This coop is amazing! There is so much heart that goes behind their curriculum. They do so much and learn through play, which is the best sort of learning. Diversity is embraced and every culture is celebrated. Truly loved our time at the "marble school."

This is our second year with the Big Backyard Preschool and we love this school so much!!!! The thing that excited us most about this school was the emphasis on play - the teachers here do such an amazing job engaging the kids with crafts, stories, songs, activities, exercise, outdoor time and open ended play that creates an excellent, enriching atmosphere for kids to learn!! FACILITY the facility is amazing - the indoor classroom is filled with so many different types of toys, themed stations (kitchen, store/restaurant) to encourage pretend play, pets (fish, hermit crab etc) and puzzles/open ended toys. the outdoor "backyard" area is SO MUCH FUN! there is a playground, a mud kitchen, a pretend house decked out with chalkboard walls, different sensory stations, a pool noodle pit, a water play station and a garden!!! CONTENT my kids have learned so much during their time at the BBYP. in the midst of their playing, singing songs, hearing stories, and doing crafts - my kids are learning everything they need to prepare for TK/Kindergarten. they incorporate their learning in such fun ways that it is always so engaging for the kids. TEACHERS both Becky and Kara are amazing teachers. their love and care for the children are absolutely evident in everything they do. they are so intentional and thoughtful in the things they planned for the school year and truly cater their teaching to each individual student. one big blessing of this being a co-op is the opportunity to volunteer and to get to know the teachers personally and to watch them work their magic on the classroom each day. in addition to the fun day to day schooling, there are fun field trips that they plan throughout the year that go along with the things the kids are learning! they have been so awesome with all of the COVID safety precautions and also offer a great virtual option for those who don't feel comfortable sending the kids in-person! so thankful for this awesome school!

The big backyard preschool is simply amazing! My son was bit more on the shy side, but after being in Ms. Becky's and and Ms. Kara's classes he has blossomed into such a confident and social young man! It's truly a gem of a preschool in the middle of Orange County. And enrollment fills up fast! We are so thankful that we got a spot with them. We were a bit apprehensive about letting our son start school but after touring, volunteering, and actively engaging with the the teachers, we honestly felt safe allowing our son to attend. The teachers love the kids and wholeheartedly want to see them grow and thrive. They put their heart and soul into their work and it's so apparent. You won't regret enrolling your child here! We love the big backyard preschool and will be sending it youngest son there next year.

I cannot express how much love and support my daughter has received from this program. When we were looking for a preschool, this program felt right. Ms. Kara and Ms. Becky both have a strong background in education while raising their own children. Ms. Kara was our daughters teacher for 2 years and never has had a bad day. She is confident and loves going to school. She has mastered her preschool standards and is already starting to read sight words and kindergarten books. She is able to count and do simple addition and subtraction. I believe it is the solid foundation of skills as well as the social foundations set at Big Backyard that has prepared our daughter for kindergarten. If you are looking for a place that will allow you to participate in the education of your little, this is the place. Parent participation is a great way to be involved with your child's development. Big Backyard allows you to volunteer in the classroom and allows your child to be proud to have you there as a helper. I cannot say enough about our love for this school. We are excited to see our daughters progress through kindergarten! Thank you Ms. Kara and Ms. Becky

My oldest daughter went to preschool here and my son is about to finish preschool here. Everything about this place is awesome. From the staff to facility to safety to price. My oldest daughter still asks about Mrs. Kara and not sure how my son will handle not going here anymore. Both me and my wife love this place and highly recommend them.

We are on our second year at this school and I cannot begin to explain how wonderful it is. The powerhouse behind this amazing co-op preschool is the amazingly creative, patient, and hard working Mrs. Kara. For a very affordable rate and a bit of parent participation the kids and families that attend this school get so much! Kindergarten readiness is itigrated into the daily curriculum as well as creativity, play, and exploration. There are monthly field trips where the children get the opportunity to learn and play in a variety of settings such as Tanaka Farms, La Habra Children's Museum, and the Discovery Science Center. Each month there is also a parent meeting where Mrs. Kara arranges to have a guest speaker that helps the parents learn more about their childs' development. She sets up special events for every holiday, she teaches the kids how to garden, they hatch baby chick every year, and she even arranges for them to have their vision and hearing checked at the school. I cannot believe this place exists! Mrs. Kara and Mrs. Becky put in so much love and work into every students which intone will inevitably set them up for a positive transition into the elementary school environment.

My children and I,felt this place as a second home, lovely place, I feel safe leaving my children under the teacher's care, Christian environment that I loved it. Kara is such caring teacher, passionate for her job, such a dedicated person! I always loved when I helped in class. You are gonna love this place and miss when kids graduate.

It's only been a week but my daughter Olivia feels right at home. I love the small class sizes. Ms Kara and Ms Becky are great teachers and are very friendly and organize.

Ms. Kara is the sweetest, caring and most loving teacher I know. Everything about her class is fun, educational and motivating for her kids. She makes each class exciting. I couldn't have asked for a better Teacher/School.

Such a wonderful preschool with an awesome teaching staff! My son was in Ms. Kara's class for 3 years and he and I absolutely loved it there. I love how much Ms. Kara really cares for the children and you can tell she really loves them and loves what she does. My son learned so much at this school. He just started kindergarten about a month ago and he is much more advanced than the other kids and I have the big backyard to thank for that. This preschool has set such a great foundation for his education and made learning fun! I also love the parent involvement in the classroom. We as parents get to witness and experience the learning milestones of our children, which is so special. They grow up so fast and it's great to have these amazing memories to share with them.

Best preschool around. All three of my kids went there and were all well prepared for kindergarten. The teacher is nice, attentive, and is great with children. My kids loved attending and were always excited to go back to visit for the many events the teacher would plan for the children. I would recommend this school to anyone.

My daughter and I spent 2 1/2 amazing years at TheBig Back Yard preschool. If you are looking for a preschool whom will let you be a participant in your child's education and social growth look no further, for many children the preschool experience is their first taste of the outside world... Often times the first time being away from people they know and trust. Well The Big Backyard is a place where your child gets to explore a whole new world with you alongside them... You can help out in the classroom as much as you wish, and not only be there for your child's education but other children's as well... Your child will learn while they play with many fun activities, games and songs. The preschool is very well rounded, it has field trips once a month and you can choose wether your child participates or not, the field trips are such a fun way for your little one to explore the world along their teacher and peers! It's so nice to be able to have a real community feeling with the school, The Big Backyard is a place where your whole family will have the opportunity to enjoy your precious child's preschool experience. With picture days, water days, movie nights, trike a thon, family night, themed activities for each month, snow day, where your whole family is welcome. Ms. Kara is the most wonderful human being I have ever know. She's charismatic, fun, creative, truly an Angel on earth! And honestly sometimes too nice for her own good. I love this school and I recommended it, I can't tell you how many times I shed happy tears in that school building. At seeing my child and other children learn, play and grow. I am so thankful for the opportunity to have experienced this kind of preschool, as apposed to my experience with my son receiving preschool through the school district; where one was hardly aloud to visit and be a part. I have so many memories I'm going to cherish forever. Thank you Ms. Kara We love you.

It's my daughters second year. And we love it... This is a really good preschool. Very family oriented. You get to be part of your kids learning. And the little ones love the field-trips of course... Can't wait for my second daughter to start attending as well! ;)
