Throughout my almost 2 years of living there I’ve had a few major issues. The apartment landscaping is very beautiful but it attracted wild raccoons and possums. I was afraid to be out at night. This prevented me from doing laundry and taking my dog out at night and I’ve worked my schedule around to not come home late. The second issue is the moisture from the environment attracted bugs (earwigs). I’ve found dead one throughout my apartment, inside my clean pots/pans and in my bed. I just didn’t feel comfortable living there. They’ve came to spray a few times but the problem was never fixed. Lastly is there is really no guest parking. The only positive is the amenities (pool, hot tub & gym) and Patrick, one of the landlords, is extremely nice!

Liked living here the leasing managers Patrick and Adam were great. They always helped when I needed help. However my car broke into on the property and with how much the apartment cost I would hope for a little bit of security in the parking lot.

Me and my girlfriend were excited when we saw these apartments and scheduled a tour to get a feel for these very aesthetic looking apartments because was looking into moving out within the next 2 months and had scheduled a tour online. However, when we had made our way all the way there we were greeted by a worker in the leasing office there by the name of Patrick who seemed nice at first. When we let him know we had scheduled online for a tour he seemed baffled. I was a bit frustrated because he did not seem to take us seriously as we are a young and our move in date he stated was “too far” to tour the apartments, which is a lie as we have been in search of our home the last month and have only been told, yes what might come up is that they may not have the exact unit as it would probably be off the market in the 2 months and they wouldn’t be able to hold it until 1 month from move in date. However we still wanted to look at the floor plans and explore the Aspens FairHaven to see if it could be our future home. Now however after being disrespected and discriminated as we were not given a tour and pushed away because of our age we definitely will NOT keep Aspens FairHaven in mind never had met such a rude and lazy tour guide as Patrick who discriminated us because maybe we did not look of age but he definitely could have AT LEAST ASKED FOR MY ID which would have showed him we were of age. Mind you we've toured about 12 apartments in the last month and we’ve had no problem with apartments with our move in day being about 2 months away. So do not choose Aspens FairHaven as a place of residence as they do not respect nor take serious new and young residents looking to find a home.

my wife and I lived here in the latter 70's. moved here from buffalo, ny and left for a promotion to wichita, ks. Hands down my favorite apartment before owning a home in Kansas. Our patio faced the Garden Grove Freeway ramp but it was remarkably quiet. The foliage, the meandering streams with fish, the hot tub on a cool winter night. We had a one bedroom loft that was just perfect for a childless young couple. I checked it out on google maps and voila! There it was.....nothing but great memories. Keep it going!

I would avoid The Aspens Santa Ana. My car's been broken into at least 5 times in 9 years while parked in my car port. The latest, and final straw, was this past weekend where my car's back window was broken with a big hunk of ice in a smash & grab. Still trying to remove the glass from my car. A neighbor's vehicle was also broken into the same night as mine. When I talked to two other residents that morning, I found out that there was another break-in the week before mine, and another on Christmas Eve. Aspens upper management refuses to hire adequate security or put in cameras, leaving resident cars as sitting ducks. I have also had stuff stolen from my car port storage area. These apartments provide an arboreous illusion of safety, but be willing to have your property tampered with on a weekly basis. Management has even warned residents that more mail is being stolen of late. It never ends. I would highly recommend not moving here. You're not getting the security you think you're paying for.

my car has been broken into 4 times this year alone at these apartments, it sit between the motel on gran and the homeless population under the hart park bridge. since the aspens shares a security unit between this location on grand and the other one in Costa Mesa their are times when their are no security on the premise and no cameras to monitor activity in the "secured" parking lot. but what is happening is these homeless and drug addicts in the motel will do break in runs through the parking lot and mine was hit last night again for the 4th time this year. I've notified the front office on more than 2 occasions. for the price they charge you Are basically a sitting duck for all the desperate homeless under the bridge to ransack. Their will be photos posted of my car in the car port busted wide open the day after Christmas.

