, or continuing to drive around with my car held together by tape. I will be back in touch with Yokohama this week to plead that they reconsider their decision as I did my part to take the best care of these tires. The new ones cost a pretty penny, so I cannot afford this repair. I hope that they will make this good. If Yokohama is the reputable company that they claim to be, they will step up and do the right thing. I will certainly be back online to update this rating if they do take responsibility for their faulty product.