My daughter and grandson have lived at the Aspens Fairhaven for the past 5 years and we all love it. The garden-forest landscaping makes for a very peaceful and relaxing atmosphere after a busy day. We enjoy the wildlife that visit daily and the privacy our unit provides. It is very secure and has a wonderful walking trail along the adjacent river bed which flow into parks in both directions. The grounds are well-maintained and the tennis courts, pools and gym are often available. There's no place like this in the OC and we are happy the owners take pride in this property.

DO NOT LIVE HERE. The grounds are lovely and well-kept, the location is great, but the management is trash. They do not respect their tenants, they do not act to solve problems like tenants repeatedly parking overnight in fire lanes, and they will cheat you out of your security deposit when you leave by claiming damages that did not exist.

I have nothing to say! It was kind of run down and needed some TLC. It's livable but not the place where I'd live.

Lived there in 1990-91 and I loved my apartment. It was so lush with foliage and the streams with crayfish. Best memory was walking to my car and passing a white crane feeding on the fish. Sad that I moved. Mgmt was involved in keeping things up. Clean apts and grounds. Looks same as pics!

I had a fantastic experience living at the Aspens! The first thing to mention is that the staff are fantastic: accommodating, kind, and go out of their way to ensure you are comfortable. They are quite busy, so sometimes tricky to get ahold of, but ultimately wonderfully professional and reliable. When I'd run into any of the property managers throughout the day, they'd know me by name and have an established rapport that was genuinely impressive for the amount of residents they must interact with on a daily basis. They were the primary reason for my positive experience at the Aspens. A close second would be the premise itself. Walking into the Aspens is like a sigh of relief. Every time I'd arrive home from school or work, the trees, streams, flowers, bridges, and even gas lamps actually made a difference in my day. There's even a small aviary. The first time I walked into the Aspens while checking out apartments, I knew I wanted to live there. It's a fabulously imagined space. I loved whenever I'd have a friend over and they'd remark on the area. The location is within a biking/walking distance or a short drive to Chapman University. The environment is quiet, friendly, and peaceful. I never had an issue with noisy neighbors or disruptive parties. The facilities, such as multiple laundry rooms, pools, a gym, a clubhouse, tennis and basketball courts, recycling, and a car wash station, were major selling points for me. They are well-maintained and fellow residents were always courteous about sharing space. We did have a few minor issues such as the A/C going out for a few days before it could be fixed and some cockroach sightings early in our stay (my roommate and I are tidy people, and the bugs went away after we set out some bait stations and secured all food and trash). The reviews I read before my stay about the safety of the area almost deterred me from applying, but my experience was that these are anomalous. Basic safety precautions such as taking valuable items out of your car and locking up proved to work for me in my stay there. If you have the means, investing in a Ring camera provided my roommate and I peace of mind. We never felt unsafe there, especially once inside the gates. The only major issue is the parking. I'd like to emphasize that this is absolutely to no fault of the staff, who go out of their way to ensure you will have parking when they can. Each apartment is only allowed one parking spot, and it is quite difficult to find parking if you have more than one car. In the evenings, it would be winning the lottery to find a space. Guests will be better off taking a Lyft or Uber, as there is truly nowhere for them to park. The Aspens, all in all, are truly a great place to live. If you're looking for excellent staff, beautiful premises, ample facilities, and a generally peaceful and homey atmosphere, take a look at the Aspens. I loved my time there, I miss it often, and I would absolutely recommend these apartments to anyone considering one.

First off, I'd like to shout out Adam and Patrick for always doing their best to meet our requests on time. They both show much respect and kindness to us each time we talk. Benefits of living here: Close to the freeway, friendly staff, and safe for the most part. Cons of living here: the parking. I'm starting to think it's actually not the staff's fault. I constantly see people's cars stuck in one place for weeks. Some cars don't even look mobile. We plan on staying here longer and hope to see a change in the parking situation.

Lived here for a short period of time, in that time I’ve had 2 bikes stolen. The bikes were locked up and on our own residence. This is not a safe area. When I confronted the management office asking about if there are cameras on our gates or anything all they said was, “we’ve requested for cameras to be on our gates but our corporate office always denies it. You are not the first person to come to us to say your property has been stolen and you won’t be the last person either.” This area is not safe and the corporate office doesn’t care about the residents.
